ParticipantI’m using CalendarPro & Woo Tickets: I have an event that is named 2nd Tuesday Class. It recurs 12 times, once per month throughout the year. Each date has 12 seats. I have just made a sale on one of those 12 available dates however I cannot find what event date the sale is for. All I have is an order number. Something not set up correctly?

MemberHey Thomas.
This boils down to the same problem as covered in this thread – which is that WooTickets does not really support recurring events: effectively, the same pool of tickets is shared amongst all of the recurring events.
Also, due to the way recurring events work under the hood – they all share a common ID – I don’t think figuring out the information you need is going to be readily achievable, unfortunately. The same advice I provided to you in the above thread is still valid going forward, at least with the current generation of WooTickets:
The best advice I can offer right now is to break your sequence of recurring events out into separate events or else avoid using WooTickets with recurring events.
I know that won’t really help you out with your current problem, but it would be well worth bearing in mind from this point on to avoid any further confusion.

ParticipantThis is devastating news. This was the whole reason I bought this product. I am beyond disappointed. And there is no way to duplicate events to stream line the 100 events I need to enter is there? I have dropped allot of time and energy into this product, and money. Im just flat out pissed off at this point. I feel a deceived.

MemberIt’s definitely not our intention to deceive you – and I genuinely feel your pain here.
And there is no way to duplicate events to stream line the 100 events I need to enter is there?
There is no means of doing this built-in to The Events Calendar, but you could consider using Duplicate TEC Event, Post Duplicator or some other comparable plugin for that.

MemberHi Thomas. Rob from Modern Tribe here; I head up the support team and wanted to thank you for your note on this – Barry brought it to my attention and I felt I should reply to let you know we take your feedback very seriously. It was by no means our intention to deceive you and I’m sorry you feel that way upon using the plugin…that isn’t how we do business and it’s a major failing on our end to leave a new customer feeling the way you are right now. Let me say upfront that we apologize for letting you down.
The WooTickets release that is currently available, and which you’ve installed on your site, is a fairly “young” product – we released the 1.0 build just a few months ago and obviously didn’t intend on that being a finished product. This is a living plugin we are continuing to modify and build out. As you noted, one of the main features lacking in 1.0 was the fact that recurrence isn’t supported. We are working to incorporate that, to be sure, but at this point it’s tied to the broader 3.0 release for The Events Calendar / PRO, which is a major update we’ve been working on and which will have implications for all the add-ons (including WooTickets). While we’re not doing monthly release cycles for each plugin (like we were previously) during this 3.0 push, we believe the end result – an improved Events plugin with a more functional stable of add-ons, coming in the next couple months – will be an improvement for everyone, and is worth the hold up on smaller releases in the interim.
There is no excuse for our failure to be more clear in documenting this, though. After Barry brought your note to my attention I added a note about this lacking functionality to both the WooTickets product page (https://theeventscalendar.com/wordpress-wootickets/) and our new user primer for the plugin (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/wootickets-new-user-primer/) so that others will not face your same frustrations down the road. If you have feedback on that or think my wording needs to be stronger, please let me know.
With regards to your problem in the short-term: we are obviously happy to refund you the purchase price of WooTickets and anything else you’ve bought, no questions asked, since we let you down on this end. Also seems fair to give you a discount coupon for use in the future, should you be willing to give the plugin another shot once we’ve got its featureset up to your liking. Lastly if we can do anything to help offset the time you’ve wasted on this so far, let us know and we’ll try to help.
Email us (pro /a/ tri.be) a copy of your receipt to get the refund taken care of. If you have any other feedback, comments, questions or concerns about our support process that you’d rather not share here at the forum, please don’t hesitate to email me directly (rob /a/ tri.be) and we can continue the discussion. I want to make sure – above all else – we do right by you on this end.
Thanks again for your feedback and patience so far.

ParticipantRob,
Thank you for getting back to me. To say that this is distressing is really an understatement. We have so much time and effort invested into this product that quite frankly abandoning the product is not an option. There are apparently no products available that will allow us to do what we need, we know because we tried them all. I just wish that we had more information before we hired a programmer to assist us with our unique needs. Spent countless hours trying to make things work, more money, more hours only to find out that what we hoped was going to be a a rather simple process is now going to take days to configure.
8 rather simple entries as a recurring events each month has turned into 96 separate entries
8 simple downloadable files per ticket has turned into 96 attachments. As much as I shall hate each keystroke, we will have to work with the product as it is. We simply ran out of time and options to do anything else.

MemberHi again, Thomas. Thank you for the follow-up. I can understand the predicament this puts you in and – as I mentioned in my last note – the fact that our product description was leaving buyers such as yourself in a position where you assume functionality that isn’t present, was a major failing on our end. You are the first user to raise this red flag since WooTickets was released a few months back, and we’ve taken as much an action as we can (shy of rebuilding the plugin on the spot) to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
To help make things right, I would be happy to refund you for your purchase price (even if you aren’t going to stop using the plugin) so some of the costs you’ve put out are recouped, and as a gesture of good will to apologize for letting you down. Please also know that an update to the plugin – which supports recurrence – is on our roadmap, and recurrence support is really the next WooTickets feature we intend to add. (As what you’re using is just 1.0, it was the start of our journey with that plugin…not a finished, abandoned plugin).
Thanks again for your understanding on this end. Please email me directly (rob /a/ tri.be) if you’d like the refund processed or have any other feedback at all on your experience…I am here and am listening. Otherwise, for regular forum duties and support services, you’re in good hands with Barry.
