    Hi Mike,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve hit up against some difficulties.

In the first instance, can you navigate to Events → Settings → Tickets and confirm if the Event post type is checked?

    Thanks!

    Hi Russ,

Tickets are generated during woocommerce_order_status_completed – so that’s the correct hook, but you’d need to use a sufficiently high priority when registering your callback.

Ticket generation is priority 12, so something like 20 ought to work for your purposes. Does that help?

    Hi Sam,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve hit up against some difficulties.

In the first instance I’d love to double check the exact sequence of events you are following. I’m assuming you’ve followed steps 1-9 as described here and are receiving the error you quoted after pressing the Get Authorization button. Is that correct, or are you seeing this at some other point?

Secondly, would it be possible to see your system information, which you can share via a private reply?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ian,

    That’s an odd problem!

Could you provide a URL where I can observe this first-hand (by private reply if you prefer)?

    Thanks!

    Hi Shari,

Our apologies for the delayed response – Nico is unavailable this week but I’ll be happy to help best I can until he returns 🙂

The solution provided has proved not to work; when any or some of the php is added to the functions php it causes the website to crash (error 500) which makes accessing the site impossible, both from the WordPress side or from .com side.

    I’m sorry to hear that.

Could you try again, except instead of editing functions.php directly make a copy and apply the change there (call the file something like test-functions.php).

If you can then share that file with me by posting a copy on Gist, Pastebin or some similar service, I can take a better look at things and try to figure out what is going wrong in your case.

When the php is added to header functions php / header php / custom header php nothing happens; no changes take place.

That’s not unexpected – it would really have to go either in your theme’s functions file or else a custom plugin, adding it to other templates would not generally be successful.

Let’s try again – by sharing the modified code from your copy of functions.php first of all – and go from there 🙂

    Hi Kirk –

I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced some difficulties, but thanks for posting and for sharing your system information.

On first glance, it looks as though everything has been set-up correctly. Before we go any further, though, I just want to double check something: when this problem occurs, do any warnings or error messages appear at the top of the editor screen (such as, “You did not select a venue” or similar)?

If not, would you be able to install Debug Bar and see if it captures any PHP-level problems that might be relevant here?

    Thanks!

    Awesome!

I’ll go ahead and close this topic in that case – but if you do hit the same problem in the future please just open a new topic and link back to this one, so that whichever team member handles it has some historical context.

    Thanks again 🙂

Hi @chrischarlwood – we’d be happy to help but please do create a new support topic of your own (you can then share your own system information confidentially, etc) 🙂

@Josh – as long as you didn’t modify any of our core plugin files (ie, your changes were contained in template overrides and so on) it should be safe to update manually.

In fact, there’s no particular difference between manual and automatic updates in this regard – both overwrite the core plugin files, which is why we recommend never modifying them and implementing customizations elsewhere.

Well, I can’t guarantee it’s always behaved this way – but it certainly has done so for a fairly long time.

For instance, the code that powers recurrence was given a big overhaul in our 3.5 release (more than a year and a half ago) however that in itself did not introduce any changes in this regard and I feel fairly confident in saying our last few 2.0.x releases also behaved this way.

Again, please do feel free to create a feature request (or up-vote any suitable existing requests) if you feel strongly that this isn’t the optimal way of doing things – we’re always open to feedback.

    Hi @krosebraugh,

If it only happens occasionally, it could be due to one or more problems periodically stopping the import from succeeding.

Sometimes it may be that the hosting environment doesn’t afford scheduled tasks (like saved recurring imports) enough time to complete; other times it may be connectivity issues between the server hosting your website and the source calendar.

If in the main it works, though, and regular imports continue, it’s probably safe not to worry much about this.

(Apologies, incidentally, for the delayed response – unfortunately this fell through the cracks 🙁 )

    Hi @creativecollab,

I can understand why it might seem a little odd but it’s actually the expected behaviour.

In fact, if you select Edit Single you should see an appropriate warning notice informing you that it will indeed be removed from the original chain of recurring events.

I’m afraid that, under our current recurrence model, it simply isn’t possible to modify individual instances within a set of recurring events without this step – though if you wished to post a feature request (or up vote any suitable existing requests) by way of requesting we change this, you are more than welcome to do so:

As an aside, please accept my apologies for the delayed response. I did actually (attempt to) reply a few days ago – though something must have gone amiss.

No problem, glad to hear that resolved things 🙂

I’ll leave this topic open for the time being in case the same problem does crop up again – and if there are any other issues unrelated to this one then of course please feel free to create new tickets as needed.

    Thanks!

    Happy to help 🙂

I’ll go ahead and close this topic (as you marked it ‘resolved’) but please don’t hesitate to create fresh support topics if you need help with anything else.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks for sharing that info.

When I look at the list of active plugins I see Event Tickets (Veranstaltungstickets) but not Event Tickets Plus – which would be required here if you want to maintain integration with WooCommerce.

You initially noted that you already had that plugin – but is it possible it was inadvertently deactivated?

    That’s odd.

I don’t see the same thing with 4.0.4 and it’s not a widespread problem impacting lots of users, so it does seem like this is specific to your site.

Would you be able to review our standard troubleshooting steps and then – with no plugins but our own running and just a default theme in place – try creating a new admin user then log in as that user and see if the problem persists?
