Hi, I have a strange thing happening to one of my ticket sales orders and not sure how this happened (or how to keep it from happening again).

A customer placed a order for our event for 4 tickets, for a total of $240. However, within the total it is also including the cost of another event for $2.00. This extra event was a test event I created while testing the software before going live and is hidden from the event listings, so no one can see it.

Is this a known bug where other events are being included with in a different event? I have not seen this happen on any of the other ticket sales, so not sure why it happened on this one.

There are also duplicate entries for these tickets that are “processing” on the screen as well. Is there a way I can tell from the screen if these “processing” orders were also charged or the payments went through, or why they are still in “processing”?

    See screen shots attached.

    Hi Tony,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

This is not a known issue, and I haven’t seen something like this occur before.  Would it be possible for you to just delete that test event to avoid this from happening?

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Let me know if anything else comes up in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Tony,

Thanks for providing me with that information.

Can you update your Events Calendar related plugins and test if this issue still occurs?

If it does, can you take a screenshot of the events that seem to be linked, so that I can try to replicate things on my end?

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,

I am hesitant to update any plugins at this point as we only have a week left of ticket sales and I don’t want anything to get messed up. I had read that some people who updated to the latest version of the plugin had problems after that, and I can’t chance it as everything as (mostly) been going well so far, and we just have too much money riding on this for anything to happen. Once the ticket sales are over, I will update all the plugins and do some testing, then let you know if there are issues. So far that glitch only happened on one order and nothing since. We also did have an order come though without the special instruction information, which is set as required, but that was only one order so far.

    Thanks.

    Hi Tony,

One option would be to create a backup of your site before updating and/or to create a staging site for testing purposes:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-using-wordpress-staging-site/

Another option would be for you to install the third-party plugin, Health Check, which can mimic a bare WordPress install while your site visitors still see your site the way that it normally appears.

However I completely understand if you’d rather wait until the end of your ticket sales.

Let me know how it all goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics.
