Hey Andrea. Thanks for the not here. The renewal rate is a yearly cost, yes, and comes at a 30% discount from the original price. You don’t have to renew to keep using the plugin: it remains operational without a license key 100%, but you won’t be able to access support or upgrades without a valid license.

If a license expires, you can still renew it after the fact. So let’s say you upgrade from a business to a dev license; let that expire after another year; and decide to renew 6 months after that…you’d still get the discount rate and would not be asked to buy “new.”

That help? Or make sense? Let me know if not or if I can elaborate, and I’ll do my best.

Hey John. Thanks for your note! Happy to answer these questions best I can.

    1. Yes, you can set up custom fields with the PRO release. Hyperlinks are fine so long as you define them as such (ie selecting “URL” from the dropdown of custom field types available). This is doable in both the current version and will be doable in 3.0.
    2. The version you bought was a 1.x release, right? Something like 1.3.2 or 1.3.3? If so…then totally. You’re entitled to the existing user discount of 30%. Shoot an email to pro /a/ tri.be referencing this thread and we’ll hook you up with a coupon there.

Hope that helps. If it doesn’t answer your questions, let me know and I’ll adjust my response.

AdrianTO: thanks for the note here. We’ve had a lot of requests for this, and are indeed working to smooth the integration on multisites to – among other things – allow this. But as it stands each sub-site would have an independent calendar without a centralized roll up as you’ve requested here.

Sorry to let you down on that end. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Hey Mark. Thanks for the note here; funny, you’re the first person I’ve seen ever actually ask about multisite licensing for Eventbrite. We are working on a plan for it with the core product but the add-ons haven’t really seen it come up. If you email me ([email protected]) we can keep a discussion on that going.

To answer the non-cost related questions:

    * Yes, if set up on a multisite, it would give a separate installation of the plugin per sub-site.
    * Totally fine to start on a 10-site license and upgrade whenever multisite licensing is officially supported. That’s what we’re asking users who want to do the same with Events Calendar PRO to do: start with a developer license and work up from there.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it doesn’t, or if you need anything else here.

Hey Rafael. The current version of the WooTickets add-on allows you to print the attendee list, but it’s just literally printing the WordPress admin screen. We’re right now putting the finishing touches on the 2.0 version of WooTickets, which will be out soon and has a fully printable attendee list that will accomplish more of what you’re going for. That should be live within the next month or so.

Hope this helps. If you have other questions, give me a shout.

Hey Eric. Thanks for the note. Once your first year of subscription runs out, you have the option to renew the license. (Renewal is not a full-price purchase and is 30% discounted). You can absolutely decide to not continue to renew, and the plugin won’t stop working…it’ll retain all functionality whether there’s a license active or not. But you will lose access to future updates to the plugin and our support forums without an active license.

Hope that helps. If you’ve got other questions on this, or if I can elaborate at all, let me know. Thanks again for checking out The Events Calendar.

Hey Ryan. Thanks for the note here. Good question – at this point, no such functionality exists. The closest we’ve got is the ability to export an events loop or category to iCal/Google Calendar. The idea of agenda view as you’ve described here is an interesting one, and I can definitely see the value, but it’s not anything we’ve got on the radar for 3.0.

Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer more. If you have other questions, or if I can elaborate, let me know.

Hi all. Just a heads up, WooTickets 1.0.1 – the release that smooths out main integration issues with WooCommerce 2.0 – released a few minutes ago. More details here: https://theeventscalendar.com/release-wootickets-1-0-1/. Thanks for your patience so far!

Hey all, just a heads up that we released the 1.0.1 build today: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/release-wootickets-1-0-1/. It’s largely focused on bug fixes, and does patch a number of the somewhat critical issue users have reported (pretty much every significant bug we’ve got in the system at this point should be included in that release). There are a handful of minor features included here too.

More to come on a broader feature-centric build soon, now that we’re moving onto that side of things. We’ll keep you posted.

Hey marcjulia. Thanks for the feedback here; I’d be interested in hearing what you would consider to fall into the realm of “better support”…as Barry noted, we strive to provide as much support as we can reasonably offer up for a $50 plugin, and while the majority of our users are happy with it, we are always looking for ways to improve and better serve our users.

