MemberHey John. Thanks for the follow-up; I spoke with Joey about this a moment ago and he is familiar with your goal / the discussion you’ve been having so far, so I’ll let him take point on this thread. He’ll take a look and respond later this afternoon at some point.
Rob
MemberHey Henry: this is a nice suggestion. Let me see if Jonah sees any issues with it, otherwise I’ll log for the team to include in either 2.1 or 2.0.6.
Rob
MemberAh, that is excellent to hear Steven. Great to hear you’ve made progress on this. Hopefully other users who come down the road with this same issue will find this of value.
Let me know if we can do anything else on our end. Thanks again for the confirmation.
Rob
MemberAwesome – thanks for the heads up. If you throw that into our “Feature Requests” thread (assuming you haven’t already) it’ll definitely be given consideration as we plot out future releases. That thread is right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-feature-requests/.
Hope this helps. If we can do anything else, give me a shout.

MemberHey Curtis. Thanks for reaching out. This is an interesting issue – if you updated to Events Calendar PRO 2.0.5 before Tuesday morning, you’ll need to re-download the free version to resolve the “Event Has Passed” issue. More on that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/hotfix-for-events-calendar-2-0-5-event-has-passed-bug/.
Any chance this fixes that issue? On the forwarding to the venue – try resaving your sites permalinks, first and foremost. When I’ve experienced the issue you’re noting here a permalink save did the trick. Also make sure you’re running 2.0.5 for both free & PRO.
Let us know what that yields and we’ll do what we can to assist from there.
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear that this is set for you, Mihajlo…music to our ears. Let us know what else we can do!
Rob
MemberHey John. Thanks for reaching out. First and foremost: have you consulted our template tag documentation (available at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ), to see if that gives you what you need? It sounds like it has what could point you in the right direction.
Let me know if not, and I’ll see what else the team can offer up on our end. Thanks!

MemberHi Teja. Thanks for the purchase, and sorry to hear you’re having issues. This particular problem hasn’t arisen but I’d be happy to try and help diagnose it. Are you trying to upload via FTP, or on the backend of your site? If FTP it wouldn’t have to be zipped up…but if you are going on the backend of the site and it’s generating that error, please make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress and that you have no earlier versions of The Events Calendar/PRO active.
Make sure you also have proper permissions on your server to be doing this – from the looks of that message it seems the error may be server-side, but give those suggestions above a go first.

MemberNo prob, Matt – thanks for the follow-up. Jonah, can you take another look to see if you’re able to recreate Matt’s issue?
Rob
MemberAh, I gotcha. Let me know once you’ve had a chance to dig in (locally, of course) and we’ll see what we can do from there.
Rob
MemberHenry is correct, in that the easiest way to do this is going to be using categorization and linking to those directly. If you wanted to go a bit deeper you could also check out the template tag documentation ( https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ) to see if it gives you what you need.
Let us know if not, though.
Rob
MemberHey again Jamie. I talked this over with Jonah today and it looks like in order to fully evaluate this, it’d be a rather time consuming effort in which we’d need to dig into your code and test the ramifications of what works & what doesn’t. Unfortunately we’re a small team with limited bandwidth and aren’t in the position to provide that degree of support.
This being said, the devs have confirmed that if this solution is working for you, you can feel free to run with it — just know that it isn’t officially supported and you’ll want to change to the “official” method whenever it is introduced during the 2.1 lifecycle, as my guess is your method will cease to function at that point.
Hope this helps. If you’ve got any other questions, let me know.
Rob
MemberThat is possible. Do you have any other sites where you’re running the plugin, to see if it behaves the same way there? No chance this could be something related to your host?
Rob
MemberAh, thanks for confirming. Sounds like it may be a CSS issue – let me get our dev Jonah to see what he can offer up.
In the interim, please try the deactivating other plugin route (so we can see if this is happened to be caused by some conflict). It could also be the theme – so try reverting to the default 2011 theme to see if the issue persists there as well. We’ll do what we can on our end. Thanks!
Rob
MemberHi Sarah. If you follow the appropriate template override procedure as detailed in the FAQ (https://theeventscalendar.com/faq/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/), it won’t wipe your changes upon update. But if you modify the core plugin files it will.
We certainly could add this for a future release, if there was enough community demand for it. To be honest you’re the first person who has brought up such functionality; the demand as we saw it was for frontend venue pages, so users could see everything happening at a given location (versus one page showing all the venues). The next item we’ll probably be incorporating due to user demand is the frontend organizer page.
If you feel strongly about a given feature, we definitely encourage you to add it to the Feature Requests thread, right here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-feature-requests/. We’re using that to determine what features are added and when; a vote in there will certainly be counted as we plot future releases. We’ve got a lot in store for 2.1 and hopefully – if there’s enough interest in it – this feature can be included in that lifecycle.
Hope this helps. Let me know if not, and I’ll do what I can to elaborate.
