KeymasterHi Ruta,
Thanks for sending the link! I took a look, and this does appear to be the same issue we identified last week. I haven’t seen any other reports so far of this issue persisting after the latest updates, so just to make sure we’re covering all of our bases here, can you verify that this site is running both WordPress 4.8.2 as well as the current versions of The Events Calendar (4.6) and Events Calendar Pro (4.4.17)? Also, if it’s using any caching plugins, such as WP Total Cache for example, that you’ve cleared the cache from within that plugin?
I’d recommend doing a quick conflict test as well if you haven’t done so already. If you don’t have a testing environment for that site, the WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of the live site that you can use for testing.
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Adam,
I’m sorry that didn’t work for you. You can try using “post_date” or “modified” for the orderby parameter with the shortcode, or you could also try a plugin like WP Latest Posts (I haven’t tested it out, but it looks like it might do what you’re looking for). There appear to be several plugins out there that help you display posts with a custom sort order, so I’d recommend doing a search for a similar plugin if that one doesn’t work for you. Otherwise, I’m afraid you’ll need to go with WP_Query or tribe_get_events(). If you go this route, I’d also recommend taking a look at our themer’s guide to help with the customization.
I’m sorry I don’t have a more straight-forward solution for you here, but I hope this helps!

KeymasterHi Noah,
I’m sorry the update didn’t resolve this, but thanks for sending the link! I did some testing but was not able to recreate the issue, however I did see that there may be an outstanding issue related to Google imports with recurring events…would you be able to do a quick test and see if this is only happening with recurring events or in imports that include a recurring event?
Also, it would be a good idea to try testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins if you haven’t done so already. The WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing, if you do not currently have a testing environment.
We also released version 4.6 of The Events Calendar recently, so if you haven’t done so yet, please make sure you update to that version before doing the testing.
Let me know what you find!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Bob,
Thanks for sharing the link! I see what you mean now. Unfortunately, there are some technical restrictions that currently make it difficult to prevent the HTML from being stripped from the automatically generated excerpt on an event. However, you can manually set an excerpt that will accept HTML by entering the text into the excerpt box on your event edit screen. I know this isn’t a perfect solution, but for now that would be the only way to use HTML in the excerpt. I would recommend taking a look at this article for a more in-depth explanation on the reasoning behind this and plans for better solutions in the future, which we are working on!
I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Sarah,
I’m glad the issue with the month view was resolved! I’m not aware of any previous issues with recurring events like the one you’re describing, but could you please send me a screenshot of the edit screen (specifically the recurrence rules section) for the two events that this happened on, as well as a link to the event on the front end of the site? Also, it sounds like this happened once before you updated and again after updating?
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Susan,
Thanks for clarifying and for posting this as a feature request! I did some investigating here, as some HTML can currently be included (a, b, i, strong, and em tags), but unfortunately ‘ul’ and ‘li’ are not currently on that list. You can see this by taking a look at line 213 in /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/Tribe/Custom_Meta.php. You technically could add ul and li to this list, but please note that modifying core files is not recommended as your changes will be overwritten whenever you update the plugin.
I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you, but I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi there,
Tickets are essentially WooCommerce simple products, so you should be able to use WooCommerce add-ons in conjunction with tickets, as you would other types of products.
I’m glad the article is helping, but if you run into any issues or have any questions please let me know!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Christoph,
I’m sorry about the delayed response, our forums have been a bit busier than usual lately (please also note that support is typically only available during weekdays). However, I think this issue likely has to do with permalink settings and potentially site caching as well.
I would recommend going under Events > Settings > General and making sure the default slugs are set for Events URL slug and Single event URL slug (see screenshot). Then, try saving the permalinks again under Settings > Permalinks, clear out the cache from within WP Super Cache, and try saving the permalinks one more time. It looks like you are currently running the All-in-One calendar form Timely as well, so it would also be a good idea to deactivate that plugin before running through these steps in case there is a conflict there.
