Sure thing! I can get one of our devs to comment on that too. Should have you a response tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

Thanks for the note Sam. We’ve heard a few reports of this. In most cases, the issue is that the plugin was installed in a directory with a space: “Events PRO”. This works fine for just code, but gets screwed up when enqueuing CSS/JS resources, since WP strips all whitespace out of URLs in its script+style management. So assuming you’re facing the same issue, changing to a dashed or underscored directory should get things working fine.

Let me know if that’s not the cause of your issue and I can keep looking into it for you.

Hey Jason. Not sure about this myself, but our dev Jonah might know. I’ll get him to chime in directly.

Thanks for the screenshots, Jason – I think I see what the issue is now. if you hit the checkbox there in your first screenshot (so it’s enabled) and save, then go to the event creation page, it should work as advertised. That box does need to be checked for the customized defaults to be turned on.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions or if I misunderstood the issue here, let me know.

Hey Nate. Thanks for the words. This patch is substantial enough that it unfortunately won’t make it until 2.1. But that being said, I got one of our advanced devs to offer up a short-term solution for a user who asked about this in another thread. I would suggest first and foremost giving that a go: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/huge-problem-need-help-right-away/.

Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. Once 2.1 comes out, this should be nipped in the bud for good.

Sorry, again, for the inconvenience Corey…we feel like crap whenever we’re not able to help someone fully resolve something. If you want to check in with me periodically via email (rob at tri.be) I would be happy to give you whatever the latest code is between releases so you could try and see if it fixes your issue along the way. Let me know.

Alright, thanks for confirming guys. Sorry to hear you’re having issues – I’ve got this in front of one of the advanced devs so they can see what exactly the issue is and we can offer a patch in 2.1. If there’s a short-term solution we can provide in the interim, I’ll get him to share that as well.

Hey again Timothy. Talked this over with the broader dev team today. While there is no amazing short term solution here, and it will be resolved in 2.1, you can in the mean time overwrite your views/table.php file with the following: https://gist.github.com/c130e502fccc1accc733. I assume you’re familiar with how to do a template override procedure (so your changes don’t get wiped when you update the plugin next), but if not head over to Support -> FAQs on this site and check out the first question under the “Customization” section. Let me know if you’re still having trouble from there.

Hey Steve. I reviewed this with our development team in full today, and it looks like this is related to a broader issue of how our templates are structured that we’ve been actively discussing lately. We in fact had a big meeting about it earlier this week in which we decided that we’re refactoring templates and page/theme integration quite a bit for 2.1. Until then there is unfortunately not much we can offer up to resolve this.

Hey guys. So I’ve had a couple of our devs look at this over the past week, and what’s being requested here is no trivial feat. This would require a bit of analysis of the code and possibly some refactoring of the mini calendar widget to get it working right. We can definitely include something along these lines in a future release if there is enough demand for it (throw your vote in the Feature Request thread – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-feature-requests/ – if you agree). Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here.

To answer Christopher’s question about getting the dropdown (from https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/all-events-category-list/) to work for event lists (as opposed to the calendar grid). I’m not 100% sure on this, but it looks like what you want can be accomplished by just adding ‘upcoming’ to the URL within the

Christina: any chance you’d be willing to share whether you faced this and if so how Jeremy could get through it? You seemed to have figured this out nicely…

Hey Corey. Sorry about that; we’d noted it in the other thread (which you responded in) but neglected to go and make the same point in all the others. Apologies there.

I’m not really sure of any other PRO solutions, but if you go to the WordPress.org repository and do a search for Events Calendar there are a number of options that – for free – wouldn’t hurt trying. Hopefully you’ll give us another go in 2.1 and let me know whether or not your issue is resolved from there. If you have any other questions let me know.

Hey Jacob. That’s weird; have you tried playing around with the different templating options under Settings -> The Events Calendar? I’ll also ask our developer Jonah to take a look here and see if he can offer up any suggestions.
