MemberHey Carlos: interesting issue here. What version of the Events Calendar/PRO are you running? 2.0.5 for both? And have you made sure no older versions are running alongside it? I haven’t seen that problem before but will try and dig up what I can for you on it.
On the Community side: hopefully within the next few weeks. We’re re-engineering some of the core functionality, which is pushing the launch a bit, but we’re confident the end result will be a better product for everyone…so it’s worth it. Sorry I couldn’t offer a more concrete timetable than that, though.

MemberAh, a single week view – not sure whether this will be possible until the official support for it is introduced during 2.1, but let me see if our dev Jonah is aware of any ways to hack it together in the interim. No guarantees but I’ll get him to respond with what he can today.

MemberHey there Roberto. Have you updated to 2.0.5 yet to see if it changes this behavior? If you’re looking for title tag changes the bulk of those are going to be in 2.1, as per this thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/pages-shortcodes/). Hope that helps but let me know if not!
Rob
MemberHey Chad! Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear you’re having issues. The plugin should by default list your events in order of when they’re appearing (with the soonest ones appearing atop the list). Are you seeing something different? Mind sharing a link to your site, if so? We can try to troubleshoot from there. Thanks!
Rob
MemberAlright then – thanks for confirming, Tony. Let me see if Jonah has any ideas – no guarantees if it relates to integration with a third party plugin, but hopefully we can help you out on identifying such hooks if they’re present. Will get him to take a look when he hits the forum today.

MemberHey Steven. I can see the concern there; if you wanted to delete past events that may help, but I’m wondering if something else is at play here since we haven’t gotten reports of the backend issues nearly as serious as what you’re noting here. Now that I look at your site it doesn’t seem like you have an excessive amount of events to the extent that it’d be causing that big a problem.
You’ve tried checking against conflicts with other plugins, right?
Rob
MemberHi DeepTitanic. You can definitely drill down by categories as you see fit, so users only see content from the category-in-question via whatever page you link them to. If you wanted to get more in-depth than that I believe our template tag documentation ( at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ) would point you in the right direction.
Hope that helps! Let me know if not 🙂
Rob
MemberHey Tony, have you checked whether the documentation at ( https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ) points you in the right direction on this? Let me know if not.
Rob
MemberHi Matthew. Thanks for the note; sorry to hear that you’re having issues here. Any chance you can share a link to your site so we could try to check this out? Had you customized the appearance of the plugin at all in a previous build? If so it’s possible your changes got lost upon updating if they weren’t done via the appropriate template override procedure.
Let me know. You may also want to try playing around with the different templating options under Settings -> The Events Calendar, to see if any of those have an impact. We’ll do what we can to assist from there.

MemberHi Arthur. Thanks for the note. My apologies that we’ve let you down on this. As Jonah noted, at the moment the flexibility in the widgets is largely limited to the advanced list, which has a number of backend customization options and can be modified in its php form as well. We have been getting a number of requests for the next/previous month functionality you’re mentioning since 2.0 launched, and so it’ll likely be introduced early in the 2.1 lifecycle (which we’re working on now and should have out over the next couple months). But at this point such functionality would unfortunately have to be hacked together.
Did you see Events Calendar PRO mentioned somewhere as having the functionality noted here? I would definitely appreciate you letting me know if so. We’d want to change that, since we’ve tried to be transparent as possible from the beginning about the fact that the calendar widget – which we just added in 2.0, so is still relatively new – is intentionally bare bones.
In either case, I’m sorry we couldn’t help you out further and for the inconvenience. If you think a refund is fair, or would like to discuss any this further, shoot me an email to rob /a/ tri.be and I’ll personally take care of it with haste. We’d hate to see you go…but we want to do right by you and don’t want anyone feeling like they didn’t get what was promised.
Rob
MemberSolid points, on all fronts. Thanks Rob – I’ve shared this with the team and as I mentioned above we definitely can see the value our users will find in this.
As for having past events moved to a separate queue – that’s a solid idea. Have it tabbed like the user list on the backend, or like drafts / published / scheduled? I assume that’s what you meant but want to clarify before I log it as an issue…
Rob
MemberHey Steven, thanks for the note here. While I don’t have a one-size-fits-all answer to give you here, the issue as we’ve found it relates to too many events happening on single days, and viewing that in grid view slowing down the nav from one month to a next. That seems related to the AJAX loading itself and is in the works to be fixed for 2.1.
What you’re saving here sounds like it definitely could be an issue, but makes it broader than what we thought previously. Do you have a lot of events set to display per page, either on the backend or the frontend? And – is it possibly a server issue, ie does the same thing happen with a wealth of regular posts?
Let me know and I’ll do what I can to troubleshoot. Having more information on this should also help us diagnose the issue so we can get it resolved quicker. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim though.
