I appreciate your patience with this issue William, it’s some odd behavior for sure but the key facts are that this issue persists, as you noted, even with all other plugins disabled and a default theme activated…

So there could be a bug somewhere deeper down in our code, I will make a ticket for our developers to explore this possibility.

For now, http://rethinkdowntown.com/feed/?feed=rss2&post_type=tribe_events still works well for me and I hope it’s a good interim solution for now while we investigate this and such.

Do you think this URL will be a good solution in the interim? Let me know what you think here.

I’m sorry for the lack of a concrete action step from this point, but for now the best thing I can manage is to explore this bug a bit more myself, and to see if other developers on the team can, too. If we’re able to find a bug and fix it, I should note that such a fix would not be publicly available in a release for at least a month or so from here, roughly.

    Thank you!

    Hey Lana,

Our “WooCommerce Tickets” plugin, and also The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, are not causing errors as far as I could see. There are no JavaScript bugs, etc.

So it could very well be either a theme conflict or plugin conflict, though it doesn’t appear to be from our own Tribe plugins.

To figure out what the conflict is, your best option is to run through these troubleshooting steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

    Cheers!

Just issued the refund Peter 🙂 Sorry things couldn’t work out, but your politeness (and your willingness to try our plugins to begin with) is much appreciated – best of luck with your site!

Thanks for the update Gerry! Unfortunately, this does sound like a theme conflict and your best course of action is to contact the theme developers – they may indeed be able to point out if there’s a missing file or something like that. I, unfortunately, am not sure of that myself.

Best of luck with your site and with snuffing out this conflict! If any other questions/comments/concerns arise, come back and open a new thread any time 🙂

    Thanks,

    Hey Vincent,

The domain shouldn’t make a difference as far as renewing a license, but I’m curious, do you mean to say that when you went to http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/license-keys there was literally just nothing there?

Thank you for your patience with this! Just to note this, none of your plugin functionality will be hindered by the failure of the license to register. Everything will work fine within the plugin code even if you don’t enter it – the license just signs your site up to get Update notices and for support.

This is obviously still something we need to fix! 🙂 Just wanted to note that in case you were worried that your site would have issues without the license.

    Cheers,
    George

Sorry Awave, I’m very sorry to bear the news that no, we cannot get a fix for this conflict in place fast enough for your needs. It’s something we can look into, for sure, but I can’t promise we’ll be able to fix this and if we can, it would not make it into a release for at least several weeks and maybe even more than a month or two.

I’m very sorry about this. Let me know if you have any further thoughts on the matter or if there’s anything else I can try to help with.

Hey Matt, thanks for the info – just to be clear, when your plugins were disabled and a generic theme was active, did you try the “Save Permalinks” trick I mentioned? Did it make no impact?

I understand your frustrations with this problem but it’s hard to figure out where along the way this all happened. I will rope in a developer for some insight on what could have caused this.

In the meantime, let me know about the question above and hopefully we can keep going from there.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the update Bud, and your willingness to activate the Twenty Fifteen theme. I’m curious – can you proceed with the plugin-related deactivation steps outlined here? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

This may seem tedious but is, fortunately, much quicker to work through than it seems. And this is an important step because I still can’t recreate the problem or think of a why “undefined” would be appended to those URLs unless there was some weird JavaScript conflict from a plugin or something…the debug process I linked above will help reveal or rule out such a conflict.

Thanks for your patience here – let us know what you find if you can test your plugins!

    Hey Elisa,

For the specific question of this thread, which is increasing the amount of events in the widget, the only options are these ones you listed:

    Widget -> up to 10 🙁

    Modification funcions.php (overwrites all?)

At this time, the other options you listed will not address this and will not change the amount of events that show in the list widget.

    I’m sorry to disappoint!

    Cheers,

    Hey William,

What are your site’s “Permalinks” settings? The RSS feed for events should be “prettier” than the link you posted here at the end.

Your feedback about our documentation is appreciated and definitely something we can improve. I should note that the behavior on your site is a bit unique, however, and I’m failing to reproduce similar problems. With that in mind, it’s also worth noting that the “comments” thing about your feed doesn’t quite mean that it’s pulling in a feed for comments instead of Events, that’s a weird default response that WordPress’s empty feeds serve up (which, as you noted earlier, happens here on http://theeventscalendar.com’s events feed URL too).

    Hey Peter,

I do not see any emails from you, I’m sorry to bear that news. Maybe there are email server issues on your end of things, or maybe our spam filters are being too aggressive and accidentally blocking your email?

You can post your order number here in a Private Reply, I’ll look up that and issue a refund from that.

    Sorry Robyn,

The single back-end feature is quite a complicated one and not one that is supported out-of-the-box 🙁

Showing events for a given day is a bit easier to pull off, though there isn’t a widget for that and so you’d still have to custom-code the solution for it.

It does sound like The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro can get you “close” to what you need, but perhaps not close enough – these features you mention would require a healthy amount of custom code. We don’t offer support for custom code but you can find a list of developers we often refer for The Events Calendar customizations here: https://theeventscalendar.com/find-a-customizer

If you’re interested, you could reach out to any of them and see if they can help you build features like this.

Sorry to disappoint Robyn! Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with 🙂
