MemberIn the following topic, Rob said that notifications would be available in the Community Events add on. This was a response to a specific scenario described further up in the topic.
So, I went out and spent the money and come to find out, it doesn’t appear to be there. There are notifications of a new event, but the response in the forum post is referring to being able to set a reminder at a specific interval, etc from an event that is in the calendar. Am I missing something? This is something that our non-profit site has been needing for a VERY long time.

MemberHi there, Spoa. Thanks for the follow-up and for your purchase of community. I’m sorry to hear you’re not satisfied with the result here. A bit of background: the plugin that you’re using is the 1.0 release…the first build we’ve put out, which means it’s going to be lighter on features than something that’s been around a while. Though not as robust as what you’re looking for, notifications are included in the initial build as we’d planned. It’s worth noting that at the time of our exchange how those notifications would operate – though confirmed as a launch feature – was little more than an idea on paper, and not something we’d yet built or knew the exact specs of. When the time came to build the notifications we’d include with launch, we went with what we could get done in a reasonable amount of time to get the plugin live on schedule.
That doesn’t mean the notifications are a done deal and we won’t touch them again. In fact, what you’re noting is logged in our system as a proposed feature for a future build and is on the docket as we plot out future releases beyond the 2.0.7 of Events and the 1.0.1 of Community that we’re working to launch in early June.
All that to say…I’m sorry for suggesting robust notifications specific to what you’d requested would be included in the 1.0 build. While we’d hate to see you go, I would be willing to refund you the price of your purchase if you think that’s the right course. Shoot an email to pro /a/ tri.be.

MemberRob…thank you very much for the detailed response. I’ll have to follow up with the board to see if we want to allow input to the event calendar moderated or not. At this point, I’ll probably just advise that we sit idle with both products in the HUGE hope that reminder notifications come sooner than later. I don’t know what the requirements look like that are logged, but the one hope that I do have is that when notifications are made available, group selections are allowed rather than having to pick or provide individual email addresses. Thanks again!

MemberHey Spoa. Thanks for the follow-up, and glad to be of service. I believe we’ve exchanged via email so far to continue this discussion but please let me know if I can do anything else here.
