MemberHey Kam,
Thank you for sharing your solution. The second plugin is actually the one I was using.
I’m super stoked that things are working for you now.
You are welcome back on our support forums any time 🙂
For now, I am going to close this thread.
Have a great week!

MemberGood morning Jukka,
Thank you for writing back.
I think i’ll leave it as it is for now. It’s too much work to do the customizations only for that one page
I totally respect that you feel this way. However, it’s far simpler than it seems in my humble opinion.
Mainly, what you need to do do is copy the main calendar view to the /tribe-events/ folder of your WordPress theme / child theme and add the title tag you want in there (you can hide the other via CSS).
Other views now get “Events – sitename” title and i can manually change organizer, event location titles, single event etc. Actually i didn’t see that calendar view front page month on my sitemap, does it even get indexed by crawlers?
This is super odd. I believe the culprit is your theme’s archive.php file (which is adding the sitename to the mix).
The main Calendar page is actually not a page, but an archive. This is why it does not show on your sitemap.
As a result, it will probably not get indexed by crawlers, but your single events will.
On the second prob, how much customization would it require? Hiring anyone for now is out of the question. You should consider this feature as an option for future updates on the widget!
That is a great question.
As you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
So the short answer is I’m not sure exactly how much customization would be required.
But, by taking a quick look at the code, what I can tell you is that I don’t think this is a big effort (1 to 2 hours of work max, depending on your skill level). With that in mind, I can totally see how this would be a very cool feature to have.
I would encourage you to open a feature request here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas
That way, other people can vote for it and it can gain traction.
Let me know if you have any other questions on these topics.
Have a great day!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. The good news is that our plugin is built in a way that allows customizations.
This is achieved by a combination of things. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
As you will see, there is a full section on how to customize tickets.
Let me know if that helps to get you started on the right track.
Have a great day!

Some plugins such as theme my login will actually take over the login form automatically.
But, as per your specific question, I believe my colleague Brian has the best answer: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/login-page-template-for-community-events/#post-1007011
Let me know if that helps.

MemberHello again Kam!
1) How do I make my event so that anyone can purchase tickets? Not just logged in users?
This will depend on your setup (I am still unsure what your system information is for now).
The good news is that normally, users that are logged out should be able to purchase tickets by default.
So we will have to find out what is preventing the default behaviour from happening (EDD setup, completing the moving to Event Tickets Plus procedure, theme, etc…)2) Where do I change the redirect, as currently when you click add to cart, it goes to a webpage that no longer exists.
This is normally determined in Downloads > Settings > General
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the error messages you are receiving while trying to import Facebook events.
I would love to help you with this topic.Typically, the 504 error message happens at the server level, not as part of the code itself. It’s either Facebook or your hosting provider that has the issue.
By the looks of it the issue resides at your hosting provider and your shared hosting plan limits their ability to increase the timeout threshold for you.
The easiest solution, from a technical point of view, would be to have a different hosting plan.
Ideally one where you can control the timeout limits and with sufficient server power to handle the task at hand. Some kind of Virtual Private Server Plan or optimized WordPress hosting plan would completely fix this.
That being said, I realize that this might not be an option for you.
As such, I would like to see if we can’t tweak things on your current install and make sure that things run to their full potential.
As a first step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Finally, would you mind providing me with a couple of Facebook feeds that you are using so that I can run some tests ?

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.I have tried adding a title to the default month view page that is the front for my calendar. I’m using all in one seo pack and tried adding this code to functions.php… But the default calendar page title is still only showing my site name.
As a first step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Secondly, to add a title, you have a couple of options on the table:
- Use a template customization for your month view. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
- Try changing the Events Template dropdown option in Events -> Settings -> Display to see if that helps (switching from your theme’s archive template to your theme’s page template for instance).
Question about countdown widget. I have set it to show the next event, but i don’t want it to show any text for the event that has started. So i would like it to just hop on to the next event countdown straight away after the countdown is finished for the current.
This is a good question. The default behaviour of the widget (when set to the “next event” option) is to:
- Display the next event title (as a link to the actual single event details)
- Display the countdown before it starts
Once that Event start time has been reached, the plugin will:
- Display the time left to the event that has just started (if you are still on that page when the event starts)
- Display “Hooray!” if you land on the page where the countdown is while the event has started.
Once that Event end time has been reached, the plugin will:
- Display the next event’s countdown and title
The good news is that you can indeed modify the behaviour of the countdown widget.
But, that will require some template customization on your end. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works. You can also read about it at the bottom of the following page: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-the-events-countdown-widget/
As an alternative, you can also hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

Previously I was using the EDD Tickets plugin, but this seems to be replaced with the new events ticket plus plugin.
That is correct. That plugin has simply been incorporated in the Event Tickets Plus plugin.
If you haven’t already done so, I would recommend reading the following article on that topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-tickets-plus/
On my end, if I try to reach your check out page, I get a 404 error message with the link that you provided me.
Perhaps, there is something to be fixed under Downloads > Settings (The checkout and Gateway tabs) ?
If you are unsure, could you please provide me with screenshots to these settings on your site ?
The good news is that on my end, the combination of EDD with Event Tickets Plus and Stripe works like a charm. So let’s try to do the same for you.

