MemberHello Bart! As I mentioned in your other post, we know about this glitch – it is a timezone thing, and unfortunately changing the timezone settings in the WordPress General settings doesn’t help. It is definitely a logged issue and will hopefully be fixed in the next release of this add-on! Stay posted! And very sorry about this!

MemberHello Sean,
Yes, you can create categories in the Events Calendar Pro, however you will need to do a bit of customization to either:Colour your categories: https://theeventscalendar.com/coloring-your-category-events/
Integrate post tags and categories with events: https://theeventscalendar.com/integrating-wordpress-categories-tags-with-your-events/
Use our Advanced widget to display upcoming events by category.
Or you could create a WordPress custom menu to let users filter by drop down, and make sure you categorize all your events, the same way you would categorize posts.
You could of course, also use the regular “Search” widget in WordPress, but that would search your entire site.
There are other creative ways to do this, and we created a Themer’s Guide to the Events Calendar for such bright minds 🙂

MemberHello Marc,
Can you please elaborate on what happened to get you to the point that you can not access your admin? Which instructions did you use?
Did you see the notice at the top of this post? https://theeventscalendar.com/gravity-forms-events-calendar-submissions/ It says this solution does not work anymore.
We have another post on using Gravity Forms with the Events Calendar here: https://theeventscalendar.com/event-submissions-using-gravity-forms-in-2-0/
Also, can you please link to your site for us?
You may need to find another way in to your site (via FTP or through your hosting control panel) to get this fixed and to undo the changes you might have made.
When you restore your site, I would try these methods on a separate install or separate copy of your site so you can test the Calendar with all your plugins, and try different things without worrying about breaking anything.
Let me know how this goes for you!

MemberHello Don,
Have you tried importing “Registration Event” and did that not work for you? Do other types of events work for you when you import or create from the Events Calendar?
Just curious if you’ve had a look over of our New User Primer for the EventBrite add-on?

MemberHello Jason,
Both PRO and The Community Events add-on won’t work without The Events Calendar (free) plugin. You can think of that as the core plugin, and everything else as add-ons – nothing will work without it.There isn’t really a way to try the Community Events plugin without purchasing it, but if you have a really big problem you can always ask for a refund.
However, you may want to check out some of our documentation on this, which will give you an idea of how to integrate the calendar with your theme:
Themer’s guide to the events calendar: https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/
Technical documentation: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation
The Events Calendar with Genesis (in case this applies to you): https://theeventscalendar.com/tutorial-integrating-the-events-calendar-w-genesis/
I hope this helps!
July 3, 2012 at 1:33 am in reply to: Does Pro Give You An Option for Calendar View on Specific Page #21442Joyce Grace
MemberHi Bob 🙂
I guess not!
I think the main benefit to getting PRO is the recurring events and the advanced widget, and things like that.
But customizing the look of it is really usually theme dependent, and needs templates set up.
However, if we can help any further, Shane is wondering, “why on a separate page? I think we need more info about what he is trying to accomplish. Is this a navigational challenge or a code challenge he is trying to address?”
Did you really mean “page” as in on a WordPress page, or were you just using “Page” as a general word to describe when someone lands on a web page of a web site?
Oh dear – sorry if we’re making this so complicated!

MemberHi Rachel! Glad you got this figured out 🙂

MemberHello Jon,
Can you let me know if you are using the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of all our plugins and add-ons?Also, did any other events work for you? If so, could you pass those on, and then also pass on the event ID (not just the venue ID) of the one that didn’t work?
Thanks!
Joyce Grace
MemberHello Ryan, can you please link to your site and pages for us to have a look?
Are you using the latest version of all our plugins and the latest version of WordPress?
Can you also confirm that you’ve tried the following? This will help make sure we’ve ruled out all the most common sources for these types of errors:
3. Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to rule out a conflict?
4. Have you tried reverting to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if it’s something with your theme?
5. Try setting your permalinks to ‘postname’ in Settings > Permalinks?
6. Try refreshing your permalinks by visiting Settings > Permalinks (it does it automatically)?
7. Try increasing the PHP memory for your website: http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/?Joyce Grace
MemberHello Brian, are you using the latest version of all our plugins? And are you using the latest version of WordPress? I saw in the screenshot you needed to update to 3.4.1, but not sure if you’ve done that already.
Here are some other things to try, just to rule out all the most common possibilities for these types of errors. If you can confirm you’ve tried all of the following that would be wonderful, then I can better know how to source the problem:
Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to rule out a conflict?
Have you tried reverting to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if it’s something with your theme?
Try setting your permalinks to ‘postname’ in Settings > Permalinks?

Thanks so much!
July 3, 2012 at 1:02 am in reply to: Upcoming Events Widget – Can we omit certain events from displaying? #21436Joyce Grace
MemberHello Lydia!
Glad that worked for you 🙂
Yes, this is a Pro-specific widget. Have you considered getting a developer’s license for the Events Calendar PRO? You would then be able to install the calendar on as many sites as you like.Joyce Grace
MemberHi Rachel!
That’s great, it sounds like you’ve figured it out 🙂
Yes, you’re right, this is theme specific, so you’d have to work on it on that end.
Let me know if you need anything else!Joyce Grace
MemberOh, and yes, you could also custom code this ability 🙂
