    Hey Christopher,

I see that my last reply was marked as the correct answer this time. I’m going to assume this time was intentional (lol!) and close this thread. Feel free to hit us up in a new thread if you still have any questions and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

Hi Amanda and thanks for getting in touch! I’m really stoked to hear you’re giving The Events Calendar a try and are looking into Community Events as well–that’s awesome. 🙂

once set up can I add community events plugin to allow people to submit events to the calendar already setup in Events Calendar?

That’s exactly right. Community Events works directly with The Events Calendar, so visitors will be able to submit events to the calendar you’ve already set up.

    – Do I have control over submission through the community events plugin? control to add tickets, where it is added to my events calendar, etc.

You sure do! You can add make it so that submitted events have to go through your approval before being published, which gives you the chance to edit and update the information as you see fit.

I will add that tickets is a separate functionality. It is possible to add tickets to submitted events, but that would require one of our ticketing add-ons to get it going.

    – Ideally I would like a events calendar with the ability for my users to submit a event that can be charged for through my site using the tickets plugin. Will using Events calendar (free), community events plugin and tickets plugin accomplish this?

I totally hear you! In fact, we’re working on this feature as we speak. It’s unfortunately not available at the moment, but do add your vote to the feature request and you’ll get updates as we make progress.

    – Are these plugins compatible with a wordpress multi-site setup?

Absolutely. You can learn more about our multisite license and set up in this article.

    – Finally if I want to upgrade events calendar to pro version will it be a easy transition from free to pro?

Yes, it will be seamless. The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO actually work together, so both will be installed and activated on your site at the same time.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and thanks again for reaching out. I hope the plugins will be a good ft for your site. 🙂

Hi Lorne and welcome to the forums!

WooCommerce Tickets will use the information collected at checkout for the buyer’s name and email address, which is where the ticket will be sent once the transactions has been successfully completed in WooCommerce.

From there, you can get a detailed view of ticket sales in the event itself by clicking the “Attendees” link beneath the event title in the WP dashboard (screenshot).

Does this help clarify things a bit? Please do let me me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

Hi Russ and thanks for getting in touch!

Great question. The short answer is that The Events Calendar does have the ability to take free and paid reservations through any of our ticketing add-ons.

The longer answer is that those are the e-commerce and reservation systems that we currently integrate with. In other words, I am not aware of The Events Calendar integrating with WP eStore and it is possible the two will not play well together–I have to admit that I am unfamiliar with WP eStore, so I don’t have a great deal of confidence in telling you one way or the other.

That said, there is another (free) extension to The Events Calendar called Event Rocket and this does include the ability to take RSVPs for events.

Sorry I don’t have more of a concrete answer for you, but does this at least help? Please let me know and I’d be happy to answer any of other questions as best I can. 🙂

in reply to: Countdown timer for holding ticket purchasing #1013134

    Hey there,

    Excellent question!

We do indeed have a countdown widget in The Events Calendar PRO that will add a timer that runs down to the start date of the event. However, we do not have a countdown widget that is specifically tied to the end date for ticket sales. That is a neat idea!

You can certainly suggest that as a feature! In fact, we have a feature request forum and I’d love to encourage you to add it in there. When you do, it would be awesome if you could provide some additional details on how it might work. For example, what happens if there are multiple tickets and ticket types, both with the same and different sale end dates? Any bit of detail you can provide to give us a leg up will help a ton. 🙂

Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

Hey Christopher, thanks for following up!

Once a ticket is created and added to a user’s cart, the rest of the process is entirely handled by WooCommerce. That means that any cancelation processes provided by WC Cancel Order plugin would be interacting with WooCommerce rather than WooCommerce Tickets. If either WC Cancel Order or WooCommerce automatically send an email notice, then the same should be true of tickets as well.

It’s very possible that a manual process may still be the best one, but testing would be the surest way to find out. We haven’t built WooCommerce Tickets with that specific functionality or to integrate specifically with WC Cancel Order, but it could very well be that they work together simply because of the way each interacts with WooCommerce.

But, to answer your question more directly: the ticket quantity will indeed go back up if an order has been canceled and that quantity will be available for other customers to purchase. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hello Amie!

Good question. It looks like Month View is set to be your default view, which means it will be your default view from desktop all the way down to mobile.

There is a snippet you could try using in your functions.php file to redirect mobile users to the List View on smaller screens. It’s not a bullet-proof solution and is a little dated, but it might just do the trick for you in this case.

    Hi James,

Welcome to the forums and sorry for the trouble here!

