    Hi Bruce,

I believe I did the same and now re-did it, but everything seems to work fine.

I created a screencast of it, you can check it out here.

I see you are using a whole lot of plugins. Might be that some other plugin is influencing this. It would be great if you could go over our conflict testing guide and see if that uncovers any conflicts. I understand that this is usually difficult to do on a live site. In these cases we recommend to set up a staging / test site where you can play around. Let me know if you find anything.

    Hello Stefan,

Thanks for using our plugins and for reaching out!

We are unfortunately unable to provide support through our Pre-Sales forum channel, but you can head over to The Events Calendar WordPress.org support forums for assistance and answers.

If you have a PRO license, you can log into your account and get assistance through the PRO forums. If you need to reset your password, you can do so here. This will send an email to the account used when you initially registered for the support forums.

To get you started on this, with CSV import at the moment the only way to compare 2 events is through the event title and event date. If these are the same for 2 events then the events are considered the same. On our long-term roadmap we have some plans to further enhance this functionality.

What you can do meanwhile is use a slightly different title, for example insert an extra space somewhere.

Thanks for understanding and good luck resolving your issue. Have a good day!

    Cheers,

    Hello Matthew,

I’m really sorry the time move messed up your events.

We’re always trying to improve how the DST is handled. It looks like there is need for more.

I did some quick tests and have discovered some glitches. I will need to dig into this a bit more, please give me some time.

You can help with with giving me a bit more details about your issue. Thanks for sharing the settings, that is a good start!

Can you tell me more on how the event times got messed up? Were they recurring events or normal ones? Did all the event times get messed up or only some?

Thanks and looking forward to getting this sorted.

    Hello Mike,

Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!

That’s a great question you have there and it would be an awesome feature.

Unfortunately at the moment Facebook does not support keyword filtering through its API so we cannot implement this. Once Facebook changes this I’m sure it will not take long for us to implement that.

I’m sorry I cannot give you better news on this at the moment.

Though it is more cumbersome you can still import the events one-by-one based on their url.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Cheers,

    Hi netavis,

Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry about this issue you are having with the categories.

I have tried to re-create the glitch but I didn’t manage so far. This is what I did:

    • Create 2 event categories (“Front-end” and “Back-end”)
    • Go to the Community Events Submission page and create an event
      • event is recurring daily for 5 days
      • event has the category “Front-end” assigned to it
    • The event series is properly created, all recurrences have the “Front-end” category
    • Edit the event series in the front-end (basically using the Community Events submission form)
      • remove the event category “Front-end”
      • add the event category “Back-end”
      • update
    • The event series is updated and all recurrences now show only the “Back-end” category.

Is this what you are doing as well or your process which produces the glitch is different? Can you give me some details so I can look into this?

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

    Hello Cos,

Thank you for drawing our attention to this. I logged a bugticket and we’ll fix this in one of the upcoming releases.

Until then as a workaround you can use this little snippet in your theme’s style.css file to fix it:

    .single-tribe_events .tribe-events-schedule .tribe-events-cost {
    vertical-align: unset;
    }

I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released.

If you have any new questions or issues please create a new ticket and we’ll help you out.

    Thanks and cheers,

    Hi Mike,

That looks like a great customization you are trying to do there. Would love to see that in action once it’s done.

The strings are a bit different for those two.

Try using “%s From” instead of “Events From” and

“Find %s” instead of “Find Events”.

Let me know if that does the trick.

    Hello Kalani,

Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!

I’m sorry about the issues you are experiencing with the imports. Let me try to help you solve this.

    1. Can you share the URLs of the feeds with me that you are importing? Also please give me some examples which events didn’t get pulled.
    2. You say “updates no longer work”. What do you exactly mean by this? Does the import run, but it doesn’t update the events, or the import doesn’t even run? Are you getting an error message? Please give me as many details as you can.
    3. You say you “noticed an issue with the 7 calendar updates”. What is the issue?
    4. Do you still need help with this? Do you want to run the import more often?
    5. Glad to hear this is solved.
    6. So:
      • Future events: there is a setting under Events > Settings > Imports tab > Global Import Settings where a limit is set how far in the future events should be imported. Check that setting and adjust it based on your needs. See if that fixes it.
      • Past events: when importing from google or setting up a scheduled import you also have the option to set a starting date. (screenshot) Does it help if you set a past date there?

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Good morning Krystyna,

This is a really awkward issue, which we still haven’t been able to reproduce.

    Here are my thoughts.

    Thought 1 – timezone glitch:

    • Your website is in Phoenix timezone, which is UTC-7 hours.
    • Your recurrence is supposed to happen at 2pm, but is shown at 9pm. The difference is exactly 7 hours. So somehow the recurrence is saved with Phoenix time (2pm) but UTC time is shown on the front end (9pm) – wrongly.

    Thought 2:

    • Your recurrence is set up to end on the “next day” (screenshot). If the times and dates would work fine this would mean the event starts on 2pm on April 2, and ends at 5pm on April 3.
    • Because of the timezone glitch this translates to 2+7=9pm on April 2 and 5+7=12am on April 4 (which is just 1 second after April 3)
    • If the dropdown which currently shows “next day” is changed to “same day”, then this will probably be solved.

To go further there are 2 routes and I would take both parallel.

    1. Please send me a full database dump / database export of your website. You can do that manually through cPanel / phpMyAdmin or with the help of a plugin like this.
I would like to dig into it to see if I can find anything.
    2. Please set up a new blank test site with only the calendar plugins and check if you can re-create the issue. This can be a local install on your PC, a test site in a sub-domain or in a sub-directory.

    Hi evolutionstartup,

Thanks for using our plugins and for reaching out!

I’m really sorry about this issue with the PDF ticket extension. I opened a bugticket on this and we’ll check if this can be easily fixed.

As for our website it looks like that the font family that is used does not support some extended characters. The characters you shared with me are properly saved, but don’t show up with the current font family. They do show up however with Arial. I also opened a high priority bugticket for this issue.

I am going to set the status of this ticket to “pending fix” and we will update it once the fix is released. If you have any new questions or issues please create a new ticket and we’ll help you out.

    Thanks and cheers,

    Hello Bruce,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

I have tried to recreate the scenario you described but so far I didn’t succeed.

Could you please provide some more details and some screenshots as well to help me see what is happening? Thanks!

Looking forward to checking this out!

    Hi Kevin,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Is this influencing your non-event tag archives as well? Or only the event related tag archives?

If it’s influencing the non-event tag archives as well, then please check if you get the correct / desired order if you disable all the calendar plugins.

Meanwhile I’ll try to investigate this issue as well.

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for sharing that extra info.

I ran some further tests and if the time is defined like this:

    DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20170807T180000

Then the timezone will be taken into account. Otherwise it is skipped even though it is defined at the beginning.

We’ll take a look at it.

in reply to: Event organizers not imported anymore #1421183

What I still wanted to share with you is a workaround.

If you download the ICS file to your computer, and then import it to the website as an ICS file, then the organizers will get imported.

You shouldn’t need to delete the already imported events. If you imported the feed before and then import the ICS file, then your events should be updated with the organizer.

I did the following test today and worked:

    • Import the feed (http://seminar-eins5.de/data/EATH/EAD.ics) as “iCalendar”
      • Events and venues are imported. Organizers are not imported.
    • Save the above feed on my computer as an .ics file.
    • Import the saved .ics file as “ICS file”
      • Organizers were added to the already existing events.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Andras
