MemberExcellent to hear this worked for you too, Cary…apologies you had to do some heavy lifting to make it so 🙂 With 2.1 this should become a non-issue so we’ll be all set. Let me know what else you need between now and then.
Rob
MemberHey Scott. Thanks for the note; this is a weird issue and not one that I can recall having crossed our paths lately. Let me get Jonah to take a look this morning and see if he knows what’s up; if not, I can run it up the dev flagpole internally here. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

MemberHi Suzanne. Thanks for the note, and sorry to hear that you’re having problems. The majority of translations are controlled by that events-calendar.po file; the only purpose of the events-calendar-pro.po file is to translate the views/words that are included in the PRO add-on but not in free.
Remember that you also need to include a .mo file (which should be auto generated upon saving your translation in POEdit) for each, and that you need to change your language in the wp-config file as well. It possible that you’d missed one of those steps?

MemberThanks for the follow-up, Sam. (To use code, use the < code > tag instead of

).
It may be Server 2008 that is responsible here, but that’s a bit outside my area of expertise. Let me get our dev Jonah to respond there.

MemberThanks for sharing, Greg. Sorry about the code issue…you should be able to drop it in correctly with the < code > tag. That’d look like this:
My sample code.
The point you’ve raised here is a good one. Though outside my area of expertise, I’ve asked Jonah to chime in today.Rob
MemberHey Nicholas. Thanks for the note here. Not sure what this would entail, but it’s certainly a legitimate question. While it’s outside my area of expertise, let me see if our developer Jonah has any suggestions.

MemberHi Beth. Sorry to hear that your’e having issues. If you bought the PRO license key here at tri.be, you would have been prompted to set up a tri.be username/password during the checkout process. You’d use those credentials to log in after completing the purchase, and you’d be able to download the PRO release from there.
Do you remember those credentials? If not, feel free to send me an email (rob at tri.be) and I can regenerate the password for you.

MemberSteve: yup, pretty much. This is a new decision we’ve just made this week; because the main calendar/list page is registered behind the scenes, most any plugin or theme where you can apply specific settings to a page do not work or at least are much more difficult to get to work. We’re going to have one of our devs put together a blog post explaining this as we make a little more progress, since for now it’s still largely in discussion stages.
Rob
MemberMy pleasure Nate…happy to help. If you need anything else, just let me know.
Rob
MemberHey maeda. Thanks for the offer; while we’re still a little while out from putting this together, I suspect we’ll take you up on that once this finally lands on our plate. Most appreciated!
Rob
MemberHey L. Thanks for the suggestion here; just so I understand what you’re saying, you want to have the same entry for multiple events (versus an entry for each)? Think that’s it but just wanted to double check.

MemberHey Tony. We’ve been having quite a few discussions about this internally the past few days (as a few users other than yourself have brought it up), and as a result we’re changing how we handle template/theme integration pretty dramatically for 2.1.
In the shorter term, would changing to a different, sidebar-free template under Settings –> The Events Calendar do the trick?
Rob
MemberThanks for noting this one, Jason – my guess is we wrote that before changing the code base and the FAQ never got updated. Let me double check with Jonah on this and we’ll update the FAQ entry accordingly from there. Thanks for the heads up!
Rob
MemberHey Mike. Thanks for reporting this; glad to hear you got it resolved. That item you noted is a weird issue and not one that we’ve had any reports of so far – if we get others mentioning the same thing I’ll definitely investigate it further and get a fix logged for 2.1, but at this point I’m unable to recreate.
It possible that you deleted the old version and manually re-uploaded the new one, rather than doing the install automatically on the WP side?
Rob
MemberHi Jason. Thanks for the note, and sorry to hear you’re having issues. We do expect that people using this plugin will have some WordPress development knowledge and will be willing to do some customization if they’re integrating it into a custom environment.
That being said, nothing should be so complex that it frustrates you and we’re happy to do what we can to help. I think what you’ve provided here so far should give us what we need to look into this. I’ll get Jonah to take a look, and can bring additional devs in as needed from there. We’ll do what we can to work through this with you and if there’s a bug in the code here will make sure to get it patched for 2.1. I apologize again from all of us for the inconveniences you face in the interim.
