MemberHey Fabien. Looking through our old communications about this, none of them were related to the same issue you’re noting here – they were more minor issues related to venues/organizers, and permalinks. The only solution we’ve been able to offer up in the short term unfortunately would be to deactivate one of the two plugins. Can you confirm with 100% certainty that this doesn’t happen when you deactivate the WPML plugin?
As for 2.1, we’re hoping to have it out by the end of next month or early the following. How soon will depend on whether we need a 2.0.6; we’ve gotten good feedback from 2.0.5 so far, but since it’s only been out a few days we’re going to wait to make a decision on that just yet.
Rob
MemberHey Odhran. Thanks for the follow-up; no guarantees we’ll be able to get this sorted if it’s using custom code but I’ll see what Jonah can offer up to point you in the right direction when he hits the forum next.
Rob
MemberHey Stephen. Thanks for the follow-up; we just pushed 2.0.5 on Monday, so as of yesterday our focus is back on 2.1. Generally we try for one release a month, so if all goes according to plan that next release should be live by the end of April.
That being said: if we get a lot of feedback that there are problems/bugs with 2.0.5 and we feel we need a 2.0.6, that’ll delay 2.1 a few weeks. But so far the response to 2.0.5 has been positive and so we’re currently planning on bypassing the 2.0.6 route.
Sorry I couldn’t offer up a more substantive timetable here. If you’ve got other questions or want to check in over the next few weeks, I’d be happy to alert you as to status when I know it.
Rob
MemberSounds good. I’ve processed that refund accordingly. Going to close out this thread.
Rob
MemberAh, yeah. We do have some known issues with how the system generates title tags and unfortunately the fix for that won’t be included until the 2.1 code, which should be out over the next month or so. Have you tried whether a third-party SEO plugin could help you control that in the interim?
Rob
MemberThis is excellent news. Sounds like you all are having success with the new code. Thanks for being diligent in pointing this out, for your words of praise and for your willingness to sit tight with us as we worked out the issue. Let us know what else we can do.
Rob
MemberThanks for the follow-up, Rob. On the second point: that’s an interesting issue. Can’t you just resort them by clicking the start/end date header (depending on which you want sorted by) on the admin events list? Doing so should re-order them based on that selection.
I think the goal in setting them as reverse chronological by default was so that once you had a bunch of events passed, they didn’t take up the prime real estate atop your events list. IE: if I had events every day in March, by the 28th I’d log in and have to scroll down the events page a ways just to get passed those that had already happened.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood your request here, happy to adjust my response as needed.
Rob
MemberAh, sounds like a plan – in that timetable Henry’s proposal may be your best bet. Want to let us know the results, so other users in your same position know if it’s worth their time?
Rob
MemberHey Tony. That’s definitely a solid idea – we’ve had quite a few requests for it since launching 2.0, and so while no such functionality is currently out there, we are plotting for it. We actually used to maintain a WP Geo Tagger plugin that has since become neglected…but my hope is to bring it back to life and integrate it with Events Calendar PRO sometime over the next few months. No guarantees though.
At this point, a third-party plugin like the ones Henry recommended would probably be best. Let me know if I can answer any other questions!
Rob
MemberHey Maikel. Have you jumped into table-mini.php, to see if you can make the necessary modifications there? As the file indicates, you can customize that view by putting a replacement file of the same name (table-mini.php) in the events/ directory of your theme.
Rob
MemberHey Henry. Not at this point, without modifying the core. However a slug override (like with the “Events URL slug” setting in events) is in the works for our initial 2.1 build, for both organizers and venues.
Sorry there isn’t more in the short-term, though. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
Rob
MemberSounds like we’re all set here, right folks? Let me know if not.
Henry: yeah, we are definitely working on that 🙂 Just trying to find the plugin that plays best with our system…
Rob
MemberYou are definitely correct about the changes being overwritten, unfortunately. While this is a bit beyond me I can see what our dev Jonah might suggest when he hits the forums next. He’s back tomorrow so if he has any ideas he’ll share them then.
Sorry I didn’t have more myself. Let me know if I can do anything else.
Rob
MemberHey Pack. Thanks for the note. That’d probably take some work; as it stands now, the RSS feeds are pretty bare bones and don’t include all the event-specific details (though that’s changing for 2.1). I like your request of having a private option and will run it by the team. I’d also suggest adding it to our “Feature Requests” thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-feature-requests/), since we use that to gauge what the community wants to see and how we prioritize our work accordingly.
Sorry I couldn’t offer up more in the short-term. If you’ve got any other questions, just ask.

MemberHey Adam: glad to hear you got this resolved, and bummer to hear about the conflict. I wonder if that plugin has been abandoned by its devs or what 🙁 Let us know if we can do anything else though.
