    Hi there,

    I just accessed one of your events and got the 404 error you mentioned. To get started, please access your Dashboard and head over to Settings -> Permalinks for a permalink flush (no need to change anything, just visit the permalinks page: WordPress will automatically flush your permalinks once you visit it). Be sure to clear your site cache and browser cache after this change. Does it help you to solve the problem? If the issue persists, please let me know and I’ll be happy to help you with the next steps!

    Cheers,

    Patricia

    Hey Carolyn,

    Thank you for reaching out to us!

    I did a quick test and was able to find the cause of the issue here: The .ics file exported from the calendar in your homepage (https://localmotive.org/?ical=1&tribe_display=month) has valid events, but with start and end dates in 2020 instead of 2018:

    DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20200520T120000
    DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20200520T130000

    To solve the problem, please export the events from your calendar page (https://localmotive.org/events/), using this link instead:

    https://localmotive.org/events/?ical=1&tribe_display=month

    Could you please let us know how are you adding this calendar in your homepage? Are you using a shortcode like [tribe_events view=”month”]? I ran a local test and wasn’t able to reproduce the issue in a fresh WordPress install so I believe there’s a plugin or theme causing this conflict in your website.

    To get started, I would recommend you to run a Conflicts Test. You can start the test by temporarily deactivating all of your plugins (except Modern Tribe plugins) and changing your theme to another one like Twenty Seventeen and let us know if the problem is solved after that (don’t forget to backup your database before changing anything).

    I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

    Cheers,

    Patricia

    Hi Harris,

    You are right, Google updated their interface, we will update our KB accordingly, thanks for flagging this!

    With their new interface, you just have to access your calendar settings (screenshot) and scroll down: In the end of the page, in the Integrate Calendar section you’ll find your public and secret address in ical format: you can use one of these links to import your events (screenshot).

    Regarding this link you just shared: http://www.facebook.com/ical/u.php?uid=585326082&key=AQAW-c6n5CKerVej

    I did a quick test and can confirm that it is possible to import and schedule imports from this URL using the iCalendar option (screenshot here).

    I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can.

    Thanks,

    Patricia

    Hey Mary,

    Thank you for reaching out to us!

    I was able to schedule an import for your events from webcal://tockify.com/api/feeds/ics/kxcjfm using the iCalendar option (screenshot here). Could you please give it a try and let me know if everything works as expected for you as well?

    Thanks!

    Hey Ronald,

    Thank you for reaching out to us! I’m sorry to hear about these issues you’ve been experiencing.

    Regarding the “Post types that can have tickets” option: If you are creating tickets only for events, enabling the Post option won’t affect/modify the existing functionality.

    If you experience the timeout issues again, I would recommend you to setup a staging site and temporarily replace your theme with another one like Twenty Seventeen to check if there’s a conflict. It’s also possible that there’s a server limitation causing the timeout, specially because the issue persisted even while having all other plugins deactivated.

    I would also recommend you to contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase the max_execution_time in php.ini. As I can see from your system info, your max_execution_time is set to the default value: 30s, but if your site has a lot of plugins/processes running, it’s probably a good idea to increase it.

    I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

    Cheers,

    Patricia

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out to us!

    To import events from Google Calendar you have to use your ical URL.

    On Google Calendar please head over to Settings > Calendars and select the calendar you wish to import.
    Scroll down to Calendar Address and click the iCal button (note: if your calendar is private, you’ll need to click the iCal button next to the Private Address header instead).

    Use the provided URL to import events into your WordPress site. You’ll find detailed instructions/screenshots here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/import-events-from-google-calendar/

    Unfortunately is still not possible to import events from Facebook. A number of restrictions were applied to Facebook’s Events API, which is the specific protocol Event Aggregator uses in order to import events, organizers and venues. Our team is actively working to restore the features that were directly affected by this change and you can check the progress on this page:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/

    You will find more information about this subject in the following link:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/

    Unfortunately we cannot guarantee if/when Facebook will approve our application to normalize the imports, but we are in contact with them and hoping to have everything working as expected soon.

    Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Best Regards,

    Patricia

    Hi Elaine,

    As I can see from here you are trying to update from version 3.11 to latest version 4.4.25. Since the gap between versions is big, could you please update both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO to version 4.0 first and make sure that the events are visible after this change? By doing this you can guarantee backwards compatibility and prevent the issue.

    You can download TEC version 4.0 here:

    https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/the-events-calendar.4.0.zip

    Events Calendar Pro version 4.0 is available in your Downloads page.

    If for some reason the issue persists, I would recommend you to send us a copy of your database (via Google Drive and/or Dropbox link, in a private reply), so we can investigate your case. If you are using phpMyAdmin, please follow the steps mentioned here to successfully export it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kristin,

    You are welcome! Yes, you can override the word “Date” on Month view by adding the following snippet in your theme’s functions.php file:

    function change_date_search_default_value() {
    	if ( tribe_is_month() ) {
    		$caption = 'Text';
    		return $caption;
    	}
    }
    add_filter( 'tribe_events_bar_date_search_default_value', 'change_date_search_default_value' );

    I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best Regards,

    Hey Kristin,

    Thank you for reaching out to us!

    To achieve what you want, please add the following snippet to your theme’s functions.php file and replace “Events In” with the text you want:

    function change_date_picker() {
    	$caption = 'Date';

    	if ( tribe_is_month() ) {
    		$caption = 'Events In';
    	} elseif ( tribe_is_list_view() ) {
    		$caption = 'Events From';
    	} elseif ( tribe_is_day() ) {
    		$caption = 'Day Of';
    	}

    	return $caption;
    }
    add_filter( 'tribe_bar_datepicker_caption', 'change_date_picker' );

    I hope this helps! If you have any other questions at all please feel free to let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can!

    Cheers,

    Patricia
