MemberI totally agree! We’ve actually tossed that around on the team a bit, but have still left hat largely to theme developers for the time being — lots of features we’re working on. ๐
Sorry again for the bad news, but maybe one of those themes could be used to build off of as a starting point.
Let us know if any other questions pop up and we’d be happy to help!

MemberHi Sam and thanks for getting in touch!
I do think our Event Tickets and Event Ticket Plus combo will work here for this.
Event Tickets allows you to set up a basic RSVP on any page or post in WordPress. Event Tickets then allows you to create on those pages and posts, connect them to WooCommerce, and sell them using the WooCommerce shopping cart. You can create an number of tickets and as many types of tickets as well, all with their own start and end sale dates, if needed. Handy for things like early registration!
Another thing Event Tickets Plus does is allows you to collect custom information for each attendee. In other words, you can ask a registrant what workshops they plan to attend. Or what t-shirt size they are. Or what food allergies they might have for lunch considerations. It’s pretty flexible that way. Here’s more info on how collecting information works.
Does this sound like a good fit? Please let me know. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHowdy Scott,
Good question! I do know that some themes offer alternative layouts for our plugin, a couple of those including Avada and Eventica. I’m not entirely sure how they treat Week View, but they are both certainly worth a look — their custom layouts are quite nice. ๐
I donโt mind changing the views and css, but fundamental changes to your code seem too difficult and add a technical risk that you change the plugin and my updates break.
Any changes you make to the calendar’s templates are completely safe from updates as long as you follow the tips in our Themer’s Guide. Changes should go into a child theme folder so that any updates to either the plugin or the theme do not override them.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHi Keri,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the forums!
That’s a pretty common thing we see come up. The reason is that inserting content before the calendar’s HTML inserts it before any calendar CSS classes and it has more of a chance to interact and conflict with the styles provided by the theme.
It’s a little tough for me to provide CSS to fix it based on the screenshot alone, However, we do have a handy guide on how to use DevTools in the browsers to help identify and target the CSS you need to alter the appearance and close that gap.
BTW, the content Iโm trying to add is a menu that allows users to view events by category.
You should able to add a menu to your calendar like you would any other screen, in Appearance > Menus. However, it’s possible that the theme has an alternative method for inputting menus than what is considered default WordPress. In that case, it might help to switch the calendar’s default template in Events > Settings > Display to one of the theme templates instead — or vice versa.
Cheers!

MemberHey Sabine and good morning!
Definitelyย — I am indeed referring to default WooCommerce alone. Event Tickets Plus integrates directly with it so that the tickets you create in Event Tickets Plus becomes Products in WooCommerce, which can then be purchased via the WooCommerce shopping cart. No other WooCommerce add-ons are needed for the two plugins to work together right out of the box. ๐
That’s an interesting question about UserPro. I haven’t personally tested that out with our products nor have I come across other examples here in the forums. What I would suggest doing is giving it a go and then exercising our refund policy if it doesn’t work out. I often find that testing plugin compatibility is better when it’s done in my own environment, so this will definitely give you a chance to do that.
Any other questions? Let me know. ๐
Cheers!

MemberIt sure does. Every ticket created in Event Tickets Plus becomes a Product in WooCommerce.
Did you have any other questions I can help with?

MemberHi James,
You can insert insert a shortcode in PHP using theย do_shortcode() function.
Alternately, you could override the template for Community Events in your theme files (more on that here in our Themer’s Guide) and insert the shortcode directly in there.
Cheers!

MemberHey Lauren, welcome to the forums!
Shoot, I am so sorry for any miscommunication here. We do indeed have the ability to embed the calendar in pages and posts with a shortcode, but that those are currently limited to the widgets that are included in Events Calendar PRO. I can totally see how that might be confusing and apologize for that.
A slight bit of good news though: we are actively working on shortcodes for full calendar views. Our hope is to have that in our next major release (4.2), if all things go as planned. I do not have a firm date for when that is coming, but it is in active development as we speak.
Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help answer your question? Please let me know.
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHi @acqua,
Sorry for the confusion here! I may not have been totally clear.
You doย not need Events Calendar PRO. What I meant to say is that the related events box you are referring to does not seem to have anything to do with The Events Calendar, Event Ticket or Event Tickets Plus. Instead, it is likely coming from either your theme or another installed plugin.
You can reach out to the author of the theme or plugins where the Related Events box is coming from. Or, you can provide me with a link where I can see a live example of the box and I can provide you a CSS snippet to hide it.
Does that help clarify things a bit? Please let me know.
Thanks,

MemberHi Sabine and thanks for following up!
You will indeed need a separate license for each plugin. I will note, however, that the only licenses you need here are for Events Calendar PRO and for Event Tickets Plus. Both The Events Calendar and Event Tickets are completely free. Each license grants you access to plugin updates and support in the forums here, but you do not need to renew every year in order for the plugin to continue working as is.
Will I be able to copy or duplicate events once I have one created, so all the custom fields I am creating can be re-used?
Absolutely. Event Tickets Plus does allow you to create fieldsets that can be re-applied to future tickets.
Also, if purchaser buys multiple tickets, I will be able to setup and gather the info for each person, requiring a checkmark for a waiver and their individual t-shirt sizes. Am I correct?
That’s totally correct. The link I referred to above has more info on that as well.
I am currently looking at Event Espresso as well and they offer a test demo, which makes it very easy to see how things work together and what the checkout process looks like. Do you have anything like this or a free timed trial?
For sure! While we do not have an interactive demo online, all our products come backed with a full refund within 30-days of purchase, which should give you ample time to test drive the plugins on your own site to see if they are a good fit.
Does this help answer your questions? Let me know. ๐

MemberHey James,
Absolutely! Customize this snippet and add it to your functions.php file:
https://gist.github.com/geoffgraham/2cbec0751e4e0696c52da9f84bbd2ace
That will allow you to target just the Community Events page instead of all the calendar pages.
Will that work for you? Please let me know. ๐
Cheers!

MemberHey Bradley,
Great question. The Events Calendar includes two layouts right out of the box (Month and List views) and Events Calendar PRO adds a few more to the mix (Map, Photo, Week and Day views).
On top of that, you can customize the layout of each view by overriding the template for that view in your theme. Our Themer’s Guide has a wealth of information on that topic and might be just what you’re looking for when it comes to constructing your own custom calendar.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. ๐
Cheers,
