MemberHello Kelly and happy Friday!
Yeah, you could certainly manage existing and custom user roles using a plugin like User Role Editor. For example, you could create a new user role called Event Admin and set the role permissions to only submit events in the WP admin.
Another option is to check out our Community Events add-on. It provides a submission form on your site that allows folks to submit events to the calendar and for you to moderate those submissions. Just another option at your disposal. 🙂
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHello Maurice and happy Friday!
Thanks for all the information — this is super helpful and gives me a good sense of what you’re seeing.
It’s true that Event Tickets Plus will hold off sending a ticket email until the order is fully completed. That certainly explains why the WooCommerce order emails are being sent when the order is processing and the ticket email sends once you’ve completed the order manually.
There is a way to autocomplete orders. I’ve used this plugin before with WooCommerce and it does the trick so that you don’t have to do it manually each time.
Will this work for you as well? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Chris,
Thanks so much for the kind words! We put a lot of heart and pride into our work, so hearing this type of feedback really lifts the entire team’s spirits and is much appreciated. 🙂
I can’t say that I know of any sites using our plugins that way, but it is certainly an interesting idea.
The sticky thing in my mind is the process for taking partial payments or deposits. Our plugins are unable to split payments up like that, but I do know of a WooCommerce extension called WooCommerce Deposits that does. I also found this recent post that covers the setup of it and might be a handy resource.
I have to admit that I have not tested this integration personally. I would suggest giving the plugins a test drive on your installation to make sure they all work well. You already know that we offer a full refund on all purchases within 30 days of purchase, and WooCommerce has a fairly similar policy that would allow you to do the same.
As far as getting a sidebar with upcoming events in the same category as the current event, that will take a little bit of custom development, but is certainly doable.
I also want to offer a reminder that Events Calendar PRO includes the ability to show “related” events on an event page right out of the box. You could use that built-in functionality as is (it pulls events from the same category as the current event) or use or you could override the single event template to display the related events elsewhere on the page. Either way, just wanted to throw that out there as an option.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Christopher,
Great questions! I’m glad to hear you’re checking out our plugins and I’d be happy to help answer these with you.
The general answer to all of these questions is: yes. I do want to elaborate on a couple of those points, though.
1. Does the plugin allow for individual and group registrations?
The plugin will allow users to purchase multiple tickets in a single purchase and collect information for each ticket holder, but it is not specifically tailored for group registration. That said, you are able to set up a ticket at a group price and only require the purchaser’s information when registering, if that’s all you need.
5. Can offline payments be accepted?
Yes, this is possible for sure. Event Tickets Plus (our add-on for creating tickets on events) integrates with WooCommerce, which allows you to accept offline payments, such as checks or in-person cash transactions.
I wanted to clarify that a bit because our plugins aren’t actually the engine accepting the transactions, but the ecommerce plugin it integrates with does and will allow you to take those payments.
Does this make sense and does it help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers,
GeoffGeoff
MemberHello Nadia and welcome to the forums!
Oh shoot, that’s no good! I’ve actually seen something like this pop up once in the past and we were able to solve it by un-registering and then re-registering the license from your account here on this site.
Will you please follow the steps outlined in this post? Never mind the title because it describes a situation that is slightly different than what we’re talking about here, but the steps taken should still be applicable.
Let’s start there and see what we find. If it does not work for some reason, will you please attach a screenshot of the error?
Thanks so much!

MemberHey Mike,
Hope you’re doing well and having a great Friday so far. 🙂
So if i purchase those two can people login in and list their own events?
I’m afraid not. The ability to login and submit events is available, however, in our Community Events add-on. I would suggest checking that out because that sounds like a fit for what you need as far as letting people submit their own events to the calendar.
I do want to note that Community Events and Facebook Events are two separate plugins and ones that do not integrate with one another. In other words, someone submitting an event through Community Events would not be able to import events automatically from Facebook.
Also are we able to import our current (live) event listings into your event engine?
The Events Calendar does include a CSV importer that will allow you to upload a CSV file of events data into the calendar and import it as events into WordPress.
Check out these posts to see what that process looks like and whether your existing event list will be compatible.
Also, if your existing events list has a hosted .ics file, then you might want to check out our iCal Importer add-on. It will allow you to import events with a URL or hosted .ics file and automatically schedule events to import into WordPress on a recurring basis.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHey Scott,
Thanks so much for reaching out! These are great questions and I’m happy to help answer them. 🙂
(1) The Add an Event page isn’t Submitting anything. It’s athttp://thisisreno.com/event-beta/community/add. I fill in some stuff, but it never submits. There’s also some weird formatting going on that page.
Oh yeah, I see what you mean. The first thing I notice is that there are several Javascript errors popping up in the console. These often indicate a conflict with our plugins and either the theme being used or another installed plugin. In this case, I see a few of the notices flagging Broadstreet ads.
Regardless, I would suggest following the steps outlined in this post. It will help test for the existence of conflicts and, if any exist, pinpoint exactly where it is.
Depending on the outcome of this test, we may want to open a separate thread to troubleshoot it specifically, independent of the other questions in this post.
(2) There’s no ability to customize this page?
There actually is a way!
The Community Events templates are located at /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/src/views/. Any of those templates can be overridden in your theme files (more on this in our Themer’s Guide) to build custom layouts for any of the Community Events views.
(3) Can I change the URL?
Absolutely! Community Events includes a shortcode that will embed the submission form on any page you would like and set the URL for that page accordingly.
Create a page and use the following:
- [tribe_community_events_title] as title
- [tribe_community_events] in content

MemberHey Michelle,
So sorry for the trouble here! This is indeed a known bug and we plan on releasing a fix for it in our very next maintenance release, version 4.2.1.
I’ve made a note of this thread in the ticket and will follow-up with you when we ship the fix.
Thanks for your patience while we work on this!

MemberPerhaps try this snippet alone to target all screen reader text:
h3.screen-reader-text { display:none !important; }Does that do the trick?
Cheers!

MemberHey @glendraeger,
Yeah, that’s totally possible!
Here’s an example of a snippet that removes events in categories named “concert” and “dance”:
https://gist.github.com/geoffgraham/247cf5d7c7e618a60db9Note that it is currently targeting the List and Month views only, so you can modify that to include other calendar views as well.
Will this help you get started? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers,

MemberHey Erin and welcome to The Events Calendar premium forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products. It’s truly appreciated.
However, please note that we do not offer support for our free plugin in this premium add-ons forum. But, the good news is that you are still welcome to consult this forum to your liking and browse it for solutions, snippets and tutorials.
At a quick glance, file permissions are often something that needs to be updated on the server. Here’s a WordPress article on how to update file permissions.
If you don’t mind, in the future could you please post your support questions here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar ?
Best regards,
GeoffJune 16, 2016 at 1:37 pm in reply to: Where are the Event Calendar files located? Can't find them in plug-ins folder. #1128151Geoff
MemberHmm. Well, it certainly appears that both plugins are installed and active, based on the system information you shared — that’s a good thing!
Is there a possibility that Dreamhost needs to up some permissions for your account to view all your files? I’m really stuck on how else an installed plugins files would not be actively accessible on the server. Will you please put a question in them and let me know if there’s something there on that end?
Cheers!
GeoffGeoff
MemberMy pleasure and so glad that helped!
The text can be removed with some custom CSS:
#tribe-events-header h3.screen-reader-text { display:none !important; } #tribe-events-footer h3.screen-reader-text { display:none !important; }Try adding that to your style.css file or using the Simple Custom CSS plugin and that should do the trick, 🙂
Cheers!
