ParticipantThis post is in reference to a previous post: Calendar Pro Update Not Appearing
I’m getting the following message at the top of my dashboard:
The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 3.12.2. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version. Learn More.
I have entered my license key and hit save, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference. Am I missing something? system information has been inputed below.

MemberHi Josh,
So it seems like you are using version 4.0.4 of The Events Calendar (our core plugin) but Events Calendar PRO has been left behind at version 3.12.2.
Why you aren’t seeing updates I’m not sure; can you try manually navigating to Dashboard → Updates and see if that triggers them?
If that fails, the best interim solution is probably to update manually. Simply grab the latest version of Events Calendar PRO from the downloads page then deactivate and delete your existing copy (of Events Calendar PRO only, that is). Then, use WP’s upload plugin functionality to get the latest version online.
Would that work for you?

ParticipantHi Barry,
Sorry for the delayed response. I did as you suggested. Going to the Updates section didn’t do the trick. I enter the license key and that doesn’t seem to do anything either.
I’m okay with downloading and upload the newest version manually so long as doing so won’t mess up any custom changes I’ve made. I did modify a file or two to make links to other sites open in a new window. Will a manual update affect this?

MemberHi @chrischarlwood – we’d be happy to help but please do create a new support topic of your own (you can then share your own system information confidentially, etc) 🙂
@Josh – as long as you didn’t modify any of our core plugin files (ie, your changes were contained in template overrides and so on) it should be safe to update manually.
In fact, there’s no particular difference between manual and automatic updates in this regard – both overwrite the core plugin files, which is why we recommend never modifying them and implementing customizations elsewhere.

ParticipantThanks Barry. I downloaded the newest version of Pro, deleted the old Pro, uploaded and everything appears to be working as it should. 🙂

MemberAwesome!
I’ll go ahead and close this topic in that case – but if you do hit the same problem in the future please just open a new topic and link back to this one, so that whichever team member handles it has some historical context.
Thanks again 🙂
