Andrew
ParticipantHey guys,
Sorry to keep bothering you, but I have another issue with recurring events. These seem to be the most complex part of ECP, so I’m glad I can help!
*Reproduce*: Create recurring event. Permalink (using /%postname% as permalink structure) becomes “http://mysite.org/event/myrecurringevent/2011-11-08” (pretty fancy BTW). Edit *single* recurring event, permalink becomes “http://mysite.org/event/myrecurringevent-2”. It also appears to become “unconnected” (bad FK relationship?) to the rest of the recurring events. No longer does editing this event bring up the jQuery box of of editing all future events, or just this single occurence.
*Setup*: WordPress 3.2.1 | TEC 2.0.1 | ECP 2.0.1 | LightOfPeace 1.4.1 (purchased from ThemeForest) | current LAMP updates (assuming; hosting on HostGator)
*Plugins*: I have a TON, but I have tried deactivating them all (at the same time), and the problem still persists: Admin Bar Minimiser, Audio player, BackWPup, CMS Page Order, Contact Form 7, Contact Form 7 Honeypot, Donate Plus, External Links, Flexi Pages Widget, Front-end Editor, FV Simpler SEO, Google Docs Viewer, Google XML Sitemaps, GRAND Flash Album Gallery, Maintenance Mode, Media Tags, Quick Cache, RefTagger, Revision Control, SEO Facebook Comments, Sermon Browser, Staff Directory, ThreeWP Activity Monitor, TinyMCE Advanced, Web Ninja Google Analytics, WPQuotidian, WPtouch.

ParticipantSorry, I don’t know how to bold text. Also, I don’t know why that first fake URL got messed up, the ″ is not supposed to be there.

MemberHey again Andrew. I think what you’re describing is happening because when you edit an instance of a recurrence and select to just update that instance, the system no longer regards it as an instance in that broader path of recurrence. So while it’ll still appear on the calendar, it’s now technically an independent event because we’ve changed the details enough that it is no longer a member of that series.
That make sense? Let me know if not.

ParticipantIt seems like you should be able to edit one event in a series and still have it be a part of that series.
If I change the location of one event in a series then it doesn’t show up in the “See all” link anymore which kind of stinks.

MemberI feel your pain there, Seth. A few folks have brought up this point before and I’m adding yours to our open ticket on it, to show there’s still demand. Even though this would require some reworking of how recurrence operates, I suspect we’ll work it in eventually due to the practicality of it. Sorry I couldn’t offer up more in the short-term.
