Hello Thomas and Tim,
I am asking a higher level support person to take a look at this.
Thank you Tim for stepping in.Joyce GraceMemberHi Sarah, I think you’ve answered your own question! You will need to change the core files, but be sure to set things up so that you can avoid losses upon updating. Check out our themer’s guide here on how to do that: https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/
Do let me know how this fares for you!
Joyce GraceMemberHi Andrew, if you install WordPress SEO by Yoast he has options where you can customize the breadcrumbs and where they appear, even on individual pages. Why don’t you give that a go and see if it works for you?
August 28, 2012 at 1:51 am in reply to: Calendar will not display when using WooThemes Whitelight theme #24183Joyce GraceMemberHi Jordan, right now our search isn’t working so I wasn’t able to find solutions to this in particular with Whitelight theme. I will keep my eyes open though.
However for starters, can you try to make sure your permalinks are set to “postname” and if they are already, just try to reset them?
Can you also link to your site for us?
Thanks!
Joyce GraceMemberHi Tim, unfortunately things like this are outside the scope of support forums here. However I would say that if you are able to theme another area of WordPress, doing so on the Events pages would be the same process. You’d probably have to look online for more details regarding this, or post to wordpress.org – the community there is great and helpful.
August 28, 2012 at 1:42 am in reply to: Permalink conflict with Yoast SEO on recurring events #24180Joyce GraceMemberThat’s awesome! Glad it’s working for you! Are we good to close this thread now? I’m sure this will come in handy for many more people!
August 28, 2012 at 1:40 am in reply to: Recurring Feature suggestion – click day(s) in month view #24179Joyce GraceMemberThanks for the idea Dale! This is a great idea and I’ve heard of other people who want to have this feature as well. We do have an overload of feature requests to keep us busy well over a year now, but hopefully something like this will make it in the next cycle of our plugin…though we can’t say when!
Thanks for your input – it really does make a difference when we know more users want a certain feature.
Joyce GraceMemberHello Andrew can you please link to your site for us? Thanks!
Joyce GraceMemberHello Marc, we are also discussing this on this thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/exclude-one-category-from-event-list-view/
I’m trying to get a higher level support person to give some pointers there so if you can post you are in need of this help on that forum post it would be great. Thanks!
Joyce GraceMemberHello Thomas, I am very sorry you’ve been waiting this long for a response. Normally we get emails telling us when someone has responded to our posts, but I was not getting any due to a possible bug in our system (we are logging and tracking it now, so I will tell the devs about this). I am once again very sorry.
If you would like a refund by all means you can write us at pro /at/ tri.be to get that processed for you.
In the mean time, I would love to help you, but if you can not upgrade your WordPress there is nothing we can do. Our plugin is built to be on the latest standard of WordPress and to work on the Twenty Eleven theme, which is the gold bar for testing against whether something is coded correctly according to WordPress standards.
With that said, if you can not get on to a testing environment at least to set up your site with the Twenty Eleven theme, I’m also not sure we can help out. I have a very, very strong feeling you are experiencing theme issues. If this is the case, we need to know, otherwise it could be very difficult to find out why you are having these problems.
If you can meet us half way and do these steps for us, we can help out where we can. If it does turn out to be a theme issue, you’ll need to contact your theme provider about it.
Once again I’m very sorry for the delay in the response.
Joyce GraceMemberHello all, try adding !important to your style sheet where you are trying to make these changes. This might explain a bit about it: http://css-tricks.com/when-using-important-is-the-right-choice/
If you type in !important css into Google you’ll get lots of other stuff too 🙂
Joyce GraceMemberBy the way Michelle if you are able to build something I’m sure the community here would love to hear about it and what you did to get it working, so do please share!
Joyce GraceMemberHello Michelle, I had notice from Paul that this is really beyond our scope at the moment. There might be a fix for the 2.1 lifecycle, though I can’t say when.
Basically RSS feeds aren’t meant to behave in the style you are looking for – it seems you are requesting full event RSS feeds, which we’ve had a lot of requests for and have logged as an issue, but nothing has yet been deployed along those lines. As it stands now we have basic RSS feeds that work like they would on a regular blog (ie appearing by date of publication rather than date of event). You’ll need to build something on your own or find a third-party plugin that can do this if you needs it before we have something ready to go. Sorry!
Joyce GraceMemberHi Wayne, unfortunately you’ll need to do some code hacking to customize this. We don’t really support customizations here on this forum 🙁 I was hoping the documentation pages would be able to give you something.
That being said, let me see if one of the higher level support reps can provide a quick fix for this – no guarantees though.