I see what you mean: there is nothing but a gray box where the map should display.

Will you first try heading to Events > Settings > Display and making sure the Default Event Template is selected? Let me know if that helps make a difference.

I see do a number of javascript warnings and errors in the console when viewing those links. Just to rest any doubt, are you able to deactivate all other plugins, revert to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen) and let me see the site in that condition? I just want to make sure there truly are no conflicts at play since I have not been able to replicate the issue on my end.

You can also set up a test site with a fresh WordPress installation–this will avoid any disruption to your live site and ensure that we have a clean canvas to work with.

    • Please install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory (if you have a C-Panel-type hosting account there will probably be a one-click install script to make this really easy)
    • Don’t install anything except The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO and Community Events
    • Please also stick to a default theme, like Twenty Fifteen–again, there’s no need to install anything else just yet!
    • Create a few events so we have some test data to work with
    • Can you replicate the same problem?

If you find you can replicate the problem under these conditions it would be awesome if you could stop and let us know so we can take a look while the site is still running under default conditions.

Let’s start here and see what we find. Thanks for your help as we look at this together!

in reply to: Which WooTickets Version am I supposed to use? #1012975

Hi Brandon, thanks for reaching out!

All Modern tribe plugins should be running the same “dot” version. So, for example, If you are running The Events Calendar 3.12.3 (the latest), then you should be running WooCommerce Tickets 3.12 (or greater).

If you need WooCommerce 3.12, you should be able to download that by logging into the site here and heading to My Account > Downloads. If you don’t see it in there, then you may want to check that your license is active so you have access to it.

Does this help? Please let me know.

in reply to: Recurring events on WooCommerce Tickets #1012972

Hey Russ, thanks for reaching out!

Excellent questions. Let’s try ti hit them in order.

I saw on the homepage though that “recurrence isn’t supported” with the WooCommerce tickets part, but looking at the changelog it mentioned that recurrence was working – is this the case?

Unfortunately, that is not the case. We have been making strides toward supporting recurring events in the ticketing framework, but still have some work to do to get it going. If you add your vote to the feature request, you will receive notifications when there are updates.

Secondly, I’m a bit confused by the prices of licences, we currently don’t have The Events Calendar licence, so would we need to purchase one of those at €89 + a Woocommerce ticket licence at €89?

Yes, that is correct. Each plugin is a separate license.

Export a CSV file of the event and email it to us / the venue when tickets export – is this possible within the Woocommerce ticket framework?

Yes, you can certainly export a CSV report for the event that contains recent sales–that can be emailed or downloaded from the plugin.

The ability for a user to view their tickets from their “my account” page as a HTML page

Shoot, no. This is a great idea and something we’ve heard come up in the past, but I’m afraid it’s not supported at the moment.

If the user purchased 5 tickets, we would need a unique ID for each of those tickets (so for example 00001 – 00005) – is this possible?

Yes, each ticket gets a unique ID. You’re covered there. 🙂

And finally, I note that the Events Calendar 4 is being released imminently. We’re looking to launch the new site on the 1st January 2015 and would be interested in seeing if the 4 version would be stable and usable by then?

We definitely expect 4.0 to be super stable on first release. We’re quality testing now and putting it through the ringer as far as making sure it is as good as we can possibly make it. We would never release something that we’d be uncomfortable calling stable.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions here and I’d be happy to help as best I can. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hey Brenden–welcome back!

You can change the date format in Events > Settings > Display under the Date Format settings. That’s where you can change the way the date displays–including the date separator.

You can translate any part of the calendar using a snippet. Here’s a good example of how to do that.

Let me know if this helps. 🙂

Ah yes, you could add tribe_events to the array so that it returns events an no venues instead.

I think the functions.php file will be the best route here since it is theme-specific, though you could roll it into a standalone plugin if you would prefer.

    Thanks!

    Hi @bluesmokellc,

Good question! I believe this will do the trick:

    [site-a]/events/category/[category-slug]/?ical

Will that work for you? Please let me know. 🙂

    Hi Marcel,

Good question. Unfortunately, there is no calendar view to display the full year at the moment. That means that searching will take place for the current month and, if past events exist, you should be able to paginate back in time with the “Previous Events” link.

Sorry for the bad news, but does this help answer your question?

    Thanks,

Hey Marvin–nice to see you again!

It looks like adding this to your theme’s style.css file will push the sidebar to the right:

    body #page-container #left-area {
    float: left;
    }

Give that a shot and let me know if it does the trick. 🙂
