ModeratorHello and welcome back,
The iCal Importer is a standalone plugin, meaning it needs to be purchased in order to import .ics files.
I hope this answers your question 🙂

ModeratorHey Dale,
Unfortunately, theme conflicts extend beyond what we’re able to cover here on the support forums. (See What support is provided for license holders?)
If it gets beyond your level of expertise, please review our list of customizers as I’m sure you’ll be able to find a developer to assist with the conflicts.
I truly apologize we can’t do more here and wish you the best of luck. Cheers!

ModeratorShaun,
I believe if you have an excerpt in the add/edit event ‘Excerpt’ field, it overwrites the filter. I’m glad the workaround provided is working and please feel free to open a new thread if you have any more questions or concerns. Cheers!

ModeratorHello and welcome back,
We always try and help the best we can, but without having access to your site, which I’m unable to do, it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on with the sidebar. Please review our What support is provided for license holders? article as it outlines these details.
I understand if the process comes off as difficult, but it’s essentially copying the contents of one file, creating a new file, and saving it. How you choose to edit/extend those files are essentially left to you.
The developers on your team should be able to track down why the sidebar isn’t displaying properly. Please have them review Themer’s Guide and New User Primer and they shouldn’t have too much of a problem resolving the issue.
I hope I’ve clarified our position on the matter and I encourage you to direct your developers to the aforementioned articles and revisit the Events > Settings > Display options panel. Sorry we can’t be of more assistance here and good luck resolving the conflict.

ModeratorHey Jordan,
I attempted to reproduce the issue by following the steps you provided but was unable to do so. Can you please confirm whether or not the issue occurs after reviewing the Testing for conflicts guide? Reason I ask is because we don’t have any logged bugs of users reporting any similar behaviors, so this leads me to believe there is likely a theme and/or plugin conflict in play.
Please let me know and have a great Monday. Cheers 🙂

ModeratorHey Ben,
Welcome back. Are you able to add/edit tickets on the back end of your web site on the add/edit event page? Thanks for the response and have a good afternoon. Take care!
Hunter
ModeratorHey Jordan!
Look who it is 🙂
Please review our Setting Up Your Google Maps API Key article, then try and test the issue as outlined in the Testing for conflicts guide and report back if the issue still occurs.
As always, we are unable to provide support for theme conflicts as outlined in our ‘What support is provided for license holders?‘ agreement.
Have a great weekend. Cheers!

ModeratorHello and welcome 🙂
Before we assume something went wrong with the transfer, can you please review our Testing for conflicts guide and reply back with your findings?
Keep me updated with your progress and have a great weekend. Cheers!

ModeratorHey Charles,
Happy Friday and welcome back!
I’d be more than happy to try and reproduce the issue. Before doing so, can you please review our Testing for conflicts guide and reply back with your findings?
Thank you and have a great weekend.
Cheers!Hunter
ModeratorHello,
Unfortunately, the free version of our plugin doesn’t allow for importing events via .ics files. You’ll need to purchase the iCal Importer for that type of functionality. Please let me know if this sufficiently answers your question and have a great weekend.
Cheers!

ModeratorHello,
Sorry to hear about the strange behavior. I’d be happy to investigate, but before doing so, can you please review our Testing for conflicts guide and reply back with your findings?
Thanks and have a wonderful weekend. Cheers!

ModeratorHello,
The best way to go about this would be to “hack” their overwrites within [your-theme]/tribe-events (created by your theme author) so the featured image URL links to the event.
@Mathew nailed it right on the head as this will need to be handled through your theme author or custom development as theme conflicts extend beyond what we’re able to support. (see What support is provided for license holders?)
Thanks to the both of you and please feel free to reply back with any more questions or comments you have. Cheers!

ModeratorHi and welcome,
I’ll try my best to help out here, but unfortunately theme conflicts extend beyond what we’re able to support. (see What support is provided for license holders?)
Do you have any custom templates saved in a folder named tribe-events that resides inside your theme folder? Example: [your-theme]/tribe-events
More info on custom templates can be found by reviewing our Themer’s Guide.
It would also be helpful if you could send over your System Information as a private reply. Thanks and have a great weekend 🙂

ModeratorHey Don,
Thank you for reaching out. Improved import performance has been addressed in Events Aggregator, which is set to be released soon. Ultimately, site performance/load times are ultimately left to the customer barring a rogue bug, which we usually jump on and release a fix quickly.
I’ll provide you with some documentation on increasing the performance for your site:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/caching-month-view-transients/
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/caching-basics/
- https://theeventscalendar.com/the-events-calendar-performance-considerations/
- https://theeventscalendar.com/favorite-developer-plugins/
I personally recommend WP Rocket for a caching plugin. If you have dozens of Facebook page IDs entered into the Events > Import > Facebook Import Settings > ‘Organization and page usernames / IDs to fetch events from‘ box, try removing some/many to see if your performance improves until Events Aggregator is released.
Keep an eye on our Release Notes for more information. Best of luck and please feel free to respond with any more questions or concerns you have. Cheers!
