November 8, 2011 at 3:44 pm in reply to: integrating events calendar into featured content slider and newsletters? #10765
Rob
MemberHey Adam. Not off the bat, unfortunately – I can check with our developer. To confirm: you just want to find out how you can get the featured content/slider sections to appear in the “Screen Options” on the events page, correct? Would be helpful to know whether this is a third party plugin or your theme, but I can get a dev to look from there.

MemberThanks Julien!
November 8, 2011 at 3:42 pm in reply to: How to change the Page title for the Events Calendar? #10763Rob
MemberThat’s exactly true. If you do a template override though, which works on a good number of the .php files, it’ll avoid getting overwritten in a future update. We’ve got a template override description in the FAQ if you’re interested in that type of thing.
Rob
MemberWe’re definitely looking into all the options on the SEO/title tag front. Probably no immediate movement on that but it is on our radar. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Rob
MemberThanks for the suggestion, Julien. Let me run this by our developers and unless they seen any reason to object, we’ll include this in a future release. Cheers.
Rob
MemberHey Julien. Thanks for clarifying. That functionality you’re requesting should be working fine; the issue you’re noting was a problem in 2.0 but we patched for 2.0.1 and I’ve verified it as functional on my default 2011 install. Have you resaved your permalinks lately? That may have an impact – also, what permalink structure are you using?
I’m not able to click the date for ANY items in your calendar, Julien – none of them are hotlinked. Does this same thing happen to you on the default 2011 theme?
November 8, 2011 at 3:24 pm in reply to: Whoa! What just happend? No gridlines and Pete & Repeat on Calendar view. #10759Rob
MemberHi there. That issue with the calendar on your homepage; that’s the widget, correct? I’ll see if our developer has any suggestions as to how you could add those lines back in; they’re still present when I test it on the 2011 theme so this does look to be a theme-specific issue.
As for the second issue: it looks like “View All” is taking us to /events, but that the layout of that page is messed up. Have you played around with the different templating options available under Settings –> The Events Calendar? If you’re on default page template, for example, try switching to default events template. Don’t forget to resave your permalinks upon making any changes like that.
Let me know on the points above and I’ll follow-up/continue troubleshooting as needed from there.

MemberHey again Andrew. I think what you’re describing is happening because when you edit an instance of a recurrence and select to just update that instance, the system no longer regards it as an instance in that broader path of recurrence. So while it’ll still appear on the calendar, it’s now technically an independent event because we’ve changed the details enough that it is no longer a member of that series.
That make sense? Let me know if not.
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear that worked. Let me know if anything else arises, I’d be happy to help you out.
Rob
MemberHi Steven. At this point I don’t believe there is a php function to embed grid view into a page; I’ll check with John, though. There is of course the “Calendar” widget which could be used in the interim.
Irene: does the current calendar widget not do the trick? Are you trying to showcase events on a month other than the current month?
Rob
MemberAwesome to hear. Would you still like me to look into this at all for you, or did the code you provided give you enough of a starting point?
November 7, 2011 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Organizer missing; Recurring end date confusion; "Next" still broken #10726Rob
MemberThanks for following up, Cindy. The next event detail thing is problematic in the code itself; seems to apply across all themes I’ve seen so far.
On 2011: the theme options under Settings –> The EVents Calendar don’t allow you to achieve the desired result?
Rob
MemberYou should be able to remove them from the recurrence, yes – just find the instance in the broader backend events list, hover over it and hit “trash.” It’ll ditch that single instance but none of the others.
Let me know if that doesn’t work or if I misinterpreted your request entirely.
Rob
MemberExcellent. Thanks for the follow-up; going to check this with the dev and if he doesn’t see any problems with it, we can work into the next round of code. Cheers man.
Rob
MemberHey guys. Thanks for the heads up; this shouldn’t be occurring in the code and I’m still unable to recreate it. I noticed that on Julien’s site (Roberto, yours wasn’t working for me since it’s local) that event isn’t configured as a recurring event – only recurring events will generate the custom URLs as noted. If you do a standalone event that spans multiple days, as you’ve done with the Expo Andominipave, it is really just one entry instead of multiple.
Could that be the source of your problems?
