ParticipantHi Folks
I have just been importing events from Eventbrite, 4 imported okay but then on the 5th import I received the following error message:
ErrorThe following Eventbrite error has occurred: The specified venue name already exists for the current user and specified organizer id. The venue id is [2071114]
The event could not be made live as a result of this error.
The strange things is the event is imported and displays on my calendar, but everytime I try to update the event from within WP I get the same error.June 11, 2012 at 7:18 pm #20536Rob
MemberHey Jayson. That is definitely bizarre; I haven’t experienced this yet but it’s definitely possible there is a bug here. Can you share with me the event ID of that problematic event and I can try on my end to see what’s up? It’d be awesome if you could also drop in an event ID for one of the events that DID work. We’ll do our best to troubleshoot from there.

MemberI imported an event and then clicked publish and got a similar error:
The following Eventbrite error has occurred: The specified venue name already exists for the current user and specified organizer id. The venue id is [2107856]
The event could not be made live as a result of this error.July 3, 2012 at 1:23 am #21439Joyce Grace
MemberHello Jon,
Can you let me know if you are using the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of all our plugins and add-ons?Also, did any other events work for you? If so, could you pass those on, and then also pass on the event ID (not just the venue ID) of the one that didn’t work?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello, I am experiencing the exact same error. “The following Eventbrite error has occurred: The organizer name already exists. Please enter a different organizer name and try again. Note that your event was not registered with Eventbrite as a result. The event could not be made live as a result of this error.” I can only get an event to register if I assign it a new organizer every time. I tried deleting the troubled organizer and creating a new, but did not work. It does publish the event to my WP calendar, but fails to push it to Eventbrite. Any ideas? The organizer I am trying to choose is where all of our events are held, so this is an issue for us. Running ECP v2.0.8 and EBT v1.0.2

MemberHello Matthew,
Sorry you’re having this error. It sounds a little different though, since it seems related to the organizer name, rather than the venue name. For organization sake, would you mind re-posting your question to a new thread under “Eventbrite” so we can keep things organized here? It would help us a lot. Here is the link to the forum: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/forum/events/eventbrite-tickets/
In the mean time, when you post the new post can you confirm with me you’ve done everything in our new user primer to set up Eventbrite correctly?
Someone else had a problem with getting events into Eventbrite, it’s not exactly the same issue, but it may be worth a go if you’d want to try his solution: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/import-an-error-occurred-while-updating-eventbrite/#post-21196

The following Eventbrite error has occurred: The specified venue name already exists for the current user and specified organizer id. The venue id is [2412252]
The event could not be made live as a result of this error.Wordpress 3.4.1
Events Calendar 2.0.9

I have entered the eventbrite account id for all users of the site.
Happens with any event I try and import.
Quite and urgent one this! 🙂

MemberI don’t know if this issue is related, but just realized whilst 3 events have been added, none are showing on the event list or calendar pages here

MemberHi Tai, can you give me any sort of indication of what the Eventbrite data you were importing looks like? Just so I can attempt to replicate this.