If the above does not resolve the issue, the next step would be to try testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins, if you haven’t done so already. If you do find a conflict, please let me know what is was with and send any relevant error messages/screenshots – we are limited in the amount of support we can provide for plugin conflicts, but we will take a look and see what we can recommend!
We are not able to log into user sites for security reasons (and unfortunately it looks like you may have tried to attach a screenshot earlier that didn’t come through)…If you don’t have a testing environment already, the WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of your site that we can use for testing. If you set up a testing site (or have one already), please deactivate all plugins besides The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, activate a default theme like Twenty Seventeen, and send me a link so I can do some further testing on my end.
Apologies again for the delay, but please let me know how this goes – I’d really like to help you get this resolved!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi John,
I’m sorry that updating has been such a hassle for you! You should be able to go into your plugins section and click to update when you’re prompted to do so, without having to deactivate any plugins. I’m not sure what happened here with your recurring events disappearing, but it sounds like you were able to get everything running correctly at the latest versions?
Going forward, I would recommend updating everything simultaneously in your testing environment before doing any updates on your live site. This way you can be sure that the newest versions and your theme and other plugins are all playing nicely together before rolling the changes out to your live site!
If you have any other questions or are still running into any issues with this set of updates, please let me know!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Philip,
I’m glad to hear you were able to get this resolved! Tickets created as WooCommerce tickets actually create WooCommerce simple products that are associated with the event, but RSVPs are handled differently. So, switching a ticket between the two isn’t quite so simple. However, you can set the price to “0” for WooCommerce tickets, so keep that in mind if you wanted to change from a free ticket to a paid ticket or vice versa.
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread, but please feel free to open a new one if you have any further questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer
September 25, 2017 at 11:07 pm in reply to: Tickets categories and exclusions for promo codes #1354746Jennifer
KeymasterYes, once you set up the ticket categories you should be able to create coupons within WooCommerce and assign them to apply to certain product categories, and then you can test them out and make sure they’re working the way you’d like.
If you get stuck please let me know!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Bedros,
Thanks for clarifying, and I’m glad you were able to get it partially working the way you’d like! I would recommend taking a look at the settings under Events > Settings > Tickets > WooCommerce Support. I think your best bet would be to hold off on completing the WooCommerce order until the second payment has been received, and you can change the settings here to only generate attendee records and email tickets when the order status has been changed to “completed”. As far as setting when the order status is changed, you would need to configure that on the WooCommerce side (possibly through one of the plugins you are trying to use?), or you could also set this with a customization. If you’d like to go this route, our themer’s guide is the place to start! We also have a list of recommended developers if you’d like to get help with the code.
You might also take a look at a plugin like this one from Woo to help control when the order status is changed.
I’m sorry I don’t have a more straightforward solution here, but I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions or if you get stuck on the code – I’ll be happy to take a look and try to point you in the right direction!
Thanks,
Jennifer
September 25, 2017 at 1:56 pm in reply to: Multi-Day Event that spans into the next month not showing up in the next month #1354536Jennifer
KeymasterHi Zach,
Sorry to hear you’re running into this issue, but I’ll be happy to help you figure out what’s going on! Just to clarify, are you creating a single event that starts 6/28 and ends 7/8 or a recurring event that recurs every day during that time? If you could send me a link to an event that isn’t continuing on into the next month, as well as a screenshot of the event edit screen for that event, that would be helpful as well.
Can you also try testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins? If you would prefer not to do this on your live site, WP Staging will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing. Let me know what you find!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Adam,
Thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately there is not currently an out-of-the box way to order the events by publish date, but you might try using the [display-posts] shortcode. The post type for events is ‘tribe_events’.
You can also use WP_Query or tribe_get_events() to create a custom events list, but if you want to display it in a section on your home page, I think the shortcode would be the easiest way.
Let me know how that works for you and if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer
