    Hi Nadja,

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.

This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Basically the goal here is just for me to confirm that this issue is present on the latest version of our plugin.  I cannot guarantee that I can provide a resolution to this issue.

Please also note that support for theme conflicts is limited as stated in our support policy.

You may also want to reach out to your theme developers in the meantime to see if they have any solutions for you on this issue as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Chieko,

As a first step, can you please update your Events Calendar related plugins and see if that helps to resolve the issue?

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Tony,

One option would be to create a backup of your site before updating and/or to create a staging site for testing purposes:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-using-wordpress-staging-site/

Another option would be for you to install the third-party plugin, Health Check, which can mimic a bare WordPress install while your site visitors still see your site the way that it normally appears.

However I completely understand if you’d rather wait until the end of your ticket sales.

Let me know how it all goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

I understand what you mean.  Another option would be for you to install the third-party plugin, Health Check, which can mimic a bare WordPress install while your site visitors still see your site the way that it normally appears.

Also, I visited your site and did not see that header on your main events page.  If you are still seeing the issue, can you provide me with a link to where you are seeing the issue?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Cameron,

Thanks for providing me with that information.

Events are all imported in UTC, not the timezone of the event

It looks like your site is set up with a different timezone (New York), so events should import in that timezone.  I believe you already have the timezone set to use the local timezone under Events Settings < General and Show Timezone, is that correct?  If not, try using this setting instead.

Events are only imported until mid-September 2018, but my calendar has events through January of 2019

Can you try changing your import date range under Events Settings < Imports to something further in the future, or set Import Limit Type to Do not limit and save changes.

I’m not sure if it is a matter of the UTC offset, or the fact that the iCal import is a different source, but proceeding with the iCal import creates duplicate events.

Can you try changing your Event Update Authority under Events Settings < Imports to Overwrite my event… and Save Changes.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregator-import-settings/

After making these changes, try your import again and let me know what you see.

If you still see the issues, can you provide me with the URL that you are trying to import, so that I can do some testing on my end?

Also, can you enable and check the Event Log under Events < Help to see if you see anything unusual?

Right under that is your Event Aggregator Status. Can you take a screenshot of what you see there?

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Vladimir,

Thanks for providing me with that information.  Unfortunately if things aren’t importing, there isn’t a lot that we can do at this time.

We are working hard to find a solution so that our users will be able to use the Facebook importing feature again, however I cannot make any guarantees at this time.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime.

    Thanks,

    Hi Mike,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to achieve the results that you are looking for.

You can take a look at the events-calendar-pro/src/views/pro/photo/single-event.php template, and adjust that template to suit your needs.

Here are some articles with all of our shortcode options:

Let me know how that goes and if you have any other questions along the way!

    Thanks,

in reply to: Different facebook imports are cancelling each other #1510428

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access/) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an affect on a number of our users.

We are currently figuring things out as they continue to evolve with the Facebook Privacy Policy. For now, the best places to check in on the status of our plugin’s access to Facebook are https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/.

It seems that it works best if you are the admin of the Facebook page in order for events to be imported, but right now we cannot make any guarantees.

Let me know how that goes and if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Price differences #1510415

Thanks so much for reaching out!

There are a few ways that you can handle this type of situation.  One would be to utilize a third-party plugin, like Members, in order to create a members-only calendar.  You can provide members with the URL to this calendar, and it would have the special pricing listed there.

Here is more information on how to create that type of calendar:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-members-calendar/

Alternatively, you can offer a coupon code to members that they can enter at checkout.  This can be created through WooCommerce coupons.

You could use one of the third-party role-based discount plugins for WooCommerce out there.  Here is an example of such a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-role-based-price/

    Hi Matt,

Thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in our products!

Unfortunately, a feature like that does not exist through our plug alone, but you may be able to customize our plugin or integrate a third-party plugin in order to make that functionality work.

I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to achieve the results that you are looking for.

If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:

    Hi Nadja,

Thanks so much for reaching out again!

Can you provide me with a link to where you are seeing this issue?

In the meantime, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    • A conflict with another plugin
    • A conflict with your WordPress theme
    • A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    • Make a backup of your database
    • Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