If you’d be willing to let me know your feedback on how we could improve and make things more valuable to you, I would love to hear it…that’s a surefire way to help things improve, and you can feel free to email me (rob at tri.be) personally with these concerns.

Hi Ann Marie, Philippe and everyone else interested in the next version of WooTickets. While we generally are unable to provide specific launch dates, I will say that – barring any disastrous, showstopping bugs – we will have this update out this week. Depending on how quickly final QA gets done today, it could be as early as tomorrow.

We’ll obviously let everyone know via an update in this thread once the new version has launched.

Hey Aaron. Thanks for the note here, and for providing your feedback on this so far. We understand your frustrations on this end and I wanted to thank you on behalf of the whole team for your patience and willingness to work through the issue with us. This is indeed a lame position to find yourself in, and we let you down here by not providing a solution that works as seamlessly as it should. Luckily, as you’ve seen, once we make the jump to 3.0 this should be largely a moot point, so your experience shouldn’t be felt by too many others.

That said, I want to make things right by you. You’ve spent a lot of time on something that wasn’t your problem to begin with, and if there is something that can help offset that – I’m thinking a free PRO license if you were interested – please don’t hesitate to let me know. I can be reached by email at rob /a/ tri.be and can get you sorted on a free PRO license (or another add-on license if you’d prefer).

Thanks again for your patience and understanding so far, and for using The Events Calendar. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey all. I’ve been reviewing these items today and am seeing some great things here. I can also understand some of the frustration from those who find the feature set not up to their liking (or their client’s).

There is no question there are some limitations with the plugin, and that those are pain points for certain users. This is – as many of you are aware – the 1.0 release of WooTickets, and by no means meant to be a finished product. We released knowing we had some features we still wanted to incorporate, but had the code far enough along that the core product was finished and we wanted to get it out there for people to use. Some of these comments suggest the plugin has been “abandoned” in the sense that we haven’t released an update since the 1.0 build…but you should all know that’s not the case.

If you own any of our other add-ons, you’ll notice that over the past few months we’ve slowed down on updates across the board, and have only pushed out minor releases when a critical bug required it. The reason behind that is that we made a decision towards the end of last year to focus our immediate efforts on The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO 3.0, and the changes that update is going to require for this add-on and all the others. This meant cutting back from the monthly maintenance release cycle we got into with 2.0 so we could focus resources on the broader 3.0 push. Though this led to fewer releases in the short term, we believe the end payoff will be worth it for everyone.

With regards to WooTickets specifically: right now we’re discussing exactly what features that next release will be comprised of, based largely on this thread and the feedback Barry has provided, so we can get something that both meets your needs and integrates with 3.0. It sounds like recurrence support, more customizable PDFs and a more usable attendees list are the biggest pain points for those who’ve participated in this thread.

If anyone has any questions on this or thoughts they don’t want to share on the forum, please feel free to email me directly (rob /a/ tri.be) so I can make sure you’re taken care of. On my end I’ll keep you posted on the status of a next release – and what it’ll entail – as soon as I know more.

Hi again, Thomas. Thank you for the follow-up. I can understand the predicament this puts you in and – as I mentioned in my last note – the fact that our product description was leaving buyers such as yourself in a position where you assume functionality that isn’t present, was a major failing on our end. You are the first user to raise this red flag since WooTickets was released a few months back, and we’ve taken as much an action as we can (shy of rebuilding the plugin on the spot) to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

To help make things right, I would be happy to refund you for your purchase price (even if you aren’t going to stop using the plugin) so some of the costs you’ve put out are recouped, and as a gesture of good will to apologize for letting you down. Please also know that an update to the plugin – which supports recurrence – is on our roadmap, and recurrence support is really the next WooTickets feature we intend to add. (As what you’re using is just 1.0, it was the start of our journey with that plugin…not a finished, abandoned plugin).

Thanks again for your understanding on this end. Please email me directly (rob /a/ tri.be) if you’d like the refund processed or have any other feedback at all on your experience…I am here and am listening. Otherwise, for regular forum duties and support services, you’re in good hands with Barry.
