Before updating with 2.0.1, I’m sure that I had a link on each day that leaded to a page like /events/2011-11-05 (for exemple).
This feature is still not available. Why ?
So, with that link, 2 problems :
– pages like /2011/xx/0x lead to a 404 (pages like /2011/xx/21 eg are normal pages
– each page like /xxxx/xx/xx is indexed by Google and that makes a huge amount of indexed pages ! Is there a way not to index all that pages ?I would like to know where kind of template pages are the event pages ? Single ? Page ? Archive ? I talk about :
– calendar view
– list view
– pages by month (/xxxx/xx) or by day (/xxxx/xx/xx)Thanks
November 4, 2011 at 3:47 pm #10610RobMemberHey Julien. That functionality that you’re noting should still be there. Still seeing it fine on my default 2011 install with 2.0.1 active. Can you link me to an example?
The broader template documentation that we’ve got so far is right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/. Would be interested to hear what else beyond that you thought we be helpful, so we can add it to the list.
November 5, 2011 at 2:38 am #10632JulienParticipantHi,
You can take a look here : http://saintpierre.delareunion.net/agenda
You still have a backend access.
ThanksNovember 5, 2011 at 4:45 am #10636RobertoParticipantHi Rob, i have the same problem of Julien, when i click a day in the gridview it lead me to a 404 page (in example with url http://federkravmaga.local/eventi/category/stage/2011-11-19).
November 7, 2011 at 4:01 pm #10723RobMemberHey guys. Thanks for the heads up; this shouldn’t be occurring in the code and I’m still unable to recreate it. I noticed that on Julien’s site (Roberto, yours wasn’t working for me since it’s local) that event isn’t configured as a recurring event – only recurring events will generate the custom URLs as noted. If you do a standalone event that spans multiple days, as you’ve done with the Expo Andominipave, it is really just one entry instead of multiple.
Could that be the source of your problems?
November 7, 2011 at 9:14 pm #10733JulienParticipantTake a look at the calendar. Click on the number 1 to 9 in the gridview (only number with one digit). That leads to a 404.
Because the URL generated is 2011-11-7 and not 2011-11-07.
I don’t speak about events or recurring events, only links on a day number.
November 8, 2011 at 3:37 pm #10760RobMemberHey Julien. Thanks for clarifying. That functionality you’re requesting should be working fine; the issue you’re noting was a problem in 2.0 but we patched for 2.0.1 and I’ve verified it as functional on my default 2011 install. Have you resaved your permalinks lately? That may have an impact – also, what permalink structure are you using?
I’m not able to click the date for ANY items in your calendar, Julien – none of them are hotlinked. Does this same thing happen to you on the default 2011 theme?
November 10, 2011 at 1:03 am #10878RobertoParticipantSorry for the local link, but it was’nt my intention to link it 🙂 I have pasted it just to show what is the url i get when i click on calendar numbers.
TEC version 2.0.1, permalink page refreshed ( http:/…/2011/11/10/sample-post/ ||| /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/), but… i get always 404…
November 10, 2011 at 6:30 am #10886JulienParticipantSame problem with default 2011 theme Rob.
That’s I said on my first post. Sometimes I’m able to click the links and I have a 404.
Why sometimes I’m able and sometimes not to click the links ?
Rob, you still have a backend accessNovember 10, 2011 at 9:13 am #10892RobMemberHey Julien. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the issue, but here’s what happens when I try to view single day view on your site: http://screencast.com/t/iVIIFJOwMQa. Notice that none of the single day view options are even clickable.
What am I doing differently from you? How did you hit the 404 page, when no link exists to take you there? Lastly, would you mind reverting to the 2011 theme – with no other plugins active – and letting me know so I could test then? As it stands I’m still unable to recreate your issue.
Roberto: regardless of your permalinks structure, single day view links should look like this: (yoursiteURL.com)/events/2011-11-11/.Clicking that would take you into the events for 11-11-11. Not sure how you’re generating that URL you noted there, since the permalink structure for individual events shouldn’t impact the single day view.
November 10, 2011 at 9:36 am #10902JulienParticipantCurrently none of the days are clickable.
But they was ! Check google cache of my site, there is a lot of pages indexed !
But I don’t understand why my days aren’t clickable !November 10, 2011 at 9:44 am #10905RobertoParticipantHello to all.
Check the table.php file, in the middle you will find this line:$return .= tribe_get_linked_day($date, $day); // premium
it only “works” with PRO version. Well… not correctly work…(404).
November 10, 2011 at 11:46 am #10917RobertoParticipantHey guys (and i hope girls too 😀 ) check this post: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/something-strange-when-i-click-my-events-base-url/, @julien maybe are you using a function to list posts toghether with events?
If so, maybe is that function the problem…November 10, 2011 at 4:05 pm #10944RobMemberThat could definitely be the case. Julien, that sound familiar?
November 10, 2011 at 11:06 pm #10953JulienParticipantSorry but I have no similar function in my functions.php file.
