MemberHi guys,
snorton’s answer is probably the best- The Events Calendar does not have any shortcodes, but it sounds like that plugin is a good replacement that cooperates with our plugins. If you guys are really keen on shortcodes, please add your votes to the relevant post on our User Voice forum.
Thanks!

MemberHi brownjm,
For front end event submission, you’ll need to have Community Events installed and active. In the settings you can choose whether you want to allow anonymous users to submit. If not, users will have to be logged in before they can make an event. If you want them to be able to make an account from that page (or elsewhere), you’ll want to make sure you have the Anyone Can Register option selected in your general settings, as well as what default role is (For example: http://d.pr/i/1bNu).
In that case, users will only have the capabilities outlined by their user role. For example, the Subscriber role is the lowest- they can pretty much only add events on the backend, and view events. They will not be able to make posts on your blog unless you changed the capabilities with a third party plugin like User Roles. You can read about the basic WordPress use roles here.
Does that answer your questions? Let me know if I can elaborate further or clear anything up.

MemberHi Dave,
To reset your permalinks, go to Settings –> Permalinks in the dashboard. Double check that the Default setting is not selected- it should be any of the other options. Whether you need to switch it or not, hit the save button. That will reset your permalinks.
To check for a plugin conflict, you’ll need to deactivate all plugins except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. If the problem persists, you know it’s not a conflict between our plugins and another. Then we can go from there. If the problem goes away, you can start adding back plugins one by one. When the problem reappears, you know that’s the plugin that’s conflicting. Similarly to check for a theme conflict you just switch to one of the default themes (like Twenty Twelve) and see if the issue persists.
Those are the three main first steps to troubleshooting an issue like this. Let me know how that goes and we will continue from there.

MemberHi Renee,
Sorry to hear the update is giving you trouble. The link you posted is a working download link for me. Have you tried doing it in another browser? You also may need to install the updated version manually.
To do that, go to your downloads page on tri.be (https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/) and download the latest version of Events Calendar PRO. Then head back to your dashboard and on the Plugins page, deactivate and delete the PRO version you’re running now (don’t worry, you won’t loose your data- although we always recommend backing up your site being updating). Then you can upload the downloaded .zip file just like you would a new plugin.
If you have any trouble, don’t hesitate to let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

MemberHi csamaras,
Thanks for sending those along. I checked out your site and the widget calendar seems to be working fine for me- when I click a day that has an event, the event is listed underneath as it should. If I click the link to the event, I go to the correct event page. I’m hoping your were able to get things working and that’s why I’m seeing this. Is that correct? Or am I misunderstanding the issue?
If you’re still seeing the problem, please check that you are updated to the latest versions for both The Events Calendar (3.0.3) and Events Calendar PRO (3.0.5). Those have both been updated since our last interaction here, and that could definitely make a difference.

MemberHi Leland,
Thanks for getting in touch. I’m not familiar with that product in particular. Previously we’ve had users experience problems integrating Gravity Forms for use as a front end event submission form with The Events Calendar. I did find a couple examples of people using Gravity Forms, WooCommerce, and our calendar, but nothing with a clear cut answer. If you want to read those over though, check out:
* https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/start-salestop-sale-required-stock-not-working/
* https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-wootickets-woocommerce-gravity-forms/All that being said, you may be able to get everything integrated and working beautifully. However, you should be prepared to do some customizing or maybe digging into the code. If that’s not something you’re comfortable with, I can’t recommend combining these.
I’m sorry I can’t offer you more here. You might try contacting the WooCommerce support team, as perhaps they can shed further light on the matter.

MemberHi thompsonstev,
I don’t believe there’s a way around it without editing a file- were you hoping for a front end setting to do this? I’d love to have you add that as a thread on our UserVoice forum.
For your temporary solution- did you do that with a template override? I just want to make sure your edits will still be there after the plugin updates. If you didn’t use a template override, you’ll want to change that. You can read more about template overrides here.

MemberHi Nabha,
Thanks for getting in touch. We don’t have a tutorial on this exact subject, although I’d like to have one for the future. I don’t know how simple this is, but there is a thread going on this topic that I think will help get you pointed in the write direction:
https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/show-only-todays-events-2/I recommend that you follow the steps outlined there, and post back here if you run into trouble. We’ll do our best to help out.

MemberHi Mark,
We are planning on looking into this further, but with the influx of support we have right now we do not really have the bandwidth to do research or hotfixes for individual themes. I apologize, and appreciate your patience and understanding.
If you need to roll back to a previous version, check out this walkthrough we’ve made. There’s a link there for all previous versions of The Events Calendar.
Thank you,

MemberHi Shane,
Thanks for getting in touch. At this time, there is no syncing option with The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO. You can export events to other calendars using PRO (to iCal or Google Calendar) or our other add-ons (to Facebook or Eventbrite) but those are exports, and not synced. I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a more positive answer here.

MemberHi Seth,
Thanks for getting in touch. Events Calendar PRO does not have any user submissions functionality- that was always a separate plugin. I apologize for any miscommunication on our side. If you’d like, I can refund you for your PRO purchase or provide a discount on Community Events. Just email me at pro (at) tri.be referencing this thread and we’ll get things squared away 🙂
Cheers,
LeahLeah

MemberHey accessrose,
I should have also asked, do you have a End of Day Cutoff set? (That’s under Events –> Settings on the General tab). That could potentially effect things. And did you try toggling between the UTC and city-specific times? Sometimes sites run best on one or the other. Just resetting the time zones could even make the difference.
Please check those things and get back to me. Also, you’ll want to update to our latest versions: The Events Calendar 3.0.3 and Events Calendar PRO 3.0.5. Those were just released today.
Thank you,
Leah -