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this specific issue.
As it turns out, unfortunately, there is currently no support for tickets while using recurring events.
As you found out, what ends up happening is that there is only 1 set of tickets for the whole series of recurring events. The good news is that we have started working on this feature, as you can see here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/3685663-recurring-event-support-for-tickets
It is too early to provide you with a release date yet, but we are really looking forward to add this feature as soon as possible.
In the meantime, it looks like the only temporary solution would be to have separate events.
In order to save some time, many of our users are using the following third-party plugin to avoid copy-pasting the same info over and over: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Let me know if that helps.

MemberGood evening Bruce,
Thank you for writing back and for the additional feedback from Kriesi.
I am sorry that this piece of code was not helpful to you in the context of using tickets in pages.
“Please switch to the default editor if you intend to use the plugin for pages. It’s NOT going to work with the advance layout builder because the builder is using another template called template-builder.php file to render the page. Or ask the plugin author what callback function to use so that we can add it in the template.”
I will follow-up on this one with Dev for you. I know we have a great relationship with the good folks at Kriesi, so that should go well.
This will have to go to tomorrow though. Thank you for your patience on this.

MemberHello again,
Thank you for writing back.
I did some additional research on that topic and it looks like 99% of the people that migrated from All-in-One Calendar used the .ics export option to do so. In fact, this is what Timely suggests: http://time.ly/document/user-guide/using-calendar/exporting-events-calendar/
The good news is that by using our iCal importer add-on (https://theeventscalendar.com/product/ical-importer/) that should be fairly straightforward.
I haven’t found any instances of this being achieved from the raw database unfortunately. But, my personal recommendation would be to use the ics solution.
Let me know if that helps.

MemberGood evening Fernando,
Thank you for writing back with an update and thank you for the screenshots.
That allows me to answer your earlier question: the Events tab should not have any negative impact on the calendar displaying or not.
My wordpress expert changed the setting to display the day view only and that allows the calendar to populate. Note that the it only displays the current day. No matter what day we look at. This has been an ongoing issue with the calendar for the last year.
Based on that fact, could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?
The calendar will still not display the month view. Currently we have about 5600 events loaded, with settings removing events after one month and populating one month in advance.
I believe that this might be related to the issue at hand (the creating recurring events one month in advance part). Not that there is anything wrong with that setting of course.
You see, when we released the Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2 , there was a glitch associated with recurring events that creeped in there.
We were made aware of that on Friday and we released 4.2.2.1 to patch that specific issue. I recommend updating Pro as a first step.
Secondly, in the process, and provided your large number of events, I highly recommend asking your WordPress expert to add the following snippet to your theme’s or child theme’s functions.php file : https://git.io/vKl0q
This will clean any recurring event issue that might have been generated by the glitch in the update.
Should the amount of events be a problem? Seems it should not.
You are absolutely right, the number of events should not be an issue provided your web server is decent (and that it did work very nicely up to recently).
But, since you have a lot of events and that you want to be using the month view, I would recommend asking your expert to add the following snippet to your theme’s or child theme’s functions.php file : https://git.io/vKl8t
Basically, that should speed up your month view display.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards and thank you for your patience and understanding,
Geoff B.Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Bruce,
Thank you for writing back and for providing additional information.
In regards to the issue you had while editing some recurring events, we did notice an issue with the Events Calendar Pro 4.2.2 and recurring events.
I don’t know if the update to 4.2.2 fits the timing of that issue. But in case it does, you will be glad to know that we came up with a fix for that in version 4.2.2.1 that was just released earlier this week.
Furthermore, in order to clean any remnants of recurring events issues we suggest adding the following snippet to your theme’s functions.php : https://git.io/vKl0q
The /events page returns an HTTP ERROR 500 while, if I deactivate the plugin I get a 404 page.
The 404 page is normal when you deactivate the plugin, but the 500 error message is not.
Reset Settings/Display to Skeleton, saved Permalinks – no change
Actually I was suggesting that you try changing the Events template setting (Default Events Template, Default Page template, etc..). Could you try that as well please ?
Finally, If you haven’t already done so, could you please update the Events Calendar to 4.2.2.1 ?
Hang in there as we work on fixing your site.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
Geoff B.Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Nadia,
Thank you for writing back.
I’m glad my suggestion can act as a temporary solution. Please stick with us as we try to figure this out.
I have some additional suggestions to help us troubleshoot what is going on:
- I believe that the cause of the issue might have been with the recurring events. There was a glitch with recurring events going out of control with 4.2.2 . We were made aware of that issue on Friday and we just released 4.2.2.1 to fix that. We also recommend using the following snippet to rebuild recurrences that might have been corrupted in the process: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/51a6449d1d81f5e60d13994477cdd84c You might give want to add it to your theme’s functions.php
- Is the performance issue affecting all views ? (list, month, day) Or just some of them ? The reason I am asking is because we just released the following snippet as a performance improvement for the month view (which your site would certainly benefit from given the number of events): https://git.io/vKl8t . You might give want to add it to your theme’s functions.php
Once both of these are done, if you are up for it, I would recommend another attempt at updating to the latest versions. Perhaps on a test / staging / local clone website to prevent impact on your live site (I can help you with that process if you want).
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
