ParticipantHi,
when I import events after the last sunday of october they are imported one our in the future. (8pm instead of 7pm) Events during daylight saving time where imported correctly.

ParticipantHello thoand,
Thanks for letting us know. Can I ask what country you are in? Which time zone do you have selected? Also, can you provide a link to a specific event that’s misbehaving? That will help us track it down.

ParticipantHi Julie,
sorry but I had no time to check it earlier. I am located in germany and have UTC+2 selected. Here is a link to a wrong imported Event: http://ju-herford.de/termin/weihnachtsfeier-der-ju-im-kreis-herford/

ParticipantHello again thoand,
That’s very frustrating. I did notice that on your Facebook page the event seems to be set to UTC +1 but you said your WordPress site was set to UTC +2. Perhaps that explains it? Because the only other thing I’ve been able to find is that the Facebook API has some inconsistencies around daylight savings time that are beyond our control.
Sorry I can’t do more, but I’m not sure what else I can do.

ParticipantHi Julie,
I think the extension needs to implement some handling for daylight saving time. I found out, that there is an option to set wordpress to “Berlin” as timezone instead of setting UTC+2. Then wordpress tells me, that the summertime will be used until october 27th 3am. May be you could use this information for your import. Facebooks UTC+1 information is correct, on the date of the event our timezone is UTC+1.

ParticipantHi thoand,
Well blimey, these time zones / time changes are confusing, no? OK, so “Berlin” works, but UTC +2 doesn’t. Actually that makes sense. UTC doesn’t shift with daylight savings time. So you would be UTC +2 before the time change and UTC +1 after, I think. Makes my head hurt.
Either way, it sounds like using “Berlin” will take care of this then. If something else pops up, please let us know!

ParticipantHi Julie,
sorry but that was a misunderstanding. Choosing Berlin as timezone switches automatically, but even with this setting the import is not working correct, they still are imported with a two hours offset. What I ment is, that in the admin panel you can see on which day the switch between daylight saving and normal time will be, so that your extension could use this information.

ParticipantHey thoand,
OK, we can take a look at how we’re handling these imports around the daylight savings time switches. If there’s something that we can do around the Facebook API, we can work on getting it in an upcoming maintenance release.
Thanks again for letting us know about this issue!
