MemberGood question and that depends. Were there perhaps any changes to your theme or child theme (for example CSS) that might have affected the styling? There were also some changes in the widget markup from 3.9 to 3.10 but those should have affected you if you were upgrading from 3.10 to 3.11.
Thanks for your patience while we figure this out together!

MemberHey James! I appreciate you following up!
Do you happen to have a link to that test site where I can see the issue? Also, if you could include your system information in the reply (feel free to mark it a private reply) from the Events > Settings > Help screen of that test site, I would love to review that as well.
Thanks a TON!

MemberYeah, there were a number of new strings added in 3.10 that replaced older strings. Definitely use synced versions of the plugins to make sure all the functionality and strings are consistent between The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO, then try heading to the translations site for the latest French files.
Cheers!

MemberHi William and thanks for getting in touch! Nice mockups–I really like the direction you’re headed in with the calendar. ๐
I do want to note first of all that we are fairly limited in terms of helping out with custom development questions like this one. That said, I’d love to point you in the right direction if I can.
To start, I’d definitely suggest getting familiar with our Themer’s Guide. It covers the entire process of creating custom layouts with template overrides, which you will certainly be using. It also covers custom styling as well.
Let me know if you have any specific questions that come up from that and I’d be happy to help as best I can. ๐
Cheers!

MemberAh, I see. The Events Calendar is not currently compatible with WPML, so I wonder if there may be an issue there. In other words, translating the string in WPML may not necessarily update the slug as well.
Does deactivating WPML, switching the site’s primary language to French and clearing the site’s cache/permalinks have any effect?

MemberHi Stickman! Man, I love that avatar. Probably my favorite one in these forums so far. ๐
Goof question. There is no online demo for WP-Ecommerce Tickets. However, we do offer a full refund on all our products within 30 days of purchase. I find that taking the plugins for a test drive in your own environment is the best way to tell if it will work for you, so hopefully that gives you a nice chunk of time to give it a bash.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know and I’d be happy to answer any follow-up questions you have as well.
Cheers!

MemberHi Dominic and sorry for the trouble here!
By chance, are you running a different version of The Events Calendar than The Events Calendar PRO on your site? For example, if you recently updated The Events Calendar to the latest version (3.11.1), then make sure you also have the latest version of The Events Calendar PRO (3.11.1) installed as well. Running versions out of sync can certainly lead to issues like this, so that’s worth checking out.
Cheers!

MemberHi Xavier! I’m stoked to hear you’re checking out The Events Calendar and I hope it’s a good fit for your project. ๐
Great question. Event categories do support hierarchies in a parent-child relationship–so one category can definitely be filed under another.
As far as displaying and searching those categories, you might want to consider our Filter Bar plugin as an add-on. It adds a variety of filters to the event search feature that makes it much easier to filter events by specific categories.
Also, it’s worth noting that we offer a full refund on all purchases within 30 days of receipt. I’d definitely suggest taking the PRO and Filter Bar plugins for a test drive and feel free to return them if they don’t fit the bill for any reason at all.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know and I’d b happy to answer any follow-up questions you might have. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHi @Gregory, thanks for getting in touch!
If you’re seeing English words in the plugin’s Frenchย translations, then it’s likely because the French translation is incorrect or incomplete. We rely on the community for translations and accept them directly on our translations site.
Might you be willing to make those corrections and submit them? We have a guide to help with the submission process and it would be great to see your contributions in there!
Thanks for your help!

MemberGood eye! I missed that deprecated function the first time around and should definitely have spotted it–nice work!
Try using this instead:ย tribe_get_listview_link()
That’s the current function for getting the current list view link.

MemberHello Jacob!
Thanks a ton for checking out the plugins–I hope PRO and Filter Bar are perfect fits for your site. ๐
Good question. There are shortcodes in the PRO plugin that allow you to embed calendar widgets on any page or post, but I’m afraid no full calendar view at the moment.
One idea might be to check out the Event Rocket plugin. It contains several additional shortcodes for The Events Calendar that might do the trick for you. It also has a setting to make the calendar page the front page of the site.
Does this help answer your question? Feel free to let me know if you have any follow-up questions here and I’d be happy to help.
Cheers!

MemberHey @threevistas and welcome to the forums!
That’s an excellent question. I would suggest using the WordPress Export Tool on the current site (Tools > Export), then using the WordPress Import Tool on the new site (Tools > Import). Events are an offshoot of posts, so they are compatible with those tools just as posts are.
Will that work for you? Please let me know. ๐

MemberOh weird! I wonder if the customizations in both places are conflicting with one another.
Just to be sure, will you please try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme and inputting just this snippet in functions file? You may need to try the same permalinks tactic we tried the first time around once you do that.
Thanks!
GeoffGeoff
MemberOK, one more question: are you using the Default Events Template in Events > Settings > Display? If not, try switching to it and see if that makes a difference.
