ParticipantIs there a way to create a pop-up when someone goes to our events page that will ask individuals if they want to add an event to our events list? To take it a step further is there a way to queue it only the first time an individual visits the page?
Thank you for the help.

MemberHey brownjm. Thanks for the note here. This is probably doable, but it’s admittedly a bit outside the realm of customization we can provide (as it’d require pretty much building something from scratch). That said: are you already using Community Events? If so and if the form is already built for you, you could probably find a WordPress plugin that will overlap that into a popup window.
Let me know if I’m misunderstood as to your end goal here, and I’ll try my best to get you sorted. Thanks for your patience here so far (I realize it’s taken us longer to get you a reply than it should and I apologize for that).

ParticipantThanks Rob,
I think I can figure something out regarding the pop-in. I have a question that I hope is easy to answer and maybe I just missed it in the faqs. How do I add users for the community function of the calendar? Do I just provide them WP users? If so, is there anyway to restrict them from doing anything but making creating events? I dont want them to be able to make posts in the blog. Thanks for the assist.
You guys do great work and this is a great program. Thank you!

MemberHi brownjm,
For front end event submission, you’ll need to have Community Events installed and active. In the settings you can choose whether you want to allow anonymous users to submit. If not, users will have to be logged in before they can make an event. If you want them to be able to make an account from that page (or elsewhere), you’ll want to make sure you have the Anyone Can Register option selected in your general settings, as well as what default role is (For example: http://d.pr/i/1bNu).
In that case, users will only have the capabilities outlined by their user role. For example, the Subscriber role is the lowest- they can pretty much only add events on the backend, and view events. They will not be able to make posts on your blog unless you changed the capabilities with a third party plugin like User Roles. You can read about the basic WordPress use roles here.
Does that answer your questions? Let me know if I can elaborate further or clear anything up.
Best,
