GuestFew Questions:
– I like the events calendar going to start with the free version, once set up can I add community events plugin to allow people to submit events to the calendar already setup in Events Calendar?
– Do I have control over submission through the community events plugin? control to add tickets, where it is added to my events calendar, etc.
– Ideally I would like a events calendar with the ability for my users to submit a event that can be charged for through my site using the tickets plugin. Will using Events calendar (free), community events plugin and tickets plugin accomplish this?
– Are these plugins compatible with a wordpress multi-site setup?
– Finally if I want to upgrade events calendar to pro version will it be a easy transition from free to pro?October 9, 2015 at 9:43 am #1013207Geoff
MemberHi Amanda and thanks for getting in touch! I’m really stoked to hear you’re giving The Events Calendar a try and are looking into Community Events as well–that’s awesome. ๐
once set up can I add community events plugin to allow people to submit events to the calendar already setup in Events Calendar?
That’s exactly right. Community Events works directlyย with The Events Calendar, so visitors will be able to submit events to the calendar you’ve already set up.
โ Do I have control over submission through the community events plugin? control to add tickets, where it is added to my events calendar, etc.
You sure do! You can add make it so that submitted events have to go through your approval before being published, which gives you the chance to edit and update the information as you see fit.
I will add that tickets is a separate functionality. It is possible to add tickets to submitted events, but that would require one of our ticketing add-ons to get it going.
โ Ideally I would like a events calendar with the ability for my users to submit a event that can be charged for through my site using the tickets plugin. Will using Events calendar (free), community events plugin and tickets plugin accomplish this?
I totally hear you! In fact, we’re working on this feature as we speak. It’s unfortunately not available at the moment, but do add your vote to the feature request and you’ll get updates as we make progress.
โ Are these plugins compatible with a wordpress multi-site setup?
Absolutely. You can learn more about our multisite license and set up in this article.
โ Finally if I want to upgrade events calendar to pro version will it be a easy transition from free to pro?
Yes, it will be seamless. The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO actually work together, so both will be installed and activated on your site at the same time.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and thanks again for reaching out. I hope the plugins will be a good ft for your site. ๐
