Hey Yancy. Thanks for the note here. Sadly, we do have a known issue related to Contributor-level accounts that we’re working on now. I see that it is logged as a 2.1 issue but it’s possible we’ll get it into an earlier release if we can figure out the cause within the appropriate timeframe.

My apologies for the inconvenience on this. Just know that relief is in sight.

Hey David. Jonah’s out for the afternoon but will be checking support over the weekend, so I’ve asked him to take another look here at that point. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience so far.

Hi Toby. Thanks for reaching out, and for your interest in the PRO release. Happy to try and help you out here. At this point there isn’t a frontend organizer page like there is a frontend venue page; organizer details on the frontend will generally just appear within an event entry.

That being said…organizers, like venues, do have an admin edit page accessible from the lefthand sidebar like so: http://d.pr/i/w4Rm. You can change the details of any published organizer after-the-fact using this.

Hope that helps. Let me know if it didn’t, and I’ll adjust my response accordingly. Thanks again for your support.

Excellent. If you can test on the default 2011 theme (rather than 2010, as this is just for testing) it’d be excellent. I and my team will try to help you out best we can from there. Thanks!

Hi guys: if I understand correctly, it looks like the problem you’re both faced with is the inability for recurring events to import as such from Eventbrite (or vice versa: recurrence patterns not going to EB as a recurrence). Correct me if I’m wrong there.

Otherwise, this is unfortunately a limit of the Eventbrite API and not something we have control over. We added a note onto the event creation screen on your WP site that says this so users will not get confused. But basically until Eventbrite’s API allows for recurrence our plugin will just treat any recurring event as an individual one.

That help? Let me know if you’re still having issues there and I can keep looking into it as needed.

Hey Mike, sorry this one slipped through the cracks. Is this still a concern for you? I will get Jonah to take another look if so.

Scott: definitely can see the value in there. We have that as a logged issue already, but if you wanted to drop it into our newly-minted Community events feature requests thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/community-events-feature-requests/) it’ll become a topic of discussion for our team as we plot future releases…

Hi there Youna. Thanks for the note here, and for the follow-up with that link. I am seeing the issue on your site; but it looks like the country functionality as a whole is not behaving as it should. Check out how that country selector is supposed to appear: .

Are you running Events Calendar PRO? If so, that allows you to set default venue information under Settings -> The Events Calendar, so the best route may just be to enable that if you’ve got it. That would allow you to have the country pre-selected (though a user could still change it as they saw fit).

As for the initial problem, though…you said that it doesn’t appear to be a plugin conflict, but what about the theme? Are you in a position where you can test reverting to the default 2011 theme, ideally with no other plugins active? Also, please confirm whether or not you’ve modified any of the calendar’s templates so far…and lastly, that you’re running Events 2.0.6.

We’ll try and troubleshoot accordingly for you from there. Thanks in advance!

Hey Naomi. Thanks for the follow-up; so if I understand correctly you’re all set here? The ability to have a sidebar-yes-or-no option for the forum is a very slick feature request! In fact, because I thought it was such a good idea I’ve just created a “Feature Requests” thread in the forum here (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/community-events-feature-requests/) for folks like yourself to help us decide what goes in the next releases. If you want to share your idea (and any others you have) in there it’ll certainly give it some weight 🙂

Cheers and please let us know if we can do anything else on Community…or Eventbrite, once you jump into it. Cheers!

Hey Spoa. Thanks for the follow-up, and glad to be of service. I believe we’ve exchanged via email so far to continue this discussion but please let me know if I can do anything else here.

Thanks Sheila. On the #2 issue…I am seeing the same issue on your test site, and so long as you don’t have any role manager plugins and haven’t modified the default roles in any way (please confirm if so) it sounds like there may be a bug of some kind there.

If you can keep that set of creds active and send me over an admin account for the same site, I can jump deeper into this issue and hopefully try to take a look at #1 too. Thanks in advance!

Hey Sheila! Thanks for the note(s) here, and my apologies for taking a couple days to address the initial message. Wanted to fully digest it before jumping in with a response. Now that I have…

#1. I assume this is only happening with submissions, and not regularly-created events? What’s weird is I just tried this on a couple different submissions (one using the “Trash” link that appears on hover in the backend list, another by checking the box and moving it that way) and both went without issue. Wondering if this is an issue related to your permalink structure or possibly a conflict of some kind…also just to confirm, you’re running 2.0.6 for both releases…correct?

#2. The admin should be able to edit all events, but if they’re editing an event that is not their own they would need to do so via the backend. (The frontend list of submitted events only shows “MY Events”, ie those submitted by the user currently logged in). It sounds like even with this in mind there is still a problem here. Can you set me up with a set of credentials to test as a non-admin user? Email the creds to pro /a/ tri.be with a reference to this thread and I’ll jump into it from there.

    On the customization end…

#1. The “Last Updated” is a specific requirement of the SEO microformats we introduced in a recent build to help with content getting indexed. I can get a dev to point you towards how to remove it, but you’re almost certainly going to take a hit from an SEO standpoint as a result. We advise against removing that unless you absolutely have to.
#2. Talked this over with Jonah today. You just need to edit /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/single.php, removing the link on line 55.
#3. At this point no dropdown for the categories exists, though based on customer feedback we may be adding this in a release shortly down the road. Maybe this thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wp_dropdown_categories/) will be of value in the interim?
#4. That’s a bit on the customization side…at this point there is no way for required custom fields on the frontend form, though as yours is the second request for this we’ve had in two days, I expect it’ll be included in 1.1 or 1.2 (our next two planned releases for early June and early July, respectively).
#5. I checked out an individual listing on your site (ie http://soco.hoffmangraphics.com/event/highline-garden-tour) and did not see the header in question. Can you give me a little more information so I can fully understand the issue, to try and guide you from there on this? Thanks in advance!

I *believe* that covered everything here. But let me know your thoughts after reviewing and I can follow-up as needed.

Michelle: just wanted to follow-up on the emails you’d send over earlier today (though I’m doing so here so we can track the discussion in one place).

As the thread above notes…this is an issue that we’re aware of and have logged, so while we don’t have an immediate fix to get rid of the notices, the problem should only be occurring if you’ve turned such notices on. You said in your email that you couldn’t get turning off the notices to work…mind providing some elaboration on that front? We can try to guide you through the appropriate process from there, which should tide you over until we have this patched/released in the coming weeks.

    Thanks Vanessa. Confirmed as received.

One question: I see that this file you sent over is marked as “edited.” Have you guys customized the plugin, which could be causing the conflict? Have you tried with an unedited version of the plugin to see if you experience the same behavior?

Hey Vanessa. While we can’t guarantee the plugin will integrate with everything else out there, we do try and assist with compatibility issues best we can on our end when conflicts like this come to our attention. We would need a copy of the plugin to test on (we won’t be running it on a live site; just local testing environments) but if you have that handy shoot it over to pro /a/ tri.be with a link to this thread, and I can get a dev to take a look from there as we do our next round of work on this release.

    Hope that helps!
