KeymasterHi Allison,
Thanks for reaching out! Let me try to help you with that.
The text for the empty results can be found in wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\src\Tribe\Template_Factory.php file. However, it seems that this cannot be overridden in a child theme, so I see 2 options you could do:
1. Make the changes in the file itself. This way however you will lose any modifications with a plugin update.
2. Create a translation for it.
Here are two guides for translating our plugins: one and two.
In short: if your site’s language is US English then you will need to create a US English translation file.
You can find the language files underΒ wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\lang\ folder. Based on the .pot file you can create a US English translation, and name it the-events-calendar-en_US.po (and .mo). You can edit the file with PoEditor for example and change the text as you want it.
In order to preserve your translations after an update, copy the new .po and .mo files under the wp-content\languages\plugins\ folder.
I hope this helps, let me know if you get it to work.
Cheers,

KeymasterHi Brendan,
Thanks for reaching out, this is a good question.
I’m afraid though that this is not possible at the moment. It might be possible with some customization but we are quite limited in providing support for that.
If you would like to hire someone to help you with this customization, then here’s a list of freelancers who could help you and are not affiliated with us in any way.
If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.
Let me know if you have further questions regarding this topic.
If you have a different question, I ask you to open a separate topic to keep things clean. π
Thanks and cheers,

KeymasterHello again Erin,
Let’s try to solve this as well, shall we? π
I checked the original code and that works for me. Did you do any modifications? Can you paste in the code for me, so I take a look?
Also, if you give me an example how you would like it to look exactly, I might be able to do that for you.
Cheers,

KeymasterHey Erin,
Thanks for getting in touch. Let me help you with that CSS.
If you want to make the date smaller, then paste this in your theme’s style.css and change the font-size to your liking:
.tribe-events-schedule h2 {
font-size: 2.6rem;
}
For the Recurring line, this:
.single-tribe_events .tribe-events-schedule .recurringinfo {
font-size: 1em;
}
And to make that | disappear, add this:
.single-tribe_events .tribe-events-schedule .tribe-events-divider {
display: none;
}
Let me know if this answers your questions. πCheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHi Glenn,
Thanks for reaching out!
Until I try to get more information on that for you, could you please share with me your system information based on this guide?
Also if you could answer these: Do you have WP_DEBUG enabled? When, where and how do you get those error messages? That will help narrowing it down.
Thanks and cheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHi Quentin,
Thanks for reaching out! That’s a good question you posted there.
That would only be possible if it is set up as a recurring event, but then all events would have the same name.
Other than that I think it is not possible at the moment.
If you are using WooCommerce, you can set up a coupon which activates when the required products are in the basket. With the Extended Coupon Features plugin the coupon can be automatically applied when ‘restrictions’ are met.
Let me know if this helps.

KeymasterAlso, I would like to ask you to run a test for plugin and theme conflicts. Some plugin you are using might be causing a hiccup.
Here’s a guide on how to do the test.
Waiting for the results!

KeymasterHey flaws,
I managed to import the file without any problem.
This is the steps I took:
- Go to Events > Import
- Settings for CSV import are: Published | Encode contents (just did a test with Pending and Do not encode, it also worked.)
- Go to CSV tab, select Import type: Events, select the file from the PC, click Import button
- I matched up the fields as you see on this screenshot: https://cloudup.com/cREPAGMs4BP
- Click Perform import
- Process finishes with success, 4 events imported.
Did you do the same steps or was there anything different?
How did you match up the columns? Was there anything different there? Can you make a screenshot?
Do you maybe have some custom fields set up? Can you make a screenshot of this as well?
And your sysinfo got cut somehow. If you could re-post it again I would appreciate it .
Thanks and cheers,

KeymasterHey Rob,
Let me assure you, this happens to a lot of us and doesn’t make you an idiot. π
I’m glad we were able to figure this out. Since the issue is solved, I’m going to close this ticket.
If you need any other help, feel free to open a new thread and we will be here to help you out.
Cheers,
AndrasPS: If you like our plugins we would be grateful for a review on the wordpress.org site. Thanks!

KeymasterHello Heather,
Indeed, at the moment adding custom meta data to the tickets can be achieved via some custom coding. Unfortunately we are limited in supporting customizations, but I can share with you this list of freelancers who could help you achieve what you need. They are not affiliated with Modern Tribe or with The Events Calendar.
If you think this would be a nice feature to implement, then you can submit it on our UserVoice page or upvote an existing idea.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

KeymasterHi seifenigel,
The VAT question is a tricky one, simply because there are so many different possibilities in WooCommerce.
We have a nice writeup, a recommendation on how to go around when dealing with VAT. Here is the article.
Other option would be entering and showing all your prices including VAT.
Let me know if this helps and if you have any followup questions.

KeymasterHi Daniel, thanks for getting back to me on that.
I was aware of a similar issue but with the General Settings, not community events. We have a bug ticket on file for that, so the fix is under way.
The issue seems to come from the option (wp_options table) tribe_settings_sent_data, which gets stuck sometimes. Once that option is deleted, it should save and show properly.
Since this is marked resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic on the forum and we can help you out.

KeymasterSo, I did some further testing with several different calendar feeds. Some were importing as they should, some not.
I’m afraid that lies somewhere in the formatting of the feed. We have a bug ticket open for it, I just added this thread to it for further emphasis.
Until then you can try if clicking the Import all does the trick for you. You could set the Import status to Draft or give them a separate category to be able to look through them faster later.
I hope this helps at least a bit.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

KeymasterHello agian cshandrow,
#3.
I was testing the link you sent I managed to import events only, when I clicked on Import all. I couldn’t import events one-by-one or selecting only some. I will still do some testing to find out if it’s the feed that causes the hickup or if it is our plugin.
If you try to import all, then be prepared for some waiting time. It took me about 5 mins to get the import finished.
#4.
This might be coming from Divi. I looked at your code and it looks like as if there would want to be a right column, like a sidebar, but it’s not there.
Try this setting: Events > Settings > Display > Events template > Default Events Template
(I believe this is set now to Default Page Template π )
I ask for a bit of patience with #3.
And let me know how #4 works out.
Cheers,
AndrasAndras
KeymasterHello again,
I might have found the issue. The .csv file is a Comma Separated Value file, meaning that the field values are separated with a comma. That’s how the importer knows where a field starts and ends.
I did some testing and found 2 issues in the file.
- There are fields which contain text that also has comma in it. That comma can mess things up. So first I reco to either to remove the commas in the fields, or to exchange them to a special character (e.g. #) which then you can change back later manually.
- It’s not visible in Excel, but when you open the file in notepad (or a simple editor) you will see some quotation marks in a field or two. That is also stopping things, so just remove those and it should work.
(The error when importing files like this is not really the fault of our importer, but rather the limitations / restrictions of the CSV format.)
So this is the process I did with your sample file and then the import worked like a charm:
- Open the file in Excel or a spreadsheet software where you see the different values in columns, but you don’t see the cell separating commas
- Do a search & replace for the comma character (I replaced it with the hash (#) )
- Save the file in .CSV format (in Excel it is the Comma Delimited one)
- Close Excel
- Open the file with notepad or a simple text editor
- Do a search & replace for the quotations marks (“), replace them with nothing
- Save the file and you are ready to import.
Try this and let me know how it works out.
Cheers,
Andras -
