Super excited to be here and to meet you all! Give me a shout and tell me a bit about yourself, I love meeting people, and I love talking. Actually I love talking coupled with drinking coffee even more, but since this is a forum well…I guess I’ll have to live with just talking 🙂
Joyce GraceMemberAwesome, glad to hear it 🙂
Joyce GraceMemberHello Christina et al! I am so glad to be here 🙂 Do please be kind, as I’m a digger just like you all, and have spent countless hours on support forums myself, so I know the pain that precedes someone resorting to a support forum!
Joyce GraceMemberHello Mike, no you will not lose any of your events by deactivating our plugins, however, just to be safe, I would do a database backup before you do this. Most hosting providers should be able to provide you with this free of charge, or show you how to do it in their control panel.
Keep in mind that when you deactivate, the events will be hidden for a while, but they are still there. The Events Calendar PRO version needs the ‘regular’ Events Calendar to work, and they both need to be on the same version number.
Let me know how it goes!
Joyce GraceMemberHello Heather, sorry for the delayed response. The only thing I can think of here is that maybe in the individual event you have comments turned off? In your event editing page, try to find a bar that says “Discussions.” In that settings area, there should be a checkbox that says “Allow comments.” Can you confirm that is checked?
If you don’t see the “Discussions” bar, try clicking on “Screen options” in the top right corner of your WordPress dashboard, near the area that shows your login name.” You will see a bunch of checkboxes there, and one of them is “Discussions.” Make sure that is clicked, and you should get the “Discussions” settings options below.
Do let me know if this fixes the problem, and if not, we’ll find another solution! Thanks!
Joyce GraceMemberHello EmTab,
You’re right! We’ve noted this issue, and it is already in the works. Thanks for bringing it up again. We are going to try to see if we can get this in a release earlier than 2.1 but no guarantees. If it doesn’t come out sooner, you can look for it in 2.1. However, in case you’re crossing you’re fingers in anticipation, it probably won’t be in the next release since June is around the corner, and we release them at the beginning of every month. 🙂Let us know if you note anything else!
Joyce GraceMemberHi Meg, glad to see you got this all figured out! Feel free to let us know of any other ways we can help!
Joyce GraceMemberHello Jim, that is precisely correct. The reason the Eventbrite event on that page can handle different credit cards is because it is using our Eventbrite add-on. To get a copy of this, you can go to https://theeventscalendar.com/wordpress-eventbrite-tickets/ and all the details are there. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!
