Hello, really hope you can help me.
I want to use ECP on a site, probably with this plugin, and need to be able to charge users a fee for adding their event to the site. Is there a way I can do this please?
I also have Gravity Forms if there is a way to combine them (if there is not a native way to do this)?
Yours hopefully. Andrew.
July 30, 2012 at 1:49 pm #22953RobMemberHi Andrew. Thanks for reaching out here. This is something we unfortunately don’t have baked into the plugin yet; as we just launched a couple of months ago we’ve focused pretty heavily on just the submission aspect and segmenting between anonymous/logged in users up until this.
There have been quite a few requests for this since launch – based on this it is likely we’ll be adding something into the plugin when we can figure out how to more gracefully approach it. It is no small effort to build something for this (or we would have put up a tutorial by now walking users such as yourself through how to do it)…but it is in the radar as an issue in demand.
You might be able to build something to allow for it, using Gravity Forms or another plugin, but it’d probably take some effort. Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. If you have other questions or if I can do anything else please let me know.
July 31, 2012 at 1:57 am #22984AndrewParticipantHi Rob. Thanks for the response.
Is it something that will work with Gravity Forms developer licence (I have this), or will a lot of custom coding be required in addition?
August 1, 2012 at 7:13 pm #23100RobMemberAndrew: at least some coding would be required, but perhaps some of the groundwork set forth by Tim at Creative Slice will be of use? It isn’t specifically what you’re going for and is more a broader integration between Events/GF, but it may open your eyes to some things you hadn’t thought of previously. That can be found here: http://creativeslice.com/tutorials/gravity-forms-events-calendar-submissions/.
If you start down the GF route, good luck…you can feel free to bounce any questions you may have along the way off us, but I can’t guarantee we’ll be able to provide much support on a customization of that degree.
Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer up more. If you have any other questions please let me know.
