ParticipantI have a client importing their calendars via Google Calendar. When they update a title or change the date for an event a new event is being created rather than overwriting the title/details of the event already imported. This is causing the calendar to display both events rather than the correct one.
I have attached two screenshots, one of their current live site using an iFrame of the Google calendar and one of the development site using the EA. Under Event Update Authority I have it set to “Overwrite my event with any changes from the original source.”
I am running the following versions:
The Events Calendar – Version 4.5.13
The Events Calendar PRO – Version 4.4.17
The Events Calendar: Filter Bar – Version 4.5September 23, 2017 at 5:53 pm #1353937Jennifer
KeymasterHi Noah,
I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this issue…this was a known issue but should have been fixed with the latest maintenance release a few days ago (4.5.13). I see that you are currently running that version – can you do a quick test in your dev site and verify that this is still occurring after you updated to 4.5.13?
If so, is this happening with manual imports, scheduled imports, or both? If you could send me a link to the calendar you are using so that I can do some testing on my end, that would be helpful as well.
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi Jennifer,
This is still happening even after the update of the plugin.
This is happening with both manual and scheduled imports.

KeymasterHi Noah,
I’m sorry the update didn’t resolve this, but thanks for sending the link! I did some testing but was not able to recreate the issue, however I did see that there may be an outstanding issue related to Google imports with recurring events…would you be able to do a quick test and see if this is only happening with recurring events or in imports that include a recurring event?
Also, it would be a good idea to try testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins if you haven’t done so already. The WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing, if you do not currently have a testing environment.
We also released version 4.6 of The Events Calendar recently, so if you haven’t done so yet, please make sure you update to that version before doing the testing.
Let me know what you find!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
