Return Custom Fields as array or object

Is there a simple way in my template to return the custom fields for each event as an array or object. I see $e being used as the event object in other FAQ questions, but when i var_dump it, it comes back NULL.

var_dump($e);

I am a little bit unclear as to what exactly you are trying to do. Can you specify in more details what you’re trying to do and any code you have already written (beyond the var_dump).
