Jason
ParticipantI have this value enabled, and I want to disable it. However un-checking the box and Saving does not disable it. I’ve tried in Firefox and Chrome.

MemberHi Jason. Yes, this was an issue in 2.0.2 that we patched for 2.0.3. Have you updated yet? The 2.0.3 release (for both free & PRO) was released today, and if you install both this issue should be resolved. Please let me know if that’s not the case…and my apologies for the inconvenience so far.

ParticipantThanks Rob, I updated to 2.0.4 and was able to disable the Automatically replace fields dialog, but the Default Organizer and Venue, are not selected in the drop down lists when creating a new event? “Add New” shows as the default for both options.

MemberHey Jason. There shouldn’t be a 2.0.4 release out yet – you mean 2.0.3, right? I’m weirdly unable to recreate this issue…the saved defaults seem to be working fine. Can you confirm that you’re on 2.0.3 for both releases?

ParticipantSorry yes typo. 2.0.3 on both releases.
Tried changing Default Venue and Organizer to “Use New” then saved. Then changed it to the defaults that I wanted and saved again. Doesn’t seem to have any effect. No matter what option I select on these fields, I get “Use New” in the event entry fields for Organizer and Venue.

MemberHey Jason. Thanks for confirming. I just double checked on the 2.0.3 code following your instructions here and was still unable to recreate. To be clear: if you have the defaults enabled (via the checkbox) and have selected “Use New Venue,” that – along with any text you’ve added to the state/city/etc fields – will appear as a new venue (not dropdown) on the event creation page.
You’re experiencing something different, as I understand it. Can you share a couple screenshots of how the settings page is configured + how the event creation page looks after saving the settings page? I will try and further figure out what’s up from there.

ParticipantHere’s screen shot of the settings.
http://173.236.39.250/~sfts/temp/settings.jpgHere’s a screen shot of the Event Entry fields
http://173.236.39.250/~sfts/temp/entry_fields.jpgAs you see, despite having defaults set. I am still forced to select the values I want from the drop down list on every entry.
Thanks for your assistance.

MemberThanks for the screenshots, Jason – I think I see what the issue is now. if you hit the checkbox there in your first screenshot (so it’s enabled) and save, then go to the event creation page, it should work as advertised. That box does need to be checked for the customized defaults to be turned on.
Hope that helps. If you have any other questions or if I misunderstood the issue here, let me know.

ParticipantI’m not interested in replacing empty fields with default values. I want to set default values for the entire drop down. So that when you go to enter a new entry the drop down is already on the options I have selected as defaults in the settings.

MemberRight. Unless I’m misunderstanding your request, what I suggested above will do just that. You need to check the box to enable them though. That’s the only way to get the dropdown to appear pre-selected when setting up a new event.

ParticipantOK, I guess I got confused by how this feature was working before the 2.0.3 upgrade. Its working as I would like now. Sorry for the confusion.

MemberNo prob. Glad to see we’re all set here. If anything else comes up, let me know and I can look into it.
