Good evening Sophie and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

I’m trying to get the excerpts in the text boxes beneath the images to be set to the same height so everything is aligned on this page – http://www.developmentpreview.co.uk/tbudds/cooking-classes/

I tried using the ‘Read More’ tag in the editor but it hasn’t had an affect. Could you please point me in the right direction as to what to do?

The easiest solution to what you are looking to do is to use the Excerpt meta box in your Events posts.
If that box is not displaying on your page, you can get it to appear using the screen options at the top right of the Edit Event screen.

Basically, the plugin will look for any content in that box. If it can’t find any, it will then resort to displaying the content from the post itself (which is why you are experiencing variable lengths).

Finally, you can totally make things automatic by changing the excerpt’s length in the functions.php file of your theme.

Also, on the same page, the title of the back is ‘Upcoming Events’ and the back button is ‘Previous Events’ is there a way I can change ‘events’ to read ‘classes’?

Absolutely! Please read the following article on that topic and you should be good to go.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening,

    This is an excellent question.

It sounds like there is a theme conflict or a broken theme customization going on.
It would probably be easier to help you out with your system information (in a private reply), but in the end it is totally up to you.

Some WordPress theme are notorious for not playing nicely with other plugins, which is why we have a couple of theme specific patches available.

But, if you want to tackle this on your own, you should start by reading  our Themer’s guide.
There is a good chance you might already have a customization in place which you can verify easily by looking for a tribe-events folder in your theme.

If you do indeed have such a folder, then it will be a matter of comparing the customized file to the untouched file from the plugin.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Rachna and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

We are sorry to hear about the missing translation.

Thank you for your interest in our products and we’ll be glad to answer your question.

You did not specify which of our plugins you are using (the free version or one of our premium plugins).
That might slightly change the suggested solution to your issue.

It sounds like the language files you are using might need an update.
My colleague George has a great thread on that topic, you might want to read it.

If you are indeed using the free plugin, perhaps it’s just a matter of grabbing the latest version of the language file here and replacing the one in place on your site ?

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Peter,

I’m glad to hear you have found a workaround. Kudos!

That being said, stay tuned, there will be a release of a fix for recurring events and you will get notified when it’s out.

    Have an awesome day!

    Hi Bark,

Sorry for the delay answering back, the “Pending fix” status kept your question off my radar, my bad. We are considering adding the code back as an option or making a tutorial out of this as you know, hence the status.

To answer your question, that’s pretty much it. Let me know how that works for you.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Maikol,

Some of the items you are asking about are actually handled by WordPress (not by our plugins):

    • User log-in
    • Forgot password

For these items, I suggest looking at the WordPress codex.

Furthermore, there are no APIs per se for the other points you are asking about.
But, provided you (the programmer) use the proper functions hooks, you can probably achieve what you are looking for (change behaviour, set values, extend functions, etc..).

For example, if you wanted to work on what happens when a ticket gets scanned, you would have to look into private function _check_in().

That being said, just to set expectations, the scope of our support does not extend to developper support. In other words, we do try to get you started, but we don’t provide complete support for customizations and app development.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Is there anything else I can help you with ?

    Have a great day!

    Hey Amin,

I am sorry to hear you could not find the culprit in spite of all your valiant efforts!

You are right, using a professional customizer is probably your best bet.

All the best of luck on this project and please know that you are always welcome back if you have any other question.

    Best regards,

Good evening Annette and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the site crash. Yikes, that’s aweful!
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

I believe you should know that normally, our plugins do not update on their own.
The built-in behaviour is that you get notified every time an update is available,

But you and you alone should get to decide if and when you want to apply the updates.

This leads me to believe that there is probably something in your WordPress wp-config.php file our in the functions.php file of your plugin that triggers the auto-update.

To prevent this from happening again, I suggest reading the following page from the WordPress codex.
This should enable you to control what gets updated and when.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Dan and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products and we’ll be glad to answer your question.

is the pricing for the calendar Pro a one time fee?

That’s a great question. The answer is: it’s up to you.

What I mean by that is that this fee will provide you with 1 year of updates and support.

If at the end of that year you still want to continue using the Events Calendar Pro, you can.

However, we cannot guarantee that it will be compatible with future versions of the Events Calendar or with future versions of WordPress. Furthermore, you will no longer have access to premium support.

Let me know if that helps.

Good evening Vytenis and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products and we’ll be glad to answer your questions.

    1) Can I create single tickets (1) and ticket packs (10-pack)?

You can create multiple ticket types for each event. These ticket types will have separate names, pricing and stocks, etc..

    2) Is there any sort of conditional logic with ticket products? My event would be a banquet, and I’m trying to create the functionality where once a customer chooses an option (single vs. 10-pk), they then must choose a banquet meal for each ticket (drop down or buttons, not text area).

No, unfortunately not at this point. But that would be a very nice feature to add.

    3) In regards to max tickets per event, can products with two options (single vs 10-pk) share the same max number? Meaning if there are 500 tickets, it’s not 500 single tickets and 500 10-pk tickets, but 500 between both options.

Unfortunately, at the current time, there is no global stock feature, meaning these tickets are not interdependent when it comes to managing stock. But it is a feature we will soon be working on.

Based on your needs, it sounds like you would probably be better off handling the complex ticketing part of things through a plugin such as WooCommerce Composite products.

Of course you could still use the Events Calendar for the Calendar part and provide an URL to the ticket buying portion of things.

    4) I would especially need the SKU and meal option to appear on the cart/checkout/email.

Based on that last need, I am absolutely convinced you should let WooCommerce take care of the totality of the process when it comes to tickets. WooCommerce (with or without extra plugins) lets you customize all of these things to your liking.

Is there anything else I can help you with ?

Good evening Ken and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the conflict caused by certain posts.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

As you stated, we cannot guarantee compatibility with themes (although we try our best to do so).

That being said, we still try our best to get our wonderful clients started on the right track to resolution 🙂

With that in mind, I have a couple questions for you (hopefully these will help):

    • Have you tried going through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website)? Let us know what you find out. Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is. In other words, I would make sure that the issue is indeed the theme you are working on before anything else. You might be surprised about what you find out.
    • If you don’t mind, could you also give us a bit more information about the template you are working on (in a private reply if you prefer) ? Is it made from scratch ? From a framework ?
    • I am not able to see any errors or layout issues in the list view of the page you sent. Could you please expand on that ?

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
