The Events Calendar supports three calendar views right out of the box:

  • List View: Events displayed in a list format, like a traditional blog.
  • Month View: Events displayed on a traditional calendar grid.
  • Day View: Events for the current days displayed in List View.

List view is the default view in the plugin settings. To change the default view that users see when they first visit the calendar, navigate to Events → Settings from the WordPress dashboard, click on the “Display” tab, then scroll down to the “Default view” setting to select your new default view.

Events Calendar Pro provides additional views that can be selected in this setting, including Map, Photo, Summary, and Week options.

💡 Pro tip: Limit which calendar views users can access by disabling views in the “Enable event views” setting on this same settings page.

Lastly, with Events Calendar Pro, you can choose a different default view for people visiting the calendar on a small screen, such as a phone, using the “Default mobile view” setting directly below the “Default view” setting. This way, you can choose to set one view for those visiting on larger screens, and another when the calendar is viewed on smaller screens.
