    Hi Jeremy,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We do have an extension that will let you use a shortcode to list venues and organizers, but currently it doesn’t have parameters to filter by city. However, you could do a PHP customization to get it to work this way or to pull your own list into a page template for example. Our themer’s guide has some great info on customizing our plugins, and I’d also recommend taking a look at this list of functions.

I hope that helps! Please note that we are a bit limited in the amount of support that we can provide for customizations, but if you get stuck, please let me know – I’ll be happy to point you in the right direction!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Sam,

Thanks for reaching out! You can change the link with a customization of the list-widget.php template, found at wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/views/widgets/list-widget.php (line 112). You can copy that template into your child theme by following these instructions and then edit it there.

Let me know how that works for you and if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Charly,

Thanks for checking out our plugins!

    1. It looks like in that particular example site, the theme is having a large influence on the calendar styling, or they made a few customizations to the calendar. Unfortunately our calendar doesn’t come out of the box with the scroll bar that you see in that example, but you can see what it looks like by default over on wpshindig.com. Sorry for the misunderstanding there!
    2. Using Filter Bar, users can filter by category, so you could create “tourist” or “local” categories. You can see an example of this on wpshindig.com as well. If you don’t want some of the other filter options (like “Country” for example), you can disable them in the settings.
    3. The license is for one year, so you would need to renew it after that time if you still want to update the plugin and have access to premium support. Event Aggregator is a little bit different in that it is a service vs. a plugin that you download, so you would need to renew the license to continue to have access to the service. For our other premium plugins/extensions, you would still have the plugin installed and working on your site, but you would not be able to update them without renewing the license.

I completely understand where you’re coming from as far as cost. We do have two free plugins (The Events Calendar and Event Tickets), so I would recommend installing those on a testing site and seeing how they work for you. If you find that you need some additional features, you can take a look at some of our premium plugins, which we do offer full refunds for within 30 days of purchase if you’re not satisfied with them. Feel free to test them out!

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Lindsey,

If you use the “date” parameter with the full calendar view shortcodes, you can display events starting from a certain date, even in the past. You can also add a category parameter to limit the results to certain categories. While you can currently only add one category per shortcode, if you wanted to specify multiple categories you could do so by creating a parent category for the ones you want to display and then setting the parent in the shortcode.

I hope that helps! If you need further assistance with this, would you mind opening up a new thread and referencing this one? That will help us keep things organized and provide more personalized support!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Ginnie,

I’m sorry you’re running into this issue as well, but we will post an update here as soon as the fix has been released!

Thanks for clarifying! I think the simplest way would be to change the end date to be the date that you want the event to stop showing up on the events page, or you could also create an “active” category and assign that to auctions that are still active. Then, you can use a shortcode to display only these events. Would that work for you?

I’m not sure how else to include events that are still active without including all past events…we need to have a “marker” that we can use to only grab those past events that are still active. Does that make sense? If I’m misunderstanding what you’re looking for, please let me know!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for sharing that link! I tested it out, and it is importing and setting the image correctly on my end (see screenshot). Since I’m not able to recreate the issue, this could be due to a conflict with your theme or another plugin. Could you do a quick conflict test and see if you are able to find anything? If you don’t have a testing site already, the WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing.

We have also released new versions of The Events Calendar (4.6.1), Events Calendar Pro (4.4.18), and Filter Bar (4.5.1), so please make sure you’re using the current versions when you do your testing.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry you’re running into this issue, but I’ll be happy to help you figure it out!

I tested this out on my end but was not able to recreate the issue. Is this happening with all recurring events or only certain ones? If it’s only some of them, can you check to see if they have anything in common (such as being featured events, etc.)?

First, I would recommend upgrading to the most current versions (I don’t think this will resolve this particular issue, but it’s a good place to start!). The Events Calendar is at 4.6.1 and Events Calendar Pro is at 4.4.18. If you don’t see a prompt to update in the Plugins section of your WordPress Dashboard, you can do so manually by following these instructions.

Next, can you try testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins? If you would prefer not to do this on your live site, WP Staging will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing. I would pay special attention to Yoast when testing, as the settings there can sometimes result in odd behavior related to links.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Eric,

I did check with my team on this one, and none of us have been able to recreate the issue. I did notice you mentioned that you tried testing with all other plugins disabled, but I would recommend testing with a default theme as well (and all other plugins disabled). However, we cannot provide support here in our Pre-Sales forum, so if you still need assistance with this, please let us know over in our community forum or in our premium forums by purchasing a license.

    Thank you!

    Hi Leif,

Thanks for reaching out! You’re right, this is a known bug that affects multi-day events spanning into the next month, but the good news is that we should have a fix out soon! I’ve attached this thread to our internal ticket, so as soon as the fix is released, you’ll be notified here.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but thanks for your patience as we work on getting this resolved! If you have any questions in the meantime, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Bradley,

    Thanks for reaching out!

There isn’t an out of the box way to do this, but you can do it with a small customization. First, you can copy the template for that page into your child theme by following these instructions. The template can be found at wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/src/views/community/modules/taxonomy.php. You can then add the following code to the template in your child theme, just above the foreach block on line 42:

    // set default category
    if ( 'tribe_events_cat' === $taxonomy && 0 === get_the_ID() && empty( $value ) ) {
    $value = array(16); // Default category term ID
    }

You’ll need to replace the ’16’ with the ID for the category you want to set as the default. You can find the category ID by going to Events > Event Categories and clicking on the category – it will appear in the URL (see screenshot).

Let me know how that works for you!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Vladimir,

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry that page is showing up so badly! This is likely due to a conflict with your theme or another plugin. Can you test this out by following these instructions? If you would prefer not to do this on your live site, WP Staging will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing.

Can you also verify that you are using the most current versions of our plugins? If you don’t see a prompt to update on the Plugins page of your WordPress Dashboard, you can do so manually by following these instructions. The current versions are:

    The Events Calendar: 4.6.1

    Events Calendar Pro: 4.4.18

    Event Tickets: 4.5.6

    Event Tickets Plus: 4.5.5

    Community Events: 4.5.6

    Community Tickets: 4.4.5

Let me know if updating helps and if you find any conflicts!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi William,

Thanks for reaching out! You can use the shortcodes that come with Pro to display events on any page you want, but they unfortunately don’t currently support sorting by date. However, I just tested this out, and the most recent events are showing first using [tribe_events view=”list”]. Are you getting different results, or are you trying to include past events as well?

Let me know if the [tribe_events] shortcode works for you or if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi Renaud,

I’m glad to hear you were able to get this resolved, and thanks for sharing your solution here! If you haven’t done so already, I’d recommend taking a look at our themer’s guide, as well as the tribe_get_events function, which is very similar to WP_Query but meant specifically for pulling custom event queries.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
