    Hi Berndt, on another forum posting I saw this, which might be the same issue you’re having: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/thesis-theme-and-no_sidebars-template/

    Hello Robert, in order for the paid add-ons to work, you have to first install the Events Calendar (the free one). They need to work in sync with each other. The paid options are add-ons, so they don’t stand alone.
    Hope this helps!

    Hello Berndt, I will try to see if I can get someone else to have a look at this, though it’s possible it may be outside the scope of support here because of the customization required (as noted in the forum that you pointed me to earlier). But let me see what I can do.

    Greetings from Canada 🙂 (I’ve been to Neuss, Dusseldorf, and Neckartzimmern – where I missed a train and couldn’t communicate with anyone except a very helpful bus driver. The train ride from Netherlands to Dusseldorf was cheaper than from Dusselorf to Neckartzimmern.)

    Hello again Ken!
    I just wanted to update you with something I didn’t mention. When you start using WordPress and plugins (whether paid or free), you will want to always be on the latest versions of everything. Otherwise it is very likely things will go ka-put on you. Think of it like changing oil in a car – eventually it will die (made that mistake once, never again!)

    Also, on a more serious note, not being up to date with the software you’re using can cause security vulnerabilities. It would not be fun to have your site hacked into and lose everything. It’s like buying insurance – we never think we need it until something happens, right?

    So I just wanted to add those little tidbits in there 🙂

    Hello Ken!
    Thanks for looking into our plugin! Thankfully, there is no kill switch 🙂 You are essentially buying a piece of coded software to plug in to your site, and you can use it as long as you like, even if it gets really, really old (like using an old version of Microsoft Office, or an old version of an Apple operating system, etc.). You can use it, but if you want support for it, or if you want the latest and greatest version (which will be more stable and more compatible with the latest versions of WordPress that will be released as time goes by), then you will need to renew your license.

    So in short, the one year of updates and support is just that – you get access to the latest releases of the plugin (they come out every month, with bug fixes, new features, etc.), and you get access to the support forums to ask us the most creatively coined questions you can think of to ask about the calendar 🙂

    Then when the one year is up, if you really miss us on the forums, and if you feel left out of the club of Events Calendar users who have the newest features and updates, you can renew your license and re-enter our wonderful world of The Events Calendar Plugin all over again 🙂

    Hello Craig, I tried to click on that link, and the only other page you have set up there, and it seems that only people with a login can see the page. I will need to see it to be able to understand fully what you mean by “vertical.”
    Or perhaps you got it sorted out?

    Regarding themes, Genesis would work well, and we have a full tutorial on getting The Events Calendar to work with that framework: https://theeventscalendar.com/tutorial-integrating-the-events-calendar-w-genesis/ (Genesis is my personal favourite, though it does take a bit of set-up time to get it to fit into a child theme easily)

    With Thesis, Headway and the WooThemes, while they don’t integrate seamlessly with our plugin right away, we see them a lot in our support forums, so people are definitely getting by and getting creative with those.

    Rob has told me this as well, “Brandon at Epic Era (http://blog.epicerastudio.com/) does solid themes that we know integrate with our plugins, and provide pretty solid responsive layouts at that. I often recommend him when people ask what themes we like.”

    Finally, we have a showcase! Maybe it will inspire you 🙂 https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/showcase-2-0/

    If you want to do something custom, or need to modify anything, you might want to check out our Themer’s guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/

    I hope this all helps, and do let me know about the “vertical” alignment stuff when you get a chance!

    Hello Brendt, I just want to make sure you’ve tried using the right template to achieve this for you? If you go, in your WordPress dashboard, under Settings > The Events Calendar >
    Then click on the tab that says “Template”.
    Depending on which theme you are using, there may be multiple options for choosing a template, and one of them might accomplish what you want it to do without having to go into the CSS.

    For example, I use Genesis, and I have the option to use either the “Default Page Template” (which comes with my theme), or “Default Events Template.”

    If I were to use “Default Page Template” then it would use the number of columns I have specified as the “default” in my Genesis theme settings.

    That’s just an example of how I would be able to customize it, because of the theme I’m using, but my main message here is to make sure you first try different Template settings in the Events Calendar Settings area before trying to change your CSS.

    Hello Berndt, can you try .sidebars instead of .sidebar_1 and let me know if that works?

    Hello Emmanuel,
    Good question. Depending on which part of the events calendar you want to change colours for, you can view our themer’s guide to customizing the calendar here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/ (you want to scroll down and pay attention to the heading that says “CSS”).

    It will also help to install Firebug on Firefox or use Chrome to be able to see the CSS elements of the page you want to modify.

    Not knowing exactly which part of the calendar you want to modify (i.e., the whole page, the list, the grid, particular events, etc.), here is a sample of what you could try adding to your theme’s style.css (preferably your child theme’s style.css, if it has one):

    #tribe-events-content {
    margin-bottom: 48px;
    padding: 1px 20px;
    position: relative;
    background: #ENTER-COLOUR-HEX-CODE-HERE;
    }

    Let me know if this works out for you!

    Oh I didn’t mention (silly me), that we just added this functionality for contributors in the 2.0.7 release today.

    Hello Chris! We released 2.0.7 today. You can try to update, but be sure to update both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar Pro. You may also need to re-save your permalinks, and don’t forget to clear your cache to view the calendar again in the new working-mode. Let me know how it goes!

    Hello Nicole,
    This is a really good idea. Right now what I can do is set you up with our in-beta CSV importer if you like. Just shoot us an email at pro /a/ tri.be and we’ll hook you in.
