    Hi Tony,

To get us started can you please confirm you are at the latest versions of all our plugins, have updated to the latest WordPress, have tried deactivating all other plugins to rule out a conflict and have switched to Twenty Eleven theme to see if you get the same problem?

This will help me rule out all the most common causes of these errors.

Can you also try editing the next event recurrence to see if that works for you? It doesn’t make sense to me the need to edit an event that has passed.

    Thanks,

    Joyce

    Hello Chimo,

Thank you for writing. I tried to understand what I could from your translation.

It sounds to me like you are experience a theme issue conflict, and need to work with your CSS a little bit.

We don’t normally support this type of customization, but if I can get you help, I first need to know that you have tried all of the following to solve your problems, since these are the most common causes of things like this:

    1. Are you running the latest version of WordPress?
    2. Are you running the latest versions of our plugins (2.0.7)?
    3. Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to rule out a conflict?
    4. Have you tried reverting to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if it’s something with your theme?

If you can confirm you have done all of the above, we will be better able to help you.

Also, I need a link to your live site – not just screenshots, can you provide that to me?

    Thanks!

Here is my Mac’s translation of my response into Spanish for you 🙂

    Hola Chimo,

Hi Jen, which language are you trying to get translated? I can only see if we have that language translation file already (or you could even check). Some parts of it are controlled by WordPress itself, so you’d have to get translation files for that too.

Let me know if this is what you are asking – not sure if I get your question completely, or if you’ve already tried all of the above.

    Hello Ego Web Solutions,

Can you help confirm for us that you have tried deactivating all the other plugins, as Jonah asked? Can you also try to revert to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if you still have this problem?

    Thanks!

    Hello David!

    Thanks for writing us 🙂

Unfortunately, since this is a theme specific issue, we can’t provide much support for it. Have you asked your theme provider if they can help?

However, we do have a Themer’s Guide that might help: https://theeventscalendar.com/themers-guide-to-the-events-calendar/ as well as our technical documentation page: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation

I know you’re not using Genesis, but the Guide we have to integrating the Genesis theme framework with our calendar could provide a lot of insight into what is involved when getting a theme to work with our plugin: https://theeventscalendar.com/tutorial-integrating-the-events-calendar-w-genesis/

We try to be proactive to work with theme providers to make sure our plugin works with their frameworks, but since there are so many themes out there under the sun, and not all are built according to correct WordPress standards, it’s hard to maintain compatibility with all of them. We are trying to take active steps to get our plugin to work with the most popular theme providers – more news on that when things are finalized (not for a while though!).

Sorry I can’t be of much other help!

Hi Tom (sorry about the Tony thing – I must have had Tony in my mind from a previous thread!),

No, please don’t post your admin and password here – everyone will be able to see it and your site would become very insecure!

Thank you for confirming all of this with me.

Still curious though, you mentioned events/community/list is a problem for you – can you link to your site where I can see that?

Have you definitely enabled the “Enable users to edit their submissions” in Settings > The Events Calendar > Community as shown here: http://cl.ly/2p2s2X3e0V2g2S1s2a2n

If you can answer the above questions on this thread that would be great.

If the problem still isn’t fixed, can you write to pro /at/ tri.be with your login credentials, linking to this thread and explicitly stating you give us permission to log in without us being held responsible for any changes? We won’t change anything though, we will only look – it’s just a disclaimer 🙂

Hi Jason, that is a bit clearer. But yes, you need to be an admin to have permission to make an event live. Otherwise anyone visiting your site would be able to do that, and that would be the purpose of setting up the restrictions in your Events Settings. You can change those restrictions if you like, they are under WordPress Settings > The Events Calendar Settings

Hi Carter, supporting customization is really outside the scope of these forums, however if you can find a way to get us to view what you have done to the ecp-page-template.php file, I can see if one of our higher level support reps can take a look, but no guarantees. You are right though, there seems to be something strange happening with your templates.

Can you tell me if this happens to you when you use the Twenty Eleven theme?

Also, can you try to disable all plugins, then reactivate one by one to see if any them cause the problem?

Finally, can you try to re-save your permalinks to ‘postname’ in Settings > Permalinks?

Are you running the latest version of all our themes?

You’ll need to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress before I can get higher level support in here. You should create a backup if you’re not sure just in case, before upgrading.

Hi Peter, I noticed there wasn’t an actual address entered there. Could you try entering a street address and see if that helps? I realize this may be hard with parks, but it should at least get us one step closer to fixing this issue.

    Thanks!

Hi Carter, did you try setting up your permalinks to something other than the default and other than the category permalinks?
That might help bring back the menus – I’ve heard of this breaking on some people’s themes because of permalinks.

As for the header and footer being removed, this sounds like a theme issue. What theme are you using? Did you make modifications to it? There are a lot of themes out there that aren’t up to par with WordPress standards, but of course, on the other hand, sometimes our plugin doesn’t integrate well with certain themes. We try to be proactive in solving these issues with the most common theme frameworks out there. We have a tutorial on integrating our plugin with the Genesis theme framework. While it may not be exactly what you are using, you may be able to glean a lot from it, https://theeventscalendar.com/tutorial-integrating-the-events-calendar-w-genesis/

    Hope this helps!
