ParticipantHey mastafu,
This one is not going to be easy to do with the current architecture of the plugin. But we did just add tags to The Events Calendar, so there’s lots of activity around tags and discussion about moving those to Community Events as well. As long as we don’t run into any technical issues it’s definitely something we’re working on.

ParticipantHey thoand,
OK, we can take a look at how we’re handling these imports around the daylight savings time switches. If there’s something that we can do around the Facebook API, we can work on getting it in an upcoming maintenance release.
Thanks again for letting us know about this issue!

ParticipantHey alternatewords,
I have experience in teaching across timezones. They do eventually make your eyes cross, don’t they. x_X
OK, first, the group calendar sync issue. You are correct that our plugin is an “importer” and not a sync solution. You can set it up to automatically import new events, but refreshing changes is not something it’s designed to do. It would be a nice feature though. If you’d like, you can go over to our Feature Ideas site (https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas) and place a vote. Looks like it’s something that’s already been mentioned.
Now, to the bigger issue of time zones… I’m not seeing any way we can accommodate your needs with our plugin as it’s currently designed. You are right that it is controlled by the Facebook API and not something we could really change.
Since you’ve given this a real go, and you’re such an edge case, I can offer you a refund if you email pro (at) tri.be with a link to this thread. Not the solution either one of us wanted probably, but I just don’t think we’re a good fit for what you need.
I hope you can find something that will work for you. I wish you all the best with your project!

ParticipantHey Daniel,
I appreciate your understanding. We are working on improving and expanding the plugins every day. Thanks for your interest.
Good luck in the meantime and do check back!

ParticipantHello Erik,
That’s a really interesting implementation. It’s not something I’ve ever heard of before actually. Our WooCommerce Tickets add-on is certainly not designed for that. The events section is kind of central to everything we do. I wouldn’t be the first person to say “But it’s WordPress, anything is possible!” However, in this case, it would take some major customization to accomplish what you’re looking for.
Sorry I don’t have a better solution for you. I hope you can find something that will work.

ParticipantHi Seb,
Thanks for taking a look at our calendar plugins. While it’s a little thing, the wordpress.org page actually refers to microformats. I’m not spotting a reference to microdata. Same is true of the other thread that you linked to. Minor difference perhaps, but I’m not sure it’s going to have the exact schema you are looking for.
You mentioned that you did take a look at the source files. Just thought I’d also point out our demo site over at http://wpshindig.com/events/ in case you weren’t aware of that. I’m not sure which source files you were referring to, but you can always View Source on those pages to see what’s up.
If I’m wrong, and I could be, or if you need any more information, please let me know.

ParticipantHi Bruno,
Thanks for your interest in our calendar! You are right, the current version of our plugin is not responsive. It is something that we are all interested in, but it’s not available at the moment. And we also don’t utilize shortcodes. There are ways to customize the plugin to insert it on pages, but it does require digging into the code.
Your questions regarding the Eventbrite Tickets might be better asked on the Eventbrite site. Our plugin simply hooks calendar events into their ecommerce solution. You can take a look at our demo site (http://wpshindig.com/event/the-events-calendars-eventbrite-wordpress-demo/) and see that once a visitor clicks the Register button they are taken to the Eventbrite site to complete the process. I’m not certain of all the information and processes once it gets over there.
Given my answers to your questions, I’m not convinced we’re the best solution for you at this time. But that’s your call. Let me know if I can provide you with any additional information!

ParticipantHi Chris,
Thanks for your interest in our plugins! You are right that PRO doesn’t have an RSVP functionality built in, but it is something you could include with one of our ticketing add-ons. One possible solution would be to set it up through WooCommerce Tickets. You could ask people to “buy” a ticket, but just have the cost be “free”. That way you’d be able to cap and track the attendance, collect email address, and provide attendees with a confirmation message. The plugin doesn’t integrate with MailChimp, but you either export the orders or setup a third-party service such as ifttt.com or zapier.com to do that for you. Oh, and to be clear, the ticketing add-ons do not require PRO. You can use them with our free The Events Calendar plugin if that’s an option you’d be interested in.
So if that sounds like a workable solution for you, the ETA is… now. 🙂
If you have any further questions, please let me know!

ParticipantHi Sean,
Can I ask why you have so many calendar plugins? It really seems like there might be some real potential for conflict there. In particular, the AJAX one gives me cause for concern.

ParticipantHi Kevin,
That does sound frustrating. You make a good point. I’m going to ask one of the developers about it and see what they say. It sounds like something that many users could benefit from.
Hang tight!

ParticipantHi mastafu,
I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to accomplish. But if you’re trying to create a custom css file, you can find information on how to do that in our Themer’s Guide in the Customizing Styles section where it shows you how (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/#customizingstyles). You’ll probably want to set up a custom tribe-events.css file to do that.

ParticipantHi alternatewords,
OK, I’ll be honest. I’m not sure we can do what you’re looking for with a Facebook import. But first, could you help me understand why you don’t want times converted to local time? Local time would be reflected for each person. It would know that an 11:00 London event isn’t the same as a 11:00 Eastern event. Wouldn’t that be desireable?
Pardon my curiosity, but you’ve got me perplexed. If I understand it better I can give you a clearer answer.
