Featured Calendar: Sense Scotland
At The Events Calendar, we have a soft spot for nonprofit organizations. In fact, we have a nonprofit program where we grant a discounted Events Calendar Pro license to qualifying nonprofit organizations in need.
This month, we’ve chosen to feature one of our nonprofit program organizations, Sense Scotland. This Scottish charity focuses its efforts on helping people with communication support needs associated with complex and sensory disabilities, along with supporting their families.
Sense Scotland supports those in need through various programs and activities. These activities include an early age program for ages 0-8, transition sessions for ages 16-19, and their Sensatronic Lab: an experimental music, art, and technology project. Sense Scotland additionally provides registered care services for both children and adults with communication needs associated with complex and sensory disabilities.

Below, we’ll take a look at how Sense Scotland utilizes our plugins to add events to their WordPress site.
The main calendar page
Jumping to the main calendar page, you’ll find that Sense Scotland uses our plugins out of the box to add events to their website easily. They’ve chosen to incorporate some of their website colors onto this page, which can be easily done using the WordPress Customizer.
They’ve also enabled multiple calendar views on their calendar page. This feature allows users to see their events in a few different ways, which is excellent for showcasing many upcoming events at one time.

The single event page
Just like the main calendar page, what’s great about their single event page is that they use our plugins right out of the box. It couldn’t be easier to create as many events as you need right away, as is the case with Sense Scotland. They’re using the recurring event feature available with Events Calendar Pro to populate their calendar with events without having to recreate the events repeatedly.
You’ll also find the Subscribe to Calendar feature on the page, which allows users to add an individual event to their personal calendar. These options include Google Calendar, iCalendar, Outlook 365, and Outlook Live. By subscribing to the event, users will also be automatically subscribed to any event updates as well.
