I was wondering if one is able to import a csv file that is an untouched csv export of the All-In-One Event calendar database? I ask this because All-In-One Event calendar does not include past events when using their export feature (although, its database contains both past and future events) and I’d really like to include past events when transferring events to The Events Calendar.

    Good evening and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I would love to help you with your question.

I was wondering if one is able to import a csv file that is an untouched csv export of the All-In-One Event calendar database?

Yes, you can achieve that via our built-in CSV importer tool.

There are some rules, of course, but it’s pretty straight forward.
Please read the following articles on this topic:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-the-events-calendars-csv-importer/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Are there any known instances for when someone was able to import the raw database of All-In-One Events calendar into The Events Calendar?

This is probably an issue that I would need to contact All-In-One Events developers about since the main problem is understanding what their database columns represent even before I can import them into The Events Calendar. This is an example of a single row from one of All-In-One Events calendar tables:

1,”182.16.157.235″,”1383842486″,”GET”,”greattaste.staging.wpengine.com”,”/calendar/action~month/cat_ids~5874,93,181,5581,1700,1701,5875,39,1346,50,169,166,1343,87,5889,174,1702,99,13360,5605,6750,6747,113,1154,125,1704,147,5710,287,86,1345,43,5888,1355,1145,108,5559,15044,6069,1705,15040,5711,5709,15039,15041,15042,15043,1147,”,”cache.file”,”WARN”,”An error occured while saving data to /home1/greatta1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/cache/30fd825f_ai1ec-response_month_jsonp_2013-11_5874_93_181_5581_1700_1701_5875_39_1346_50_169_166_1343_87_5889_174_1702_99_13360_5605_6750_6747_113_1154_125_1704_147_5710_287_86_1345_43_5888_1355_1145_108_5559_15044_6069_1705_15040_5711_5709_15039_15041_15042_15043_1147_12564_15045_1356_1357_1358_160_5576_92_1148_38_1353_77_5188_5560_1747_5601_5610_1149′”,”23624″,”/home1/greatta1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/lib/strategy/cache_strategy/class-ai1ec-file-cache.php”,”53″

    Hello again,

    Thank you for writing back.

I did some additional research on that topic and it looks like 99% of the people that migrated from All-in-One Calendar used the .ics export option to do so. In fact, this is what Timely suggests: http://time.ly/document/user-guide/using-calendar/exporting-events-calendar/

The good news is that by using our iCal importer add-on (https://theeventscalendar.com/product/ical-importer/) that should be fairly straightforward.

I haven’t found any instances of this being achieved from the raw database unfortunately. But, my personal recommendation would be to use the ics solution.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Thank you for looking into this. The reason why I was hoping to import their raw database is because All-In-One Event Calendar doesn’t include past events when using their ics export function. It seems I may have to lose my old events, though really it’s more of an issue with All-In-One Events Calendar.

    Good evening,

It is my pleasure. I wish I had a better answer for you.

Unfortunately, unless Timely’s has another solution, your only other option would be to export your DB table into a CSV format and clean the file from there to match the examples provided above.

    Best of luck with that.

You are welcome back on our support forums any time 🙂

For now, I am going to close this thread.

    Have a great week!
