I just wanted to pop in and let you know that we were able to ship version 4.1.1 out last night and that it did include a fix for this issue. Please do update when you get the chance and careful with those customizations when you do. ๐

We are absolutely on top of this and currently in the middle of testing our products withย the latest versions of WordPress, as we get them. We have a quality assurance team that is working through a massive checklist of tests and logging issues that arise from that work and you can be sure that we will prioritize those issues in upcoming releases if and when we spot them.

Great question! I’m really glad to hear you’re giving our plugins a look for your project. ๐
I think Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus would be great to handle tickets for specific museum events, but probably not the best for something like an annual membership. For example, each ticket comes with a barcode that you can use to scan and “check in” a guest — that wouldn’t be so great for annual members who likely would be able to enter the museum a number of times with a single ticket.
That said, I think looking into something like WooCommerce and it’s Subscriptions extension could be an interesting thing for you.
Sorry for the bad news on our plugins, but I do hope that the other route at least gets the ball rolling in the direction of a much better fit. And, of course, feel free to let me know if you have any other questions and I’d be happy to help as best I can.

Good question. The Events Calendar does integrate with the WordPress Customizer to allow you to change color settings for the calendar, but I am afraid that it does not have color coordinating features for related events.
However, I would suggest checking out the Category Colors plugin. It’s not supported by us, but does add a feature to color-coordinate events on the calendar.

In the meantime, I can say that I haven’t been been able to see that same issue on my test site. I would suggest following these troubleshooting stepsย as a first step in order to see if there is a conflict with the theme or perhaps another installed plugin.
