MemberA number of problems I’m facing with the Community Add-On:
1) A number of fields are not showing (Date, Location etc). I saw a thread on which someone had the same prob, but it wasn’t resolved: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/community-form-not-displaying-all-fields/. Any solution to this? Note: I’ve tried deactivating all the plugins too but nope, still didn’t solve the prob. (Btw I wrote an e-mail to [email protected] but sadly, I didn’t get an answer.)
2) I’ve set the plugin Cevhershare (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cevhershare/) to only display on Single Posts, but it’s showing on the where the Form sits. Anyway to work around that?
3) The Meta Title reads “WP Router Placeholder Page”. How can I change that?BTW I can’t place a link to my site here for reasons I can’t get into. Is there an e-mail address I can send it to, one that you’d reply to? Thanks.

MemberHey Michael. Thanks for the follow-up. Happy to answer these questions best I can; though just to set expectations a bit, when you send an email to pro /a tri.be (or post a comment here on the forum) it can take us up to 48 hours to get you a response. Sorry about that, but it’s just the nature of the fact that we’re all freelancers (nobody is a full-time employee) and that 2/3 of the support staff is out this month.
1. I am seeing this on your site, but the fact that it doesn’t occur on a default 2011 install (and all the fields appear fine) makes me think this is a conflict with the theme. Before trying the broader theme reversion route, though, can you let me know if this is fixed by changing to a different template under Events -> Settings -> Template? Make sure to try each of the options there.
2. While we haven’t received any reports of conflicts with this other plugin, it’s definitely possible there is one. We try our best to ensure the plugin will integrate smoothly with everything else out there but obviously there is no way to get that 100%. The form itself is not a “post”, per se; does that plugin give you the option to tie into pages as well?
3. This is a good catch and may be a bug, though I’m weirdly not seeing it on my end. Can you confirm that you’re on Community 1.0.2? If so, I’ll get a dev to take a look and try to provide a workaround as we get this fixed for the next build. No worries about the site link; as what you sent over via email is fine and gave me what I need to see the product. Let’s keep the discussion going here versus via email though, so it’s all tracked in one place and so we can get you responses in as timely a fashion as possible. Cheers!

MemberNo worries Rob. It was just me being impatient.
1) If it’s a conflict with the theme, is there a work around it without requiring a reversion? I know the fields are there because when it first loads (or if I reload the page), it turns up then hides itself.
2) Yep, the plugin has an option to tie it to single posts and pages. I chose to disable it on pages. That is, it’s only supposed to show on single posts.
3) Yep, I’m on 1.0.2. Just purchased it, in fact.
OK, thanks for understanding. Will keep the discussion running here. Regards.August 8, 2012 at 6:39 pm #23453Rob
MemberHey Michael. Ah, this one appeared to slip through the cracks this time around…not sure how that happened but my apologies. I will get you responses here and we’ll make sure to keep an eye on this thread going forward.
1) The easiest resolution is usually the template tweak route; did that yield no results? If so, let me know and we can try to give specific integration guidance as best we can.
2) Ah, gotcha. OK — you’ll probably need to modify the existing form template, which is a bit outside the scope of what I can advise on. Does the plugin dev provide code or a tag for excluding their plugin or is it all handled within the settings? I’ll probably need a dev on our end to advise here, based on your response.
3) This is confirmed as a bug that we’ve since fixed for the next (1.0.3) release, which should be out the first week of September. Thanks for your patience on it in the interim.Hope that helps. Let me know your other thoughts or ideas on the points above and we’ll do what we can from there.

ParticipantI have version 1.0.3 and still see “WP-Router-Placeholder-Page” as the page title.

MemberHi Tony. As this issue should be resolved as of 1.0.3, it sounds like something else might be at play here. Are you on 2.0.9 for The Events Calendar and PRO as well? Please try resaving your permalinks, and clearing your cache…if the issue persists it’d be helpful to have a link so we can view the issue directly. Thanks!

ParticipantJust wondering what I am doing wrong. Have Event Calendar, Event Calendar PRO and Community Events. first of all my settings are under “Events”
http://screencast.com/t/GJMJ9DLS3q
instead of under “Settings”
http://screencast.com/t/m3iRmdUF
Secondly:
I added new page for “submit an event” frontend as a sub menu of “Events”
My problem is, that when I bought PRO, the form did not expand to a PRO Community submission form (frontend submission form. I am very, very ignorant when it comes to the jargon. How does one resave permalinks or clearing cache.

Thank you.October 9, 2012 at 12:01 pm #26375Casey
ParticipantYvonne,
To update your permalinks go to Settings->Permalinks and click ‘Save’. Let me know if that helps, or if the problem persists. Thanks! -
