Matt
ParticipantAfter upgrading to version 3.11 all event permalinks are missing. For example the event titled: Free Summer Concerts: Tres Guitarres has it’s permalink as http://www.wranglernews.com/event// . I’ve resaved the permalink settings in WordPress settings and Events Calendar as well.

ParticipantHey Matt,
Sorry to hear about this, this is an odd issue. There are a few details that it may be helpful to clarify at the outset, namely these ones:
1. What version of The Events Calendar is active on your site?
2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is active on your site? (I assume this is 3.11, as you mentioned)
3. If active, what version of Community Events is active on your site?
4. What version of WordPress itself is running on your site?Next, you wrote this in your post here: I’ve resaved the permalink settings in WordPress settings and Events Calendar as well.
Can you clarify exactly what your WordPress settings are, and also what settings you’re referring to specifically when you mention the permalink settings for Events Calendar?
All of this information will help paint an accurate picture of how things are on your site, which can of course be quite helpful for the purposes of troubleshooting. We can take things from there once some of these key details are known – thanks in advance for providing them!
Cheers,

ParticipantHi George,
1. What version of The Events Calendar is active on your site? 3.11.2
2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is active on your site? 3.11.1
3. If active, what version of Community Events is active on your site? 3.11
4. What version of WordPress itself is running on your site? 4.2.4Wordpress Permalink is set to Day and Name: http://www.wranglernews.com/2015/08/16/sample-post/
The Events Calendar Permalink settings I was referring to are the Events URL slug and Single event URL slug.If I edit an event and edit the Permalink, which was http://www.wranglernews.com/event//, the event keeps the new Permalink.
Send me an email or private message if you want to login.
Thanks,
Matt

ParticipantHey Matt,
Thank you for both the details you provided here, and for the offer to login to your site – however, we cannot log into user sites for any reason, so I will unfortunately have to turn that down 🙁
I’m sorry to ask another question about the specifics of what’s going on here, but I’m just a bit confused, because you wrote this in your most recent reply:
If I edit an event and edit the Permalink, which was http://www.wranglernews.com/event//, the event keeps the new Permalink.
1. Do you mean that you had originally edited an event and set its permalink to just /event//? If so, why? And why two slashes like “/event//” instead of “/event//”?
2. Next, do you mean that if you change this back to just a straightforward permalink based on something like the event’s title or something, that it works fine?
Apologies for my misunderstanding – I just want to be 100% certain of the state of things so I can help you most effectively.
Finally, number three:
3. What are your settings specifically for the “Events URL slug” option and the “Single event URL slug” option?
If you address each of the three items in this reply, hopefully that’ll paint a clearer picture of what’s going on with your site and I can offer some more specific, actionable help from there. Thank you for your patience in the meantime! 🙂

Participant1) After the upgrade all event permalinks were set to /event// without user intervention. It seems after the upgrade the text between the // is missing. Before the upgrade each event had an unique permalink based on the title.
2) Correct. If I change an existing events link it will work.
3) Events URL slug: events
Single event URL slug:eventAugust 17, 2015 at 2:50 pm #996753George
ParticipantThanks for clarifying this Matt!
It seems after the upgrade the text between the // is missing. Before the upgrade each event had an unique permalink based on the title.
This is a bizarre issue that I unfortunately have never encountered. There are few possible things I can think of that could cause this, but for now, can you first share your system information with us? Here’s a knowledgebase article that shows how to copy and paste that system information into a reply here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thanks for your patience here, I’m sorry your site produced this issue but hopefully we can figure out the culprit.

ParticipantThanks for this information Matt. Unfortunately, I still am not sure what could have caused this, though it could have been a plugin or theme conflict on your site.
One thing that might help is to run through the troubleshooting steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
With one additional step: after each step in that process, after each plugin deactivation in other words, go to Settings > Permalinks in your admin and just click “Save Changes” without actually changing anything.
That may make a difference.
If you find any luck with this method, and somewhere along the way your permalinks return, let us know!

ParticipantAlready disabled all plugins and used the generic theme. I haven’t looked at the database yet but the permalinks are still missing.

ParticipantHey Matt, thanks for the info – just to be clear, when your plugins were disabled and a generic theme was active, did you try the “Save Permalinks” trick I mentioned? Did it make no impact?
I understand your frustrations with this problem but it’s hard to figure out where along the way this all happened. I will rope in a developer for some insight on what could have caused this.
In the meantime, let me know about the question above and hopefully we can keep going from there.
Cheers!

ParticipantNo change when I tried it. At this point would it be ok to create new permalinks for each event?
August 24, 2015 at 5:54 pm #998637George
ParticipantYes, absolutely Matt. For those permalink slugs to have been wiped out hints out something that went wrong with your database or another deep part of your WordPress site, not The Events Calendar itself, so if you make new permalinks they should hopefully not be problematic.
